Outstanding in every way. The only issue are the stairs: two long floors carrying heavy luggage are not doable for older people, people with mobility problems or just exhausted tourists. We would atill come back to this charming hotel.

The hotel is set in a lovely authentic building with a central outdoor courtyard. Rooms are spacious, a little tired but very clean. There isn’t a bar, there is a well stocked fridge for guests to serve themselves. Breakfast is good with a good choice. Reception staff could be warmer. Overall not an unpleasant stay

They did not disclose that there is no lift. It was a 55 step climb to our room- and we are elderly. We had requested the deluxe room - 8 months in advance- and assumed we would be given a good room. Besides being on the top floor we did not have a balcony and the window was small and difficult to open. The room was set up sleep 3 people -it was a family room not a deluxe room. it definitely was not the deluxe pictured. When I asked for a different room- cleaner and more as pictured- I was told they did not have any available. All the deluxe rooms were scheduled for use. I found it strange that even though I booked months ago, the better rooms were being handed out to recent requests. Was this because I booked through a third party? The furnishings in the room I was given were a jumble of old, damaged castoff furniture- not antiques Nothing seemed to have been considered in decorating. It was just provide a bed and bathroom. . The floor was cracked, the bathroom had a prefab shower stall that was ringed with mold. The toilet was stuck between the sink - with towel bar- and wall -that didn’t allow you room to maneuver. We have stayed in other converted convents - but those had been refurbished properly. The pictures on line did not reflect what you were given. Such a shame that a historic property is being allowed to disintegrate and sadder still that they are scamming people to stay there. The redeeming factor was the lovely breakfast staff who tried hard to please.

We arrived with a rental car. The instructions given prior were clear, the hotel staff were very informative and helpful. The room was clean and had a nice view of the countryside. Breakfast was included in the stay and was good. The hotel was situated close to the duomo and the piazza del campo. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would recommend it to others.

Zimmer, sauber und ausreichend. Personal super. Allerdings sollte man körperlich nicht eingeschränkt sein. Es gibt keinen Fahrstuhl nur eine große lange Treppe zu den Etagen. Mein Zimmer beinhaltete eine kleine Terasse. Allerdings waren im Zimmer vom Flur auch noch einige Stufen zum eigentlichen Schlafraum vorhanden. Wie gesagt wer gut zu Fuß ist hat keine Probleme. Wie die anderen Zimmer beschaffen sind kann ich nicht sagen. Es gibt auch einen Treppenlift für Rollsuhlfahrer, nur um an diesen zu gelangen müsste man auch ersteinmal ein paar Stufen überwinden. Ansonsten ist alles Fußläufig gut zu erreichen. Dad Hotel hat auch zwei Parkplätze, dieser sind kostenpflichtig 15 Euro pro Tag.

Hubo varios detalles que no nos gustaron: no no nos proporcionaron el control de la TV, a pesar de haberlo solicitado varias veces El baño tiene un fuerte olor a orines muy desagradable. Desde luego el hotel estaba lleno y tuvimos que aguantarnos. Reportamos también una fuga de agua en el lavabo que supuestamente iban a arreglar y nunca lo hicieron en los tres días que estuvimos ahí. Supuestamente están adheridos a un programa mundial de ahorro de agua y energía y reportas un problema de fuga de agua y simplememte lo ignoraron. Pero claro, las sábanas y toallas de la habitación no te las cambian por el dichoso programa ese. El estacionamiento está a dos cuadras del hotel pero para llegar es un triunfo y hay que tener cuidado de no entrar en la zona restringida del centro histórico porque te aplican una multa de 100 Euros. En resumen lo mejor del hotel es la ubicación ya que está cerca de muchos lugares de interés.

The hotel is very pretty, quaint and clean. The staff are very friendly and personable. A leaking drain in bathroom sink was fixed promptly and well by Santo. The maids do a great job cleaning. The breakfast is the best I have ever experienced. The staff are very accommodating and provide anything that you ask for. For an old building, the property is very attractive and does not smell moldy in anyway. It's centrally located and all major attractions are within walking distance. Major supermarkets are further away which is understandable but a Carrefour Express is located a few steps away.I will recommend this hotel to my friends and family members.

Estacionamento fica longe do hotel, em uma ladeira e não temos ajuda para a bagagem em nenhum momento, sendo que o hotel n possui elevador. O hotel fica dentro de um convento, as instalações são bem antigas, de um decoração feia, mas achei bem confortável e arejado. Banheiro LIMPO e novo. Jogo de cama bom e limpo. Café da manhã ótimo. Localização muito boa para turistar, restaurantes famosos perto.
Estacionamento fica longe do hotel, em uma ladeira e não temos ajuda para a bagagem em nenhum momento, sendo que o hotel n possui elevador. This property is unique because it's in a former monastery from the 13th century. However, it is in need of routine maintenance and more attention to daily upkeep in the rooms. The toilet was not functioning properly, the soap containers were never refilled in the bathroom, the small refrigerator didn't work and the air conditioning was intermittent. The front desk staff was helpful in arranging transportation, however, and the breakfast was very good.

"Chiostro" has that special charm that an 18th century nun`s cloister can transmit. Unfortunately, the rooms, a bit basic in their furnishings but otherwise good-sized and comfortable, are in need of maintenance. In our case, we would have to turn the aircon off every night, as its noise made it impossible to sleep - luckily, if the room was kept at maximum cool during the whole day, the room would remain cool enough for the night`s sleep. The hand shower would not fit, and could thus not stay fixed, into its socket - hand held showering only! We can not really recommend "Chiostro".

A nice place to stay with very friendly staff. Very easy locaotion to get around the main city. Just dont count on the wifi, the speed max out at 5mbps. I will stay here again when I am in Siena.

The location is great and the staff are incredible specially Matheo. Does not have elevator. The air conditioner is not very cold and the shower water does not have pressure. They offer a small fridge.

It’s very unique to stay in a historic place built in 1200. The room was super quiet thanks to high ceilings and thick walls (you can still hear some noise). Those stairs are well worn but such a nice place to look around. We had a roof-top balcony but it was shared with two other rooms. Only once did we have company but the view and the Siena nights were wonderful. The breakfast had a very good selection for a continental breakfast and was quite tasty. However those mattresses on the beds were saggy and very worn. They definitely need to be replaced. Sadly we had a very poor sleep!

Those stairs are well worn but such a nice place to look around. We had a roof-top balcony but it was shared with two other rooms. Only once did we have company but the view and the Siena nights were wonderful. The breakfast had a very good selection for a continental breakfast and was quite tasty. However those mattresses on the beds were saggy and very worn. They definitely need to be replaced. Sadly we had a very poor sleep!

Fantastic views from our room. Need to be in shape to access the rooms. The access to the Palazzo is a 15 minute walk. You can park at the hotel parking area for about 15 euro/night. The staff is very friendly. You'll need to communicate with them if you plan to park at the hotel since they need to register your vehicle with the police. Siena is truly a medieval marvel and this property give you access to the wonders of Siena.

This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful city. Our experience was marred by poor communication from the hotel and the apparent disengagement of staff. Please be aware that if you drive to this hotel you need to follow the precise guidelines the hotel gives so as to avoid traffic fines. These are however not given unless you enquire in advance and you would only be prompted to do so if you read to the end of their email communications. Travellers on a busy schedule don’t always do that so staff absolving themselves of responsibility does not sit well when the situation becomes abundantly clear on arrival due to notices all over the hotel. Apart from that, Siena is beautiful and this hotel makes a convenient base.

A wonderful historical building. The staff was the best we had in Italy. They helped us with train reservations, local non tourist restaurants, places to visit and so much more. The people made this our favorite stay in Italy.

The Chiostro was a great find. The people are really helpful and friendly. The breakfast team do a great job and are really keen to go the extra mile. The room has a fantastic fresco (not the only one in the hotel) on the wall and many of the ceilings have artwork. Sitting in the cloisters reading or sipping some wine was so relaxing. Upstairs you find a sort of mini museum in a meeting room that looks like it has not changed in a century or two. If you like history, this is a good place to stay.

We stayed on a recommendation of a family member, and we're so glad we did. Check-in was easy, directions were clear, breakfast was provided, and the place was beautiful! When we left early the next morning, the attendant called us a taxi and had the dining room prepare us a breakfast to go, with pastries, yogurt, and bottled water. Extremely accommodating! Can't wait to return!

Beautiful hotel with lovely character. Stayed in a deluxe room with a lovely terrace & great views. All the staff from reception to those in the breakfast room were very helpful. In particular the young gentleman who checked me in, apologies I didn't get his name, was extremely friendly & welcoming.

Unique hotel within an old monastery. Functional rooms and perfect location within walking distance to various attractions in Siena. However, the customer service is lacking. The parking situation is tricky due to traffic laws and is only explained (not very clearly) over the phone if you call up in advance - it would be a lot easier to have an email with instructions. We also had issues with our air on that wasn’t resolved until late into the evening. The reception staff were friendly and helpful on other occasions!

We arrived with a rental car. The instructions given prior were clear, the hotel staff were very informative and helpful. The room was clean and had a nice view of the countryside. Breakfast was included in the stay and was good. The hotel was situated close to the duomo and the piazza del campo. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would recommend it to others.

This is a very nice and convenient place to stay. It has an old historic feel which we really liked. There are no elevators and some rooms are on the second and third floor, so be aware of this. It has a lovely courtyard. we would happily stay there again.

Il Chiostro del Carmine is a beautiful place to stay and well located, a 10 minute walk to the Duomo and the Piazza di Campo. (It’s a 10 minute taxi ride to the train station.) Our room was quite small but very elegant with a view onto the roofs of Siena. The staff were welcoming and happy to assist in any way. Breakfast was included and there was a very good selection of food. I would certainly recommend this hotel and would stay there again if we were in Siena.

Estacionamento fica longe do hotel, em uma ladeira e não temos ajuda para a bagagem em nenhum momento, sendo que o hotel n possui elevador. O hotel fica dentro de um convento, as instalações são bem antigas, de um decoração feia, mas achei bem confortável e arejado. Banheiro LIMPO e novo. Jogo de cama bom e limpo. Café da manhã ótimo. The y they ordered a new light bulb is located about 15 min. walk from the ciity center. Rooms are on the second or third floor, there is no elevator, and this is not clearly stated in the hotel"s site .We are senior citizens, and we had to take our luggage upstairs and down by ourselves, nobody even suggested to help. I think that this should be compulsory information so people can make their choice before the make a reservation. Also the light in the ante-room did not work, we astold the front desk . The next evening the light was not repaired , when we asked why, we were told that a new lilightulb was ordred, arriving the next day". So, if we come to Siena again,we will not return to this hotel
