Super 8 by Wyndham Batesville

Things started well. Hotels.com had booked us a room, but there were no rooms left. Cristi helped us out immensely with a room that had a few tiny problems, but we were VERY grateful. Good job! That said, the property needs work. They still allow smoking so the shared areas smell of cigarette smoke. The room itself was clean and the mattresses were decent. But you could see how badly things needed updating in the paint that didn't quite reach the edges and the gaps in panels. FWIW, there was no breakfast, but that gave us a chance to out to the Whistle Stop (highly recommended) so I'm OK. And the price was right.

The room was cleaned but there was a disgusting stain on the carpet next to the bed, no toilet paper holder, unpainted repair in ceiling, blue stains on the bathtub. The price was double the norm because of a Scottish Festival in this small town. Loud neighbors. No coffee in the “breakfast” room because the coffee maker was broken. No good place to take my dog to do his business and stepping in other dog’s poo because there is no garbage nearby and people are lazy. Smoke detectors broken. Broken cover for heat/air. No chair for desk.

The end of the building had a bar-b-q grill there, no problem with that. It is that the area around there has a lot of trash built up there and looks bad. The trash, the trash cans, need to be picked up and dumped. The area around the dumpster was an eyesore as well. There was one trash can by the front entrance that I don't believe was dumped for several days.

The rooms are nice and clean. The only thing thats bad is that there is no elevator to get to 2nd floor. So if you dont want to drag luggage up a flight of stairs might want to look elsewhere. Not much to the breakfast and no sugar substitute

They want an elevator. The upper hallway was so dark that it was very creepy!

Staff was SUPER accomodating but property is dated. No elevator, so needed 1st floor room, no phone in room, TV and lights did'nt work but staff brought a TV right in for me. Door does not open properly and there is no chain lock on door. Not worried about anyone coming in because you have to do a push/shove to open the door and I will definitely hear someone coming in. Room was clean but covers were not straight, which looked lived in. Commode is not stable or it rocks so you pray you don't fall off. Other than that, it was nice enough!

The property needs to be cleaned around the hotel. There was trash behind it, the end towards the dumpster is a mess with trash strewn about. The room I had, the shower handle was gone. I told the staff; she did replace it but could not properly secure it, so it was loose. As it was a holiday, the handyman was off, I guess. There was no easy chair, just the desk chair, the AC leaked, but I was told about that in advance. They have no explanation why it leaks. The TV remotes are not the ones for the TV in the rooms. This is the second time I have stayed there and had the same issue. Rooms should be guest ready, all amenities working, available, and comfortable. If something is not working, missing, leaks, etc. it needs corrected before the guest checks in. I mean really, to have to ask for a control handle in order to use the shower, very inconvenient! I do enjoy my stays there; it is affordable and close to where my family is. It just needs attention to detail.

An event in town really booked up the lodging and we’re were happy to find this. Generally somewhat run down. One ice machine for the whole property and it was broken. If you asked, they gave a pint sized ziplock bag of ice. Coffee machine in the breakfast area also broken along with 1/2 the juice dispenser. TV worked mostly but not intuitive and no directions. But it was pretty clean and quiet. We were glad to get it for the one night we needed and not sorry it was only fur one night.

The guy at the front desk was awesome. He was very helpful and very nice. I do wish they had an elevator. Those stairs are terrible. The hotel was pretty well clean. Nice linens. Although between our two rooms we had three beds. One king size and two doubles. All three of the beds were extremely hard. And they were quite high up.

By far the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in. First room had a broken door. Second room still had bedding laying on the floor. Third room had the beds made and thats all. The shower had used slivers of soap bars. The toilet had feces swirls in the bowl with accompanying pubic hairs. The shower walls and ceiling had what appeared to be black mold. The smoke detector had been bagged. The bedding was stained and one matress had a huge blood stain on the side. Floor had not been vacuumed. Trash had not been emptied. If I had a larger vehicle I wouldve slept in it. Constant supply of Methheads walking around the property. DO NOT STAY HERE

The rooms are not that clean. Found a chip bag in the room. Walls were disgusting. Awful smell all over this hotel.

Was dirty all of it! Never been to such a rundown hotel.store bought muffins and some coffee.very little.Seemed more like a homeless shelter.broken window in room.room smelled of heavy smoke.was a smoke free room,this place just needs shut down or rebuilt.house keeping didnt speak any English b

I travel a lot for business and this was by far the worst room that I have ever stayed in. It was absolutely disgusting! It was room 116 and was suppose to be a non-smoking room. The carpet looked like it was from the 70’s and was completely stained up and had cigarette burns all over it. The curtains had cigarette burn holes in them. The bathroom sink and tub had cigarette burn marks all over them. The outside window was shattered and the lock on the inside window was broken and wouldn’t lock very good. There was a bucket outside the window that looked like someone had been using it to climb in the window. The smoke alarm was missing, the ceiling light was busted out, the two lights in the room that did actually work, were very dim. There were a couple dead roaches on the floor. The vent was dangling down in the bathroom and the ceiling plaster was falling off the ceiling. The toilet kept running about every 15 minutes and was extremely loud. The mirror in the room had fell off the wall and was just leaned up against it and the room smelt like dog urine and cigarettes. This room looked like it was due for a much needed remodel in the early 90’s and yet never received it. I wouldn’t even walk across the floor without having my shoes on. There were apparently no other rooms available and I was to tired to drive, so I slept on top of the sheets. At 3 a.m I was woken to someone knocking on the window but I didn’t see who it was. Definitely would not recommend, it was awful!

Had lots of bugs and small roaches!!!!!!!! It was unbelievable the about of bugs I had to kill and watch for in the room I was in. Carpet looked like it had been there forever.

Disgusting. Don’t even think of going there. Smoking. Weirdo’s hanging around, smells of cat pee. Dirty spots on the sheet. Ceiling pealing. Unless you don’t have another place you can go

I booked this hotel because nothing else equal or better was available. This place was so dirty it was disgusting- DON’T STAY HERE - if you think I am exaggerating just take a look at my pictures. Be sure to notice the one where the smoke detector is missing. Hotels.com shame on you for listing this place.

Dirty, dingy, dimly lit. Filthy carpet. Dirty bathtub. Makic marker drawimg on carpet. Desk cleck did not lnow Maine wad a state wjen he took my ID.

Room smelled of urine and mold. Had flies and roaches. No smoke detector and bathroom exhaust fan didn't work. Carpet and cbair soiled and dirty. My son had what appeared to be bed bug bites on his legs. Hole in carpet and wall. Chain on door lock missing. We came in last minute for a ball tournament and town was booked up or would have left. Cancelled reservations for next night and found other accommodations. Place is absolutely unacceptable needs health inspection. We want our money back. Do not stay there. Have pictures.

The bed cover had a burn hole. The bathroom toilet paper holder was smeared with something. The sheets were very wrinkled. The door was extremely difficult to open. The girl working the desk even had trouble opening it. The light switch by the door didn’t work. The entire place was very run down. Walls needed paint.

It was a nice stay but the floor was just a mess sticky and humpy not easy to walk on

I have never been in a motel that there was no phone. The tv didn't work right. The plugs by the bed didn't work.

First of all I reserved a king bed and got got two double beds half the lights wouldn't work in the room the toilet seat was busted off the toilet but set on there to look like it was good

I arrived early evening to check in; the gal at the desk was very impersonable, lacked enthusiasm, and while she was speaking to other guests she didn't even speak to me at first. I checked in and went to my room and the key card didn't work-I was advised the batteries were probably low, she opened the door and let me in. While the bed itself was comfortable, the room was in pretty shabby condition. There were multiple "patch jobs" on the walls by the bed headboard and also in the bathroom that had not been painted over, the curtains were missing about a third of the hooks holding them up, the window glass had several cracks in it and there was NO LOCK on the window preventing entrance into the room at any given time. HUGE issue with a downstairs room...the bath tub had handicap rails on the walls and what appeared to have been ripped out and replaced in another location leaving holes in the tub wall and the hand held shower fixture did not affix to anything but instead layed on one of the rails on the wall. The shower head leaked and sprayed up on the ceiling and you could tell that it had been an issue for an on going time.The lobby and hallways reeked of cigarette smoke for a posted non-smoking facility, and the breakfast consisted of coffee, orange juice and cranberry juice-although thee was no creamer for the coffee...there were no other breakfast items-I assume the children running around the lobby at check in ate them all the night before and they were not replenished!

My biggest problem was all the noise of heavy footsteps walking down the hallway and people constantly going in and out of the rooms. The room was comfortable, happy with the motel.

Both Kimberly and Rikki did above and beyond for my family and I as there was an issue with the rooms we had booked. These 2 ladies give 110 percent to their customers. I canot rave how much they are the best at what they do. They should train everyone the customer care they do. Will book another stay again and again.

The lady working the desk on days was rude with me and informing me that she decided if I could check in just because I had an local license even though I've not lived in that area for about 5 years. Something about the problems of the local town and their own issues. I was just looking for a reasonable hotel that was better than the place I was in the night before. I was just looking for a quiet getaway for a night with my gf. I don't think I'll give this location or any other Super 8 a chance now. They have juice coffee and prepackaged muffins for their breakfast. I'm glad I found H&H Cafe in Moorefield Arkansas for breakfast and lunch needs.

Great place with great staff

Check in was smooth. The gal who stated she was the manager was pleasant and cordial. She explained they have some local riff raff she works hard at keeping away. A few families who moved out to the area and were having a tough time finding a place to live so there honest enough to say she had some concerns when she noticed were from New Mexico. I assured her we wouldn't cause any problems. She encouraged us to see the Christmas Lights on display near the river. She said they keep coffee full all times. Which i believe is true on her shifts. Not some of the employees shifts. I had gone to get some it was empty i informed the other lady and she was like we don't keep coffee on all nights, all the time. I said oh and left for my room.The room was nicer than expected. You can tell there have been updates. The bedding was wrinkled in a way it may have previously been used. I say this only because we checked out and had to return later in the week. We were given the same room and the bed looked the same.The next day after check in all the staffs attitude changed. As if they knew they had our money. Any time my husband and would walk in their eyes would shift away to not make eye contact or if we do say hi to them or acknowledge them or ask them for anything their tone was displeased and OMG the eye rolling was exaggerated no one could miss it. As many smoke breaks as they seem to take you would think that property would not be littered with them. The breakfasts were nothing.

I had difficulty finding the hotel since my map app kept sending me to a McDonald’s parking lot. I called, and the lady who answered the phone was helpful and patient as she directed me to the hotel. The staff was the absolute BEST!! I was told they are under new management. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I felt safe and appreciated. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I highly recommended this hotel and the new management.

They overbooked and cancelled my reservation causing me to have to make other arrangements last min which of course were more expensive

Found the rate to be high for property/room condition. Room was clean but dated. Front desk never bothered to stand or even greet me upon arrival, nor did she give any info on breakfast or any information a new guest might need to know. If staff would carry themselves on a higher standard it would definitely improve overall experience.

Very nice people at the front desk. Housekeeping was excellent. A very good experience will come back again. Thank so much

This location is close to where my visits are and is close to businesses. The area was clean and the staff freindly.

I was kinda worried due to the other reviews but gave it a shot. This hotel has a bit smaller rooms and the carpets have stains that need to be replaced. However, the hotel was pretty good. I slept ok and it was easy to get to. We had an issue with the AC in the first room and they easily switched us rooms that the AC worked better. We like to super cold. We didn’t see and bugs and no smoking smells. We weren’t around for breakfast so can’t review that. But the rooms had nice size fridges and microwaves which is what we used. Staff was super nice and had no issues. Will stay again if we come back to the area.

Toilet flush was very poor, had to flush 3x every time for it to drain. No breakfast, carpet mildewy, staff smoking in building not good. Great location

The bed was very comfortable and possibly the cleanest part of the room. The carpet was stained but clean. Everything seemed to need an upgrade. The free breakfast was lacking - the third morning, there was no coffee. I could have made some in my room but I ran out of cups. For the price, I was satisfied with the conditions. And did I mention the bed was comfortable! I slept very well.

room was not ready when we arrived . The carpet was not vacuumed.No breakfast available, just coffee. Juice machine was out of order, no milk or cereal for children. The refrigerator in the breakfast area was not stocked, empty shelves.

My stay was ok. The carpet in the room felt gross with no shoes on. The water pressure was next to none. Breakfast was muffins.

Carpet was filthy,stained. Coffee in room, but no coffee pot. Shower head sprays water outside shower. Safety chain on door was to short to even secure door. Advertises a breakfast, only item available was coffee and two muffins, juice machine broken, nothing in cooler such as fruit or yogurt. Main desk staff act as if they have no desire to speak to anyone. Checked out two days early when another hotel was available

Carpet stains. Dead roach behind bathroom door. I didn't want maid in room during my stay. I put trash and used towels outside door. The maid knocked the first day and gave me clean towels. After that I had to ask at front desk for supplies. My room had 1 chair and desk chair. No table to eat at. A standing lamp with no bulbs. The hallway to rooms not vacuumed at all in the seven days of my stay. Free breakfast consisted of coffee, juice and packaged muffins.

Can definitely tell it’s pet friendly by the look of the carpet. Nasty! Furniture in the room was nasty. Bathtub finally drained by the next morning. Went down for the free breakfast which was a joke. Pre-packaged muffins, burritos and the waffle machine wasn’t filled because they were out of butter and syrup. Only thing I can say was the lady at the desk was very friendly and accommodated us with a fan for the room.
