Ich bin mehrfach in diesem Hotel gewesen und war in der Vergangenheit immer zufrieden - dieses mal allerdings nur mit Einschränkungen. Bei der Buchung wurde nicht darauf hingewiesen ( und bei der Bepreisung wohl auch nicht berücksichtigt ), dass sich das Hotel in der Renovierung befindet, was sich insbesondere in Bezug auf Lärm und die Verfügbarkeiten von Services ausgewirkt hat ( z.B. war das Restaurant geschlossen ). Ansonsten - wie immer - sehr freundliches, kompetentes und hilfsbereiches Personal sowie exzellente Lage nahe Portage Place und Canada Life Center.

To our disappointment, the pool and hot tub were closed. Sign said Oct 25 to Nov 5. Had we known this, would not have booked. This should have been disclosed when we booked during the known closure. Feel this was a deception.

At check in time, our rooms were changed from two queen beds to a king and pull out sofa. But we weren’t given any bedding or pillows for the pull out sofa. The front desk seemed very confused when we asked any questions, whether it was bedding, where the vending machines were (there aren’t any despite the signs posted on the floors), pool hours (told 9pm at check in when it was 11pm). The floor in the pool area was covered in brown liquid, which we were hoping was rust from the chairs being moved around and there were only 2 pool towels available. As someone who worked in hotels for 15 years I was really disappointed and could tell all the staff need training!

Stayed at the hotel and while at first blush it looked clean, the next morning I found a piece of meatball underneath the office table. It doesn’t not look like they vacuum the rooms prior to guests arrival. Further, my room was still not ready until about an hour after check-in which was at 3:00 PM. The front desk did not seem to be apologetic until my friend indicated that the room not being ready on time was unacceptable and I was eventually compensated with a free breakfast. Also, at one point, the elevator floor was wet and no one had even put a caution sign to alert others of the hazard. Definitely would not stay here again.

We checked into the hotel for a funeral and were immediately put off, there was a huge amount of people coming in and out of the building smoking and the front entrance did not seem like an appropriate place to bring the children, there were many people we suspected as being sex workers hanging around. When we checked in, the room was about 30 degrees Celsius, even with the heat turned off and the window cracked open in -20 degree Winnipeg weather we were still hot. We notified the front desk staff and they said to just try to turn on the heat slowly. The second morning we woke up and jumped out of bed as we found a very large bed bug crawling on our 6 year old son’s pillow. Upon getting out of bed we pulled back the bedspread and were horrified to find several more. We informed the staff immediately that we would not be staying the third night and they were helpful in refunding us completely and washing and drying all of our clothes for us. We still had to go out and buy new luggage and find a new clean hotel which took up a significant part of our day. There will be a lot of work to do at home quarantining our clothes and other belongings. It was an awful experience and I will never stay at a holiday inn again.

Fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites (downtown Winnipeg) over a very busy Grey Cup 2025 weekend. Above all, the staff were friendly and knowledgable. Shout out to Anisha, Ximena and Catarina at the front desk who always had a smile and friendly greeting for us. When our other hotel didn't work out we were able to find 1 night at the Holiday Inn through Expedia, then 2 more nights came available (again, through Expedia) and we were able to seamlessly extend our stay, and remain in the same room. The Front Desk crew dealt well with bumps in the road...when their key machine was acting up, they personally checked us into the room, and then less than 10 minutes later the security guard brought us our new room keys. We bought the breakfast as part of our room rate through Expedia, and the little cafe did not disappoint. There was a buffet breakfast with hot and cold items every morning. Service was great (Beiman, Joy and Emma). The cafe also had food/bar service throughout the day. Good food - easy access. The room was beautiful - looked newly renovated. Two comfy queen beds, chairs, desk, big television, microwave and fridge. Bathroom was spacious enough and had great lighting. The whole room was super clean, and housekeeping stopped in to ensure the garbages were emptied and toiletries restocked. The hotel location was ideal - walkable to so many places, right on transit routes, and easily reached further locations by Uber (averaging $15 max). 100% would stay again.

This hotel room was Spartan beyond belief. Only one mirror and that in the bathroom - no full-length mirror. No microwave. I was especially upset with the plastic glasses. In this age of ecological preservation, throw-away glasses are a no-no.

It is a very nice room with a good view, and the staff at check-in were efficient and pleasant. The only negative is that the TV only has about 12 stations that work, out of 63. It might just be the connection to my room only. I’m very happy to have a bathtub in the room, rather than just a shower. I would stay here again.

5 min walk to Canada Life Centre. 5 min walk to Portage Place. I had a nice view of the legislature building. Comes with fridge and microwave, shampoo and conditioner provided. My only complaint about the room is that you can't close the curtains, so if you want to nap or sleep in there's no way to block out the light.

There was a "planned" water shut-off that we never were warned about, creating a situation where we could not shower when we had a big business meeting. There were children everywhere misbehaving. Also lots of people loitering in the lobby and in front of the building who appeared to be untrustworthy. Elevators took forever and always packed. I went to use the stairs but there was a person having an episode and was nude in the stairwell. Police had to show up both days I was there. When the water came back, it was brown. I did not shower for two days. Brushed my teeth with a bottle of water. No "do not disturb" signs. Front desk picked up and hung up the phone a few times, I believe an attempt to ignore me. Absolutely worst hotel experience I've ever had. Extremely sketchy area with lots of sketchy people hanging around.

The staff was super helpful! They accommodated our early check-in, which is not always possible and we fully understand that. But they went the extra mile to select a different room for us, sent housekeeping to make sure it was ready for us, and everything was done super quickly as well. The service in the restaurant downstairs was quick, the food was decent as well.

I loved the location and proximity to the Winnipeg Art Gallery. I was disappointed that my vegetarian supper in the in-house restaurant was missing its stated protein (chickpeas). Otherwise, services and staff were wonderful.

Location was perfect for a concert at Canada Life Place . The staff were fantastic and the breakfast included was amazing as they offered anything you wanted off the menu as well as extra sides. The decor was a bit dated and I would suggest replacing the carpets in the hallways as they were in dire need of attention. Overall, a most enjoyable stay.

I liked the location of this property for our travel but found it very dated. We booked for 4 people and were only provided 3 towels. Tried calling the front desk multiple times but never got an answer so grabbed some from the pool area. We booked this hotel as wanted a hotel with a hot tub but when went down to use the jets were out of order and so it was just like a luke warm bath. The next day we went down and the pool area was closed completely. There is security features on the entrance door and our breakfast was good although timely as is a sit down and order, not a buffet. Nice flavoured water was provided in the front lobby which we enjoyed. However the coffee was out in the morning and they said they were too busy to refill it (but didn’t appear so) nor was there an option to have tea. It was a place to sleep but not otherwise impressive and I wouldn’t be rushing back to stay there. Check in and check out were easy and painless. A nice email option to view bill and check out.
