£10 for parking is extortionate! The leisure centre had the most dirtiest changing rooms I have ever been in. The lockers were dirty inside amd rusty. The floor was all wet. Will not stay again.

Would be a 5 but pool and leisure area needs major TLC. Hotel was lovely large room good shower. Breakfast was very good great quality and lots of choice. All the staff we met were great. Main let down is the pool and spa area. Needs complete overhaul. If you booked for the spa you would be disappointed

Excellent service from check in to check out, rooms were big, rooms were serviced everyday and althoigh i didn't have dinner at the hotel the breakfast was excellent. Managed to use the gym, pool and steam room whilst staying at the hotel. When staying in Telford again i will make sure i book again at the Mercure. Very close to shops, restaurants and even a cinema across the road!

Depends on the price . Whatever you get quoted add £10 for car parking charges. Otherwise other basic hotels offer overnight parking for £1.60 at Southwater. This was a weekend stay and was a great location. Walkable to train station and shopping centre and huge car park. The onsite pool and steam room and sauna are a great bonus for the morning after a great night out.

I booked this hotel for the spa facilities but I didn’t use them as it wasn’t a relaxing and particularly clean area. The changing rooms were a state with wet towels all over the floor and the general areas were tired and worn out. The corridors throughout the hotel had worn and stained carpets and the whole place just felt a bit grotty. We were staying there for a sporting event at the International Centre so didn’t spend much time in the hotel so it was fine as the room was clean and the breakfast good, but it needs some work to update the public areas. The staff were lovely and very friendly though

Lovely hotel polite staff good quick service. We used your facilities which was lovely however, we were very much looking forward to using your jacuzzi but i was out of service, which was a real shame as my partner had a bad back.

Very convenient hotel, plenty of parking, close to Town Centre. Room was pretty good, and public areas were pretty good too. Service was pretty poor, often no-one manning the reception or the bar, and if you flag someone down, you get that look that suggests they have better things to do.

Lovely hotel. Plenty of parking space. Did not like the breakfast set up. Prefer buffet style. Not that many options. Daughter disappointed that no Nuttela available. Went somewhere else for breakfast the next day. Nowhere to get a snack or drink. Just the bar! no vending machines. Nowhere nearby apart from KFC to get snack or drink either. On the plus side, pleasant reception staff, clean, comfy rooms, we had 2 adjoning ones due to family. Nice pool and jacuzzi with towels provided but lockers not secure. No key for them. Had to take a chance when using them which wasn't a comfortable feeling.

The photos attached are from room 501 that we were given on 4-7-2025 As you can see the bathroom was extremely dirty & the extractor fan was not working. The safe was also not working which we reported but were told there was no maintenance team on site to re set it so we had to take our valuables around with us each day. Also one of the lamps didn’t work which again we reported but nothing was done about it. We went for a swim in the pool where I found the ladies changing rooms to be in a dreadfully dirty state with slimy, filthy floors, rusty & broken locks on the lockers which were also very dirty inside. Peeling paint & black mould around the edges of the floors. The water in the jacuzzi was way too hot & was overflowing with deep foam so was too uncomfortable to use. All of this was reported to deputy manager & manager with photos as proof. My dinner that evening was inedible. The batter on the fish was very under cooked and the fish inside was horrible so they gave me another fish & chips which was the same standard so I went without a meal. The waitress gave us a bottle of water to compensate. We told the receptionist & she refunded our money. We were given another ‘superior’ room which was a little cleaner with a working safe. We asked for a refund on our stay but were told that because we had booked through ‘Hotels.Com’ we had to go through them to get our money back. We hope that this can now be arranged.

The staff in this hotel were just outstanding. My father had passed away and my sister and brother both stayed the night of the funeral and honestly they made our stay better. It was spotless and they have the comfiest beds. Going back in May.

We arrived around midnight as the hotel had been informed in person earlier in the day. When we got to our room , (passing down corridors with napkins and cutlery scattered at random intervals) we found a trail of toilet paper scattered around the room and filling the toilet. 2 napkins lay on the floor. The duvet was creased, suggesting the bed had been used recently, confirmed by that side of the duvet being untucked and the mattress underneath creased. We were too tired to treck to reception demand a room change, especially having been told the hotel was full. While one may expect this might happen in a £50 pn hotel one doesnt expect it in a £110 pn hotel.

Location was good for trip and staff very friendly plus bed was super comfortable. However, food in bar wasn’t great (had a pizza and garlic bread) and the bartender could not understand I wanted a normal Coke and gave me Diet Coke even after asking twice. While I got a good nights sleep, the attention to detail in regards to cleaning is severely lacking in the room. Old spiders webs, dirt, some red stuff on bedside light switch and very old hard water stains on shower seals. Would have complained but overheard at the check-in desk that they were fully booked so would not have done much good. Bottomline, nice staff and easy location off M54, but room conditions let it down massively. I do not plan to stay there again even with the low price offers. Disappointing.

In the main the hotel and staff were great. Our only issue was (what appeared to be?) poor sound insulation to the room, so when other guests were off to bed after midnight, voices in the corridor and banging of bedroom doors sounded as if our room door was wide open (which of course it wasn’t!)

the rooms are fine, shower in bathroom allow for horizonital showering and makes bathroom like a wet room, second stay here, back of the hotel is effected by noise from neighbour property and the front by road noise, due to single glazing, due to single glazing

Room either too hot or too cold. Toilet making a strange noise whole time. Room was right by corridor doors which caused room door to shake every time that slammed shut. Air con generators on roof outside window loud all night. All in all really bad sleep for a superior room.

The walls in the hotel rooms are the poorest i have stayed in. Our room unfortunately was an joining room. The walls are that thin you can hear everything below you and at the side of you. Even if someone is in the shower. Was woken every morning at 6am from other neighbours rooms.£178 i was really shocked and disappointed. Staff in the mornings cleaning were also really loud not very considerate to people sleeping still.

Great staff, plenty of parking, clean room, good service, lots of facilities, nice to have a pool and gym, the whole nine yards. Sadly the building seems to have no soundproofing. Noises from doors closing, people talking, footsteps, general activity, made it really hard to have an undisturbed nights sleep. I'd happily recommend a stay here as long as you're happy with some earplugs

Paid for a premium room, difference between a premium and standard appears to be a coffee pod machine with one single pod a large chair which got in the way and a dressing gown and slippers ( Only one and it was booked as 2 people occupying) Room was in the main building above the reception, even numbered rooms look out over the conference area and it is very noisy from air conditioning units. the single lift was not working Sunday morning. Staff though were great very friendly and helpful. Location is within easy walking distance of the shopping and leisure area so easy reach of food outlets. Also easy to find just off the motorway.

A was a little underwhelmed if honest. Front desk staff were great, others not so. We were practically barged by a member of staff coming through a doorway. The bedrooms and hallways looked a little tired. And attention to detail, such as mouldy grout around in the shower. Plus the shower leaked into the bedroom carpet. It was okay I suppose we only had to stay one night. Breakfast was tasty!

The bedrooms and hallways looked a little tired. And attention to detail, such as mouldy grout around in the shower. Plus the shower leaked into the bedroom carpet. On the whole, not the best stay, not the worst.

Our two night stay at the hotel was excellent. The staff, especially Steph on reception went over and above to make sure we had everything we wanted. Everyone we encountered was polite, helpful and a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was superb and kept very well stocked, the bar food was also great. Bedroom clean, had everything we needed and comfortable. We will be back

Room was satisfactory but a little over furnished. Shower control defective, no maintenance staff available over weekend to rectify it, although we were offered an alternative room. The dinner service in the restaurant was a complete and utter shambles. 45 minutes wait for a table due to "An unexpected rush", poor and disorganised service and when the waitress brought the wrong order and had it pointed out to her, she had the temerity to argue. At breakfast, which had to be ordered at reception the night before, so an unexpected rush could not happen, they ran short of cups, glasses and spoons. Tables, cruets and menus were all sticky. Confused, disorganised, poorly trained and short staffed, it is difficult for for a moderate man using temperate language adequately to criticise them.

Really regretted booking this hotel. I travel weekly for business and chose this one for its 24 hour check in because I knew that I would be arriving late and I paid extra for free cancellation. I arrived at 11pm after a very long drive and checked in to my room to find that there was no hot water in the bathroom. On reporting this to Reception, there had apparently been issues with the hot water all day, they had not mentioned this to me while I was checking in, and my only option for a warm shower was the pool showers which were now closed for the night. I do feel like this is a significant issue, and had I been informed of this, I would have cancelled my booking and gone to the hotel across the carpark instead. The next morning, the hot water was still not fixed, and I suspect the issue had been significant and going on for a while. While I appreciate that things do sometimes malfunction, the lack of transparency or communication concerning this issue before or after I arrived was very misleading, and having spent £142 for a 8 hour stay in a hotel where my journey times meant that I had no options for anything other than a cold shower was ridiculous. Not even a refund of any kind on the price paid!

Very convenient hotel, plenty of parking, close to Town Centre. Room was pretty good, and public areas were pretty good too. Service was pretty poor, often no-one manning the reception or the bar, and if you flag someone down, you get that look that suggests they have better things to do.

Unfortunately receptionist on check-in appeared uninterested and lacking interest in what they were doing. This contrasted markedly with a mid evening experience and upon check out (although the receptionist was on a call - they happily indicated for us to leave our key). Staff in restaurant were appropriately attentive and happy to advise on choices. Pool facilities are ok however the area feels tired and could do with an update, whilst changing rooms are clean, the lack of locking lockers is disappointing (you need to provide your own padlocks). Very clean, comfy bed and the pool etc were lovely. Extremely friendly staff. Only downside- far too much chlorine in the pool and jacuzzi the first night to the point it was stinging our eyes and lots of people were complaining. Rectified by the next morning.

This was a weekend stay and was a great location. Walkable to train station and shopping centre and huge car park. The onsite pool and steam room and sauna are a great bonus for the morning after a great night out.

Reception arrival was pleasant, my room was great: large double bed, good size bathroom, TV and heating. Had a fabulous hair dryer which most hotels don't provide, normally they haven't got enough power and then takes ages to dry your hair. Breakfast was wonderful, from full English to continental breakfast. The staff during breakfast service were amazing, very friendly and always topping up the breakfast stands. They have a fabulous swimming pool and gym to add. I would highly recommend to anyone who would like a comfortable stay. And it's also only a short walk from the station too.

Stayed for a long weekend ,meeting friends and family. Good location easy walking distance from town and easy access to surrounding area. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had breakfast in the restaurant, I am Coeliac and Louiza checked with the chef to ensure that my food was all gluten free. Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay here again.

Location was good for trip and staff very friendly plus bed was super comfortable. However, food in bar wasn’t great (had a pizza and garlic bread) and the bartender could not understand I wanted a normal Coke and gave me Diet Coke even after asking twice. While I got a good nights sleep, the attention to detail in regards to cleaning is severely lacking in the room. Old spiders webs, dirt, some red stuff on bedside light switch and very old hard water stains on shower seals. Would have complained but overheard at the check-in desk that they were fully booked so would not have done much good. Bottomline, nice staff and easy location off M54, but room conditions let it down massively. I do not plan to stay there again even with the low price offers. Disappointing.

The stay was ok. The bathroom was dirty, there were stains on the sheets and the general service was poor. We ordered vegetarian sausages at breakfast, reminded them after 20 minutes and when they came out a further 10 minutes they were not cooked in the middle.

Lovely hotel. Plenty of parking space. Did not like the breakfast set up. Prefer buffet style. Not that many options. Daughter disappointed that no Nuttela available. Went somewhere else for breakfast the next day. Nowhere to get a snack or drink. Just the bar! no vending machines. Nowhere nearby apart from KFC to get snack or drink either. On the plus side, pleasant reception staff, clean, comfy rooms, we had 2 adjoning ones due to family. Nice pool and jacuzzi with towels provided but lockers not secure. No key for them.
