The hotel on the whole is pleasant, I opted for this independent hotelier versus larger chains in the hope of a calmer and more pleasant individualised experience. My room was tucked away which I thought would be useful but was backed on to by several cleaning cupboards - so not as quiet as was hoped it would be. The room was generally well presented, spacious and had all the amenities you’d expect, there was plenty of tea and coffee making materials which is a bonus (as you’d usually have to request more after two cups). The heating was hit and miss, and none adjustable - as was the duvet in which I was constantly fighting to get the smaller duvet to stay aligned within the duvet cover, otherwise the room was comfortable in respect to sleeping. The bathroom was generally clean, with pleasant dispensers for dove soap at the sink and bath/shower. Annoyingly my shower head decided it liked to clean the remainder of the bathroom walls and floors too! The continental breakfast was abysmal, sadly, considering the hotel has a public cafe in the lobby!! So I didn’t bother with the other days I was staying. Though it was lovely waking up to a bakery/cafe smell every morning. The nearest parking is expensive in an NCP car park, or a short 8-12 minute walk from a local supermarket you can book on JustPark at approximately 1/3 of the price. The staff that I interacted with were lovely, welcoming and always approachable. I would recommend this hotel, I would revisit

The hotel claims it has on-site parking but in fact it doesn't. The nearest car park is a multi-storey public car park that requires a 5-10 mins walk. I was misled to choose the hotel.

The Swansea market and castle are nearby, shop are an easy few steps away, and there are some great eating options within walking distance. The on-site cafe, Cafe Lucia served great coffee and was a very comfortable, inviting venue. Would stay here again, if we ever get the opportunity to return to Swansea.

We booked this hotel on the web site information stating parking available at this hotel. On arrival we were told there is no parking on site, we can use the NCP car park close by . Very misleading

Hotel was ok. No cooked breakfast & the car park was 15 minutes walk away, wouldn’t have booked if I had known these things

Basic but clean and friendly. As a band on tour this suited our needs perfectly at a reasonable price. The highlight was the night staff who went above and beyond and really helped us out. Plus it has a late bar if you fancy a nightcap before you turn in.

Staff were excellent. For the price, these rooms are very, very poor. Carpets and walls were stained and looked generally shabby. No hairdryer. Not the fault of the staff but generally really, really noisy - doors banging, people shouting (the main doors were supposed to be locked at midnight but people were stll shouting up and down corridors at 2am). The towels smelt as if they'd not been dried properly too. Won't stay again.

It's grubby and noisy, but very central. The staff are lovely.

I stayed due to travel disruption. Very convenient for the station, friendly and helpful receptionist, clean and comfortable room with all I needed for the night.

Honestly would not stay at this hotel again Room 217 ceiling covered in black mould bathroom mould on grout. Very dated.

Overall the hotel is ok the main problem we had is because of the heat we had to have the window open so could hear everything outside , because the window was open the door to our room kept rattling constantly it was hard to sleep

Super friendly and helpful reception. Bed was pretty uncomfortable and bathroom moderately clean. Overall good value.

Single rooms are a good saving for a coach driver waiting over a weekend. The room had everything I needed & a nice view. Not flashy, but well maintained. The only downsides were that the TV required paying an outside provider, however with excellent WiFi, I just used U-Tube & BBC Sounds on my mobile phone. Also the cup was a bit small for my requirements.

Bed was uncomfortable the spring were coming through the cheap mattress- we didn’t sleep all night people running and shouting in the corridor banging doors- it’s more of a stag hotel. They take £100 deposit for a room and don’t refund it for 5 days

Ample for what we paid. All working & fit for purpose, though I have trouble with stairs & being on the 2nd floor was a bit of a job as the lift wasn't in action. The sprinkler was hanging off the ceiling, but didn't effect our stay. Quite a noisy room, being directly above the moving bollard but luckily I brought my earplugs so didn't bother me too much.

It was fair hotel . Room was too hot only issue

I have never seen such a small single bed in my life not only was extremely uncomfortable but trying to lie down on it was like trying to lie on a rope. My arms and shoulders had nothing to rest on as the bed was so narrow.

guy on reception didnt ask for my payment on check in, half and hour later knocked on my room door whilst I was sleeping saying I should have paid, he didnt ask me! I thought he would ask on check out then.

The hotel was clean and room was very good. Slept good. Only thing was tub was too high for me with an injured knee. One of the reading lights didn’t work. Front desk staff very friendly, cheerful and quite efficient on checking in. I would stay at this hotel again.

We're regular customers at The Dolphin, when visiting Swansea. The hotel is good value for money. However on this occasion, the staff member who check us in was rude and dismissive. Staff can make or break a stay if someone has never been there before. We will return again, hoping for a better experience.

I’ve stayed at The Dolphin twice for a boy’s night out in Swansea, and I’ve got to say both stays have been absolutely perfect. The location is fantastic with everything within crawling distance and the staff have always been so friendly. They consistently beat the price of the Premier Inn and Travelodge as well. My room last night was absolutely spotless and exactly what I needed after a night partying on Wind Street. All my mates stayed in the Dolphin as well and all said the same thing. Thank you Dolphin for giving us middle aged men a warm, comfortable, and reasonably priced place to sleep after our Swansea night out! We’ll be back again!

24 hour front desk, convenient location and friendly staff

The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.. The room was lovely and the beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the service was great. Would definitely go back again to stay

Stopped over to visit some friends whilst travelling through. The hotel doesn’t look much from the outside but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the guys on reception were super friendly and helpful 😊

My first stay was very impressive and reasonably quiet considering the city centre location in the middle of swanseas night life. Everything you need within easy walking distance. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. I was only there for one night playing in a weekend sporting competion. I deal for a covenient place to get your head down, nothing fancy it is what is. Highly recommended.

Staff was friendly. But located in noisy shopping street. Not ideal for solo women travellers in my experience.

Stayed one night after a work event in Swansea. Decor is dated and could do with a coat of paint in the rooms. But clean and a perfectly good budget hotel. Breakfast was included in my booking and had the added surprise that I could have it delivered to my room! Would stay again!

I was more than happy with all aspects of my staff. It would be nice if there was a restaurant as at 75 I wasn't prepared to go out on the evenings for food however overall a very pleasant stay and I would stay there again.

Staff were so helpful ans welcoming. Room was basic but lovely. Bed nice and comfy. Tv jad options like netlfix which was good. Was quite hot in room and no way to turn heating down so had to habe window open. Breakfast was ok. Quite basic not many options. Would stay again.

Was very close to bus station and shopping. Clean, tidy and basic needs. Walls a little thin as could here the people in the next room. Great Cafe and staff were awesome.

Prices reflects what you pay. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean. Place is dates and could use some love and tender care. Breakfast was not special. Coffee was not good and the meal was very basic. Better to go outside for breakfast for better value for your money.
