Die Lage des Hotels ist top. Alles ist fussläufig erreichbar. Die Sauberkeit in den Zimmern ist mittelmäßig. Gesäubert wird nur auf Wunsch und das Zimmer war trotz Nachfrage durch die Rezeption beim Housekeeping nicht fertig / gesäubert. Die Damen an der Rezeption haben in Punkto Freundlichkeit auch noch Luft nach oben. Das Frühstück war ausreichend, aber auch da steht das Hotel in Sachen Vielfältigkeit im Vergleich zu anderen Potsdamer Hotels nicht so ganz gut da. Am Schlimmsten war aber das Zimmer - tatsächlich keine Tür am Badezimmer und für Dusche und Toilette eine wechselseitig zu benutzende Glasschiebetür. Schränke waren praktisch auch nicht vorhanden. Einen der wenigen Parkplätze haben wir ergattert, aber der Weg dahin war auch kompliziert und ohne Service und das bei 24 € / Tag. Leider kann ich das Hotel nicht weiter empfehlen.

Die Hotelzimmer habe die Größe einen Schuhkartons. Bad und WC sind für Max. Eine Person gedacht. Der Gesamtzustand der Zimmer kann nur mit abgewohnt bezeichnet werden. Das Hotel bedarf dringend einer Renovierung. Parkplätze sind auch sehr eng bemessen. Mussten außerhalb entfernt für sehr viel Geld parken! Hotel nicht empfehlenswert Fotos auf der Internetseite entsprechen nicht dem realen Zustand des Hotel

Das Zimmer viel zu klein für zwei Personen!! 1 bis 2 nächste gerade okay!! Und viel zu teuer! Heizung im Zimmer nicht verstellbar, viel zu heiss im Zimmer!! Keine Minibar und auch leider keine Möglichkeit einen Tee oder Kaffee zu kochen!! Die 4 Sterne nicht verständlich!

The front desk people were extremely nice and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Restaurant and breakfast staff were sometimes a bit grumpy. Bar and restaurant not open Sunday or Monday evenings which is a shame. Snacks and drinks are available from the front desk. Room service would have been nicer.

Hard to beat for convenience as a traveler depending on the train & tram services, and an interest in exploring Potsdam on foot or via tram. If one uses the exit/entrance to the train station that's in a sort of shopping mall and just over the bridge (Lange Brukke area), it's easy to walk to/from the main station (Hbf), with a grocery store hidden away in that mall as well. Also very handy to a main tram interchange, the Tourist Info place, and the Alter Markt. I didn't opt for breakfast on site and the restaurant was closed for dinner for some or all of my stay. But, there is a nice Mediterranean place just steps away. Hotel staff were very friendly and kindly accommodated my request, based on other reviews, for a room somewhat distant from the elevator and on an upper level. I experienced no problem with noise although, with the fan on the A/C running at full power, some background sounds may have been covered. Room was plenty large enough for 1 or 2;decent number of sturdy hangers, along with hanging space. A few more shelves (vs some oddly shallow cabinets - what do you do with something 4"/10 cm deep?) would be more practical. A/C struggled in the hot weather, but fortunately I was able to return to a Dutch hotel with more effective A/C before the heat wave really got going. Staff was very helpful in explaining the rather puzzling control system for the HVAC. Would love an in-room kettle for tea/coffee prep but not a standard in Germany it seems.

Das Hotel ist für einen Kurztrip gut geeignet, für längeren Aufenthalt zu wenig Platz im Zimmer für Bekleidung. Nur ein winziger Schrank für 2 Personen, wenig Ablagefläche. Restaurant abends sehr teuer und wenig Auswahl. Parkgebühr sehr stark überteuert. Hotel günstig gelegen, alles gut zu Fuss erreichbar

Sehr freundliches Personal, saubere Zimmer, gutes Essen und zentral gelegen. Die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Und wer weiter weg will, der hat sämtliche öffis direkt vor der Tür. Trotzdem ist es schön ruhig. Parkplätze sind vorhanden, aber es gibt auch genügend öffentliche Möglichkeiten zu parken. Rundum ein gelungener Aufenthalt.
Sehr freundliches Personal, saubere Zimmer, gutes Essen und zentral gelegen. Die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Und wer weiter weg will, der hat sämtliche öffis direkt vor der Tür. Trotzdem ist es schön ruhig. Parkplätze sind vorhanden, aber es gibt auch genügend öffentliche Möglichkeiten zu parken. Rundum ein gelungener Aufenthalt.

Enttäuschender Aufenthalt mit wenigen Lichtblicken Schon beim Eintreffen im Mercure Hotel Potsdam wurden wir überrascht: Auf den Zimmern gibt es weder einen Kühlschrank noch einen Wasserkocher – für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie absolut unüblich und enttäuschend. Die Rezeption erklärte uns, dass dies in Potsdam wohl "üblich" sei. Ein schwacher Trost. Der nächste Schock ließ nicht lange auf sich warten: Für unseren Säugling wurde lediglich ein normales Bett bereitgestellt. Auf Nachfrage hieß es, man bekomme von den Buchungsplattformen keine Altersangaben. Diese Ausrede erscheint wenig professionell, gerade wenn es um die Sicherheit von Kleinkindern geht. Auch das gebuchte Dreibettzimmer enttäuschte – es war so klein, dass nicht einmal ein Kinderwagen hineinpasste. Erst nach einer Beschwerde an der Rezeption wurde uns ein anderes Zimmer zugewiesen, was zumindest zeigt, dass man bemüht ist, auf Kritik zu reagieren. Ein weiterer negativer Höhepunkt war rostiges Wasser, das beim Einlassen in die Badewanne aus dem Hahn kam. Der Haustechniker am nächsten Tag erklärte, das käme daher, dass ich den Hahn selbständig ab- und wieder aufgedreht hätte – eine doch fragwürdige Erklärung für rostiges Wasser in einem Hotel. Auch die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig. Erst als ein Spielzeug unter das Bett geriet und wir es verrücken mussten, fiel uns der Staub und Dreck auf – offenbar wird dort nicht regelmäßig gereinigt. Die Lage des Hotels ist top. Alles ist fussläufig erreichbar. Die Sauberkeit in den Zimmern ist mittelmäßig. Gesäubert wird nur auf Wunsch und das Zimmer war trotz Nachfrage durch die Rezeption beim Housekeeping nicht fertig / gesäubert. Die Damen an der Rezeption haben in Punkto Freundlichkeit auch noch Luft nach oben. Das Frühstück war ausreichend, aber auch da steht das Hotel in Sachen Vielfältigkeit im Vergleich zu anderen Potsdamer Hotels nicht so ganz gut da. Am Schlimmsten war aber das Zimmer - tatsächlich keine Tür am Badezimmer und für Dusche und Toilette eine wechselseitig zu benutzende Glasschiebetür. Schränke waren praktisch auch nicht vorhanden. Einen der wenigen Parkplätze haben wir ergattert, aber der Weg dahin war auch kompliziert und ohne Service und das bei 24 € / Tag. Leider kann ich das Hotel nicht weiter empfehlen.

The front desk people were extremely nice and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Restaurant and breakfast staff were sometimes a bit grumpy. Bar and restaurant not open Sunday or Monday evenings which is a shame. Snacks and drinks are available from the front desk. Room service would have been nicer.

Sehr freundliches Personal, saubere Zimmer, gutes Essen und zentral gelegen. Die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Und wer weiter weg will, der hat sämtliche öffis direkt vor der Tür. Trotzdem ist es schön ruhig. Parkplätze sind vorhanden, aber es gibt auch genügend öffentliche Möglichkeiten zu parken. We really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Hotel in Potsdam. The room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel location is perfect; an easy walk from the train station and to the city centre, plus great a great view of the Havel river and surrounding countryside!

Hard to beat for convenience as a traveler depending on the train & tram services, and an interest in exploring Potsdam on foot or via tram. If one uses the exit/entrance to the train station that's in a sort of shopping mall and just over the bridge (Lange Brukke area), it's easy to walk to/from the main station (Hbf), with a grocery store hidden away in that mall as well. Also very handy to a main tram interchange, the Tourist Info place, and the Alter Markt. I didn't opt for breakfast on site and the restaurant was closed for dinner for some or all of my stay. But, there is a nice Mediterranean place just steps away. Hotel staff were very friendly and kindly accommodated my request, based on other reviews, for a room somewhat distant from the elevator and on an upper level. I experienced no problem with noise although, with the fan on the A/C running at full power, some background sounds may have been covered. Room was plenty large enough for 1 or 2;decent number of sturdy hangers, along with hanging space. A few more shelves (vs some oddly shallow cabinets - what do you do with something 4"/10 cm deep?) would be more practical. A/C struggled in the hot weather, but fortunately I was able to return to a Dutch hotel with more effective A/C before the heat wave really got going. Staff was very helpful in explaining the rather puzzling control system for the HVAC. Would love an in-room kettle for tea/coffee prep but not a standard in Germany it seems.

Stayed for 5 nights whilst at a hockey tournament with a bit of sightseeing bolted on. Parking is limited and €24 per day even for guests staying at the hotel.
