Elevator floor and hallway outside elevator had dead bugs and spiderwebs. Windows by elevator extremely dirty. Smoking is allowed on balconies outside the rooms. Heavy smokers next-door so every time I opened my door smoke entered my room. Pool was so cloudy. You could not see the bottom and pool area was littered.

It was great being on the water - having chairs, etc. to sit outside of your room and enjoy the view. There is also a restaurant on site - which made it easy for us since traveling via motorcycles. Also, a heated pool...much appreciated in late May.

Parking is scarce, but we took our boat for the week and were able to leave our trailer in a spot with no issues. Left the boat in the water all week, the dock with the gazebo has outlets to charge. Room was what we expected , clean, AC ran like a champ. Next to a waffle house and a 24 hr bait and gas station. Overall our stay was great.

The entire side of the hotel had beautiful views of the lake. Each room had a balcony area and the ground floor lake view rooms had BBQ grills! The hot breakfast buffet was delicious, plentiful, and included table service for drinks which was a very nice touch. There was a boat ramp nearby and several piers where visitors tied their boats and water toys. We saw several people fishing from the piers and lots of people enjoying the pool. The Labor Day crowd made it feel a bit like a family resort and we had a relaxing overnight stay.

Really like that the rooms have vinyl and not carpet made for a cleaner feel. The rooms were clean and nice. Really enjoyed the lake view and that they offer tables and chairs outside each room so you can sit outside and enjoy. Great playground and pool for the kids and a dock to fish off of. Close driving distant to restaurants. I would stay here again. Very great price for what you get.

I was so disappointed in this hotel. I didn't expect anything fancy because it was an affordable hotel but I did expect it to be clean. The room was filthy, dead and live bugs everywhere, disgusting curtains that were nearly falling off the track. The microwave smelled and was clearly not clean. There was an infestation of drain flies that lingered in the bathroom and near our food. Most disturbing, our room door was incredibly difficult to shut. Had to slam it Hard when leaving to insure it locked. I did not feel totally safe with young kids. Also the pool was disgusting!!! So cloudy you couldn't see your feet, full of bugs and hair. Tons of smokers throughout the hotel so you could smell it at all times outdoors. I would never recommend or stay here again.

Pros: Housekeeping very good. Breakfast on first morning was cold because heat not turned on under the buffet. 2nd and 3rd mornings was very good and hot. Basic foods--biscuits, gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs, jelly. Did have wonderful cinnamon rolls. Cons:. Elevator out of order, toilet seat loose,then broke and was replaced. Hair dryer handle had been wrapped with toilet paper?? Pool was nasty and after asking maintenance to skim out trash, it was never done. Renovations started the 2nd day of our stay and nothing was said about it. When we asked the front desk, they said they didn't know about it until that day either. What??? Someone had to authorize this. Very loud banging went on from around 9 am until after 5 pm. Could not believe this was a Wyndham property.

Our room had multiple spiders & spider webs. Had to kill 2 black widow spiders as soon as we got into the room. Alone the edge of the ceiling and wall were spider webs that looked to have been there a while. On the floor alone the edge of the bed, it looks like it has not been swept for a while. Staff was great. But we were told that because hotel is on a lake, they can’t do anything about the spiders. The room we stayed in had obviously had not been pro cleaned in some time. Changing the sheets and towels does not constitute a clean room.

Our room was not very clean at all. The sheets and bedding seemed clean but the curtains were stained and full of cobwebs. The floors were sticky. It smelled horrible. We had to go to dollar general and get febreeze because the must/mildew smell was very overwhelming. This is not what I consider a hotel. It was a motel. It is right next to the road and it was very noisy. We brought a fan and had to turn it all the way up to try and drown out the noise. The pictures online are very misleading in my opinion. Would not stay again.

I'm embarassed for the Wyndham name to be attached to this place. It's absolutely disgusting. Zero cleanliness. First room smelled very bad and was not cleaned. I called front desk and they moved us to another room no hesitation but no apology either from anybody which is not ok in my opinion, they just handed me the keys. Second room was at least semi-clean, no smell but by now we're already pondering whether to leave or not. Wait till you see the bathroom. We refused to shower in it. Only positive was Buffalo Eddies because they were very nice especially Bobby and his wife! But no kitchen staff or food? Come on Hotel... Random complaints - Drunk people outside the door until 3 A.M. You hear everything people are saying next door or even above you. This has to be a Motel or worse and somebody painted Wyndham on it or something... It's horrid. We ended up leaving at 5 in the morning because my wife badly wanted to leave.. So total waste of money and wish I could have it back.. I get hotels aren't "the best" But come on.. Cleanliness should be non-negotiable. Think I'm being rude or too hard on the property... See my pics and this is from the second "clean" room. Black mold all over the caulking and block spots all over the mirror. Disgusting

The staff was very polite. 1st room was covered in mold!!! Even the drapes. Shpuld never have given that room. They did swap us rooms but even that room was very damp.

Beautiful lake view , with seating by the lake to enjoy and well kept pool and area . Room was clean , updated and comfortable. In a safe area. Breakfast was very good , hot , and good choices . The street view rooms are very noisy, all night long from a very busy traffic area .

I was surprised (and happy!) to see there was Beekman 1802 hand soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo & conditioner in my room. The only downside was the conditioner was basically empty & I had to unscrew the bottle from the pump where it was mounted on the shower wall-not that easy of a task-so I could slam the bottle into my hand to get something out. Otherwise the room was upgraded & nice, maybe a newer mini fridge would be good. The street side was looooooud. For such a small town, lots of traffic during the day. I brought my earplugs so I was good & I'm sure the volume of traffic slowed way down overnight. I would ask for the lake side if I ever go again. The free hot breakfast was better than just cereal & cold or shelf stable food.

We've stayed at this property in the past and we had a wonderful experience. This time, we made a last minute decision to stay here while on a quick road trip. The lakeside rooms were full so we were put on the roadside rooms. TOTALLY different experience. There's not much anyone can do about the road noise but it was a miserable night. The 4 lane highway has a major intersection in front of the hotel. The traffic noise kept us awake most of the night. I will stay here again ONLY if there is a lakeside room available. The breakfast is really good and the staff were super helpful. If you're used to traffic noise all night long, you'll be fine.

The hotel has a beautiful lobby, a restraunt, a bar, a nice view. Some things need some maintenance but the rooms are nice and comfy. Our toilet didn't like to flush. We were on the street side for the lowest price and brought ear plugs and needed them for the street noise. Overall, we slept great. Staff was amazingly friendly and breakfast was great. The lady in there is a sweetheart.

Front desk not very accommodating. Blamed us for keys not working claiming we were putting them next to cell phones or credit cards on 3 different occasions. Asked if the had any paper plates one evening and said they didn’t have any. I asked what do they use for breakfast? She then said I will check and then got me a couple paper plates. Aside from a good room and view, I felt like I was staying at a motel 6 instead of the once great Wyndhams I used to stay at. Times have changed.

Loved our stay at the Wyndham Guntersville. The front office was so friendly and welcoming, probably one of the best breakfast I’ve ever had, sure wasn’t microwaved eggs and canned biscuits.

The breakfast was really good. Hotel was very clean. My air conditioning unit did not work. The bar drinks were good. Front desk lady was rude. Lots of fighting due to the bar next door. My babies were scared . We seen so many fights at this hotel. Not enough parking spaces for the residents staying here due to the bar.

Stopped in for the night because the daughter had a cheer competition in Albertsville. The hotel has a lovely view of the lake and the noise is tolerable if you rent a room on the lake side, if not you will be right next to a four lane highway that stays pretty busy so if you are noise sensitive you likely won’t enjoy your stay. Onsite there was a new bar which made for a fun evening without having to leave the hotel. Employees were all nice and welcoming and I will stay here again if ever passing through.

Great value for money, right in the lake. Very clean well kept property with friendly staff. Breakfast was appreciated with the price, above avg quality. Only complaint was the noise level, but my room was on the noisy end of the building. Lake side would be much more peaceful, didn’t bother me specifically

The restaurant Jax grill was horrible for the cost. Spent $100 couldnt eat the ribye or filet. Poor cuts of meat. Shrimp was good although a bit over cooked and we waited over an hour for our food. Room was clean with nice view

Wonderful place to stay on the lake with great views! Lots of places to sit outside and relax or fish on the pier. The free breakfast buffet was amazing, best I’ve had from hotel. Great location close to everything on the south side of Guntersville Lake! Definitely would stay again.

The hotel is located close to downtown and on Lake Guntersville. Hotel is old, needs renovations, new furniture and beds, quieter AC units. Restaurant food was not fully cooked both nights I tried it. Hot breakfast was okay, but they need more healthy choices like yogurt, toast, cereal and fresh fruit.

The staff was great! The room was good for the price. Our room was in the front of the hotel so the traffic noise was loud. Our main complaint was the property was listed as having a restaurant and bar. The restaurant was closed, the bar employee told us they serve food after 4:30, we went at 5:00 the same employee informed us no food served that day. Had we been given that information in the first place it would have been easier to drive in the daylight not knowing where to go. Not sure I would stay there again although once the renovations are done I’m sure it will be nice.

My room had recently been renovated so it was in excellent condition. Full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion was a nice surprise. I didn’t even have to unpack mine. Pay the up charge for Lakeside not only a much better view, but quieter than the parking lot side. Breakfast was lacking the usual variety of most hotels…no cereals, bagels, toast, etc.
