When we arrived early due to transportation reasons, we were hoping for a smooth check-in process. However, the response we received at the front desk regarding the room's readiness was rather abrupt and unaccommodating, despite witnessing other guests being checked in early. Upon entering the room, we were disappointed to find it in an unsatisfactory state. Children's handprints on the balcony doors, litter on the floor, and an unpleasant smell were some of the issues we encountered. The shower leaked, causing water to spill onto the bathroom floor and into the lounge carpet. To add to our frustrations, the hairdryer provided was not functional, and the response from the staff was far from courteous. While we were exploring the hotel, we noticed other guests being offered assistance, information packets, and amenities like robes and slippers. We, unfortunately, didn't receive the same level of service and were left feeling overlooked. The matter escalated when we requested a room change due to the poor condition of our initial room. The initial denial of our request, even when evidence showed availability, was disheartening. We eventually moved to a room with two single beds instead of the double bed we had expected. Even after expressing our dissatisfaction, the resolution provided was subpar. If you want "free water" as advertised, it will cost you 2.50CHF per small bottle. Oh, and the "spa" is a single person sauna that will cost you 25CHF per use.

A great stay at a brilliant hotel. Close to everything and good staff too. Nice touches, cool and interesting decor too. I chose it for the location and the gym was a bonus. The wifi is excellent and the location was perfect.

The lift was too small. The concierge was not available at check out. It was unmanned and we had to wait about 15 minutes for someone to come to serve. The self check out machine didn’t work. There was only 1 pillow on the bed for each guest. No extra pillows and no cushions. Had to ask for an additional pillow.

We chose this because of its location one block from the train station. Lovely hotel, and will be better soon as they are in the middle of remodeling the rooms, but that wasn't an issue as it was very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

部屋は一見綺麗ですが、水廻りの管理が甘くシャワーを浴びると排水がスムーズでない為ガラス扉の下から水が流れ出て、シャワーブースからトイレや洗面所が濡れてしまいます。２日目は特に注意して利用しましたが同じでした。またフロントからエレベーターを上り部屋に行くのですが、建物をつなげたのか途中に10段ほどの階段を登るか降るしかなくスーツケースを運ぶのに苦労しました。せめてスロープ併用にするかなど改善してほしいと思いました。

We got a room as we were getting married. NOT our honeymoon, though! I knew the hotel from the years when my grand parents would stay there. It was one of the "Grand Palace" places. The Bahnhofstrasse is Zürich's "5th Avenue" (compared to Manhattan, NYC) and the country's most prestigious and expensive street. So, the hotel's entrance is on the side while some an unrelated store uses the coveted main street commercial front. I understand that. But from there on, it's down hill. The rooms (we got one on the 5th floor with main street view) seem "newer" in a 90's style/... like an upper Business Hotel. The bathrooms very simple. One sink, a tub and toilet all in the same space. White tiles, nothing to incite romance or luxury . The rest of the hotel is just old but lacks the charm of antiquity. The elevators are small. The older one just about the size of a residential elevator. The newer one is minuscule. Just for two people. But no help with the luggage offered. It's winter and we found the room in the afternoon at 17 Celcius just shy of 63 Fahrenheit. The central radiators just barely lukewarm. The AC system does NOT invert to heat either. As it got colder during the night we had use the hair dryer to blow some heat and ask for a plug-in heater the next morning. The request was met with little excitement, but we got our heater.

this was one of the most disgraceful hotels i have stayed in many years - old, poor quality, in desperate need of upgrade - and some of front desk people absolutely incompetent to be in the position they are (although some others are, thank you to the Italian and the Portuguese staff. Upon checking in and getting to the room in a very small elevator, i realized there was trash left in one of th glasses of the bathroom, took a picture and brought it down to reception, complaining the room was not clean, ti which she replied " that is because we found out you've been eating chocolates". - i lost it, felt incredibly insulted, asked for the manager - they said he was on vacation and there was no one to complain about it. I proceeded back to the room, to take a shower - the bathroom flooded immediately and very severely - i opened the door and asked for help - a lady came to help contain the water, and told be the drain was not working, that i would need another room, and that the situation was well known. in other words, an old hotel falling apart, severely overprices, and staff that insult clients when their bosses gto on vacation. Please do not stay at the St Gottardt it is at best a 2 star hotel not a 4 star hotel - i will have to submit a complaint to expedia for misrepresenting the quality of the hotels advertised. This one is a DISGRACE

The hotel overall was really nice. It was quiet and perfectly located so we were able to walk everywhere to get the things we needed. Nice restaurants and shops nearby as well. The room was too warm for us so they kindly brought in a portable AC unit. We did notice some mold on the shower tiles but other than that, the room was clean and spaceous.

I liked the location and the staff was friendly. The first room they gave me was nice. Big bed, walk in shower, nice colors. However, the AC didn’t work in that room, and it was 85 degrees outside. I asked if they had another room, because this one was unbearable. They switched me to the only room that was available, which was very small, sort of depressing due to the color scheme, had a tub shower, and an old mattress and pillows that had no support. I woke up everyday with a stiff neck and back. But the AC worked, so at least I wasn’t sweating like I just ran a marathon. For what I paid for the four night stay, it definitely was not worth it.

Nice room size with everything you need. Our room was very quiet. The bed was terrible and not very comfortable. We preferred to open the window in the room (rather than air-con) - only problem was staff smoking below and blew into our room - yuck!

It’s the perfect location to walk and see everywhere and everything I would stay here everytime I come . I would have given 5 stars but the room fridge is not cold at all and the A/ C doesn’t really cool the room down much at all . The beds are hard which for my back was great , loved the pillows , nice size room

I was really disappointed with my stay. The room looked nothing like the pictures online. it was the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in. The bathroom was so tiny that it only fit one person at the time. The property itself felt outdated and had a strong smell, likely from the carpets. The location was great, but unfortunately, the experience was made worse by the hot weather in early September and the fact that the AC was not working. I was told it only operates during summer, which was very frustrating. At $450 per night, this hotel was definitely not worth the price.

Like the other review has mentioned, the hotel is located right next to the train station, and is very walkable to attractions in the old town area. However, the service of the hotel is below average during our two week long Europe trip. First, once checked in, we noticed that we were placed in a room with twin beds, rather than the queen bed room we booked. Secondly, the hand soap and shower gel were both empty in our room. We called the front desk and asked for more of them, but was given serval items and none of them was the hand soap of the shower gel (we were provided additional shampoo and conditioner, and towels l, which we didn’t ask for). Lastly, on the morning of check-out day, the housekeeping staff opened our room 30min prior to the check out time without notice!! This is very unacceptable and I have never experienced this type of house keeping service before. After noticing we’re still in the room, she knocked again 15min after, again this is before the check out time at noon. I have no idea why she’s in such a rush to rush us out but I didn’t find it a pleasant stay at all. The hotel itself is clean enough, but give the poor hospitality, which does not live up to the price point they charge per night, I wouldn’t recommended to anyone unless you are just lookin for a night of stay close to the station. (There’s probably cheaper alternative for this too)

Reception staff were a bit dismissive. I wish that all hotels appreciated older, solo, female travellers. We have money, no mortgages and, if made to feel welcome, we will spend our money IN the hotel - meals, room service etc. My room was the furthest it could be from Reception. It was a nice room but I know it was not the best single room I could have been given. Therefore, it was not value for money. And would not bring me back. As a contrast, in both the Four Seasons in Vienna (for a similar price), I was treated extremely well and will stay there again. And, likewise, in a four star hotel in Slovenia, I was made VERY welcome - therefore had room service one night and ate in their restaurant the next night, and bought champagne in their bar.

Staff at the reception need some basic training on how to serve customers. They are rude and disrespectful. No manners on how to greet customers. While checking in and check out we kept standing at the reception and the person didnt even look up from the computer screen to greet us and help us. I will never stay in this hotel again.

The location is super convenient. It’s a block from the train station, and there is a tram stop right outside. It is also centrally located and within easy walking distance of the National Museum, old town area, and lots of shops. It was the perfect location for our trip and pretty ideal if you want to stay in the center of town. The room was very spacious, almost too much so. The bathroom was also large with a double sink and lots of counter space, which was nice. It had both a bath and a shower, but the shower was very cramped. There was barely room to turn around in it. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and they had live music most evenings. I would definitely stay here again!

Location, location, location. Next to the Central Station at the beginning of Bahnhofstrasse the main and famous shopping street. Close to Banking district and all city entertainment areas. Tram station is right in front of the hotel which gives you access to the rest of the city!

Hotel was within walking distance to the train station. Ideal place to stay for a short stop over before heading to the airport. 15 mins train ride away from Zurich airport. Can be quite noisy at night when the window is open as the hotel is within the bz street with many restaurants.

Hotel con excelente ubicación, a 2 min de la estación de trenes de Zurich. Y sobre una de las principales vias que comunica rapidamente caminando con rio, catedrales, puentes, restaurantes y grandes tiendas. Personal muy amable. Desayuno delicioso, muy variado y completo. The location was very good and conveniently located near the Zürich HB (main train station) and the Bahnhofstrasse (lovely shopping district). The staff were professional, well-organized, and friendly. The room was fairly spacious and the bed and bedding were neat and comfortable, although it could use a bit of upgrading. The breakfast was excellent and had all of the elements of a good Swiss breakfast (proper cheeses, breads, etc.).

It was a great location for exploring Zurich. However cleaning was not good, and one day our bedroom was not done at all. The breakfast was not great. The fruit was good but the small cooked section was not replenished vey often and it looked most unappetising.

以前泊まった時よりは改装して綺麗な部屋だったが壁が薄く隣の部屋の会話が筒抜け、シャワーの水捌けが悪く洗面所が水浸しになる。朝食も温かい食べ物がなく、品数も少ない。物価の高いチューリッヒだけど、これで日本円54000円高い。2度と泊まりたくない！
