I was very surprised when I walked around the hotel. Everywhere I looked, there were nice little touches. A life sized chess board, foosball table, pool table, little library of books, movies to borrow at the front desk, even a shuffleboard table. There were pool towels in the room already and a full sized fridge with an ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, 2 burner range with all the pots and pans you need to cook in your room. Amazing!

The parking situation was frustrating with all the areas being blocked off. The hotel was overly communicative about the pools being closed and the hot water being turned off but nothing was said about the areas of the parking lot would be closed or exits completely closed off. We also found some front desk staff, not all, seem bothered that we asked questions or needed information. My room was ok except the bed was really terrible.

We stay here as often as we can when we visit Tucson. I gave it 4 stars on the facilities due to the washers not working properly. The rooms are great, the staff ia great the area is not so great. Still we enjoy staying here and definitely recommend the Varsity Clubs.

We were in room 306, facing Speedway (sounded like Indy 500 outside at night), asked to move next two days nothing available. Hot tub nice, pool freezing (heater broken). Clean property, but the front door doesn’t open unless you have a key, as it doesn’t seem to be in a super safe area. Lots of homeless around, didn’t feel very safe. Next time I’d stay in more remote part of Tucson, this area of town is sketchy, loud and angry (lots of honking horns). Room ok, shower water pressure meh, kitchen had all you needed but two burner cooktop was too small for two pots at same time. Service was very on point (thank you Mary), but location is a definite off point.

In general, the place was really nice, clean, and in good condition. Negatives: - The toilet seat was not clean. It looked like someone had recently pissed on it. - The lobby and room reeked of toxic chemicals, often called "air fresheners" or scented cleaning products, which cause harm to biological organisms.

This has to be the cleanest hotel I have seen in years!!! Seriously, they must have a fantastic housekeeping Dept! The front desk staff starting with David and Mark are very customer oriented. Ali and Felix Fidel( tv for digitally challenged in all fairness it was the remote) The pool is excellent not overpowered with chlorine, jacuzzi actually the right temp. The kitchen well equipped … highly recommend. Hilton can be proud of this place.. their Mgr to be commended… thank you!!❤️🤗

The hotel structural a modern. However, I encourage the owners to consider to renovate. I enjoyed my stay for many aspects but the first thing that caught my attention as I walked in was that the decor was dated and the carpeting etc was worn and, in places, stained. If not for the location of the hotel I would look elsewhere for my stay in the future. Sorry. Nice people.

The first room we got smelled pretty bad. We transferred into another room, and it was still bad. Kind of like a musty/mouldy smell. There is a pool on the ground level and so were the rooms. There is tile and carpet in the rooms so I figure there is a lot of water being brought into the room after being in the pool. Over the months/years the smell must have started this way. I got an allergic reaction to the odour and couldn't breathe very well so we left and got a full refund. The staff are great and were very helpful!

Staff was friendly. For 2 of the 3 nights we stayed there though, there was a terrible sewage smell in the lobby, which prohibited us from using the games and lounge in the lobby. When I finally asked the front desk what was going on, they said there was some pipe cleaning going on and it would go away soon. Someone should have slipped a letter under everyone’s door explaining the situation. He said even he didn’t know what was going on.

Beware of road noise! Family stayed in a two bedroom unit (#108) which happens to border two of the busiest streets in town. Near constant road noise with one revving engine after another. 'Speedway' is an appropriate name for the street, but 'Raceway' is more fitting with the number of racers showing up at all hours to floor it at the next green light. If it weren't for all the fans running, we would have had to leave altogether. Pool is nice, front counter did what they could (offered earplugs), but can't say that I'd stay there again.

On a corner of two very busy streets, and if on streetside hear noise of traffic all night; free internet isn't secured (my Samsung table and Pixel phone warned me). Of course, desk could do nothing and insisted since I could log in with a password I was "safe." I checked other places I stayed (Days Inn, Econolodge, etc.) and they all had secured internet. Huge rooms in King suite with daybed, two tv's, kitchen implements for cooking.

Great hotel for an extended stay! The size of our room with separate bedroom, pull out couch, and full kitchen was great! The pool area was very nice, and we loved the game room are for our kids. I also loved that laundry was free. That was huge plus for our extended stay. Staff was very kind and the place was clean.

The people were very nice. The building and amenities were good. But the road noise from the street was incredible. Apparently people use the main street out front for drag racing at all hours of the night. It was impossible to sleep. We asked for another room, but they were full. We had to buy ear plugs, and that helped some, but not a place for a decent night's sleep, even with running the fan on high. It is unfortunate as I don't know how they can fix that.

An incredibly spacious two bedroom and two bathroom suite was more than we expected. The soaker tub was a lovely bonus. It would’ve been perfect for a longer stay. Our kids were over the moon with their own King size bed. We also made soup in the kitchen for a late dinner and appreciated the full-size table.

This may be the nicest stay my wife and I have ever had, and we travel a good bit. This is apparently a timeshare property, but that didn't effect us in any way. This property looks like a resort with beautiful grounds, pool, lobby area and rooms. Fantistic staff including the Manager, desk clerks and housekeeping folks. Super nice, immaculate room with bedroom, full kitchen, living room and bath. The room rate was unbelievably low, too! 5 stars, can't say enough good things.

I called the hotel to request a credit card authorization form which is standard practice when the employee traveling will not have the company card used to book the room. The varsity was great. Couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. The location is not so great with Speedway being so close. The rooms on the street side are very noisy and the area seems a little unsafe. All of these are not a fault of the hotel. Would stay again if room was in opposite side.

The bed was very comfortable. The sitting area was also nice, with a 2nd TV. The kitchen was great - it allowed us to prepare two meals each day and only eat out for one. Several convenient places to shop for food nearby. The swimming pool and hot tub were clean and refreshing, a great way to unwind after days of hiking and exploring Tucson. The area around the property is not great to walk around, but the property felt very safe, and it is convenient to drive to many attractions.

This ended up being one of the best stays. We checked in late (11 pm) and couldn’t get a hold of anyone so was a little nervous. When we got to the hotel doors were locked but someone opened them after a minute, but still made me nervous. There are a lot of homeless people around but they were harmless. Great location, quiet.

Have been to this hotel before, so rooms were clean, pool and jacuzzi were great. We even used their grills for cooking! Front desk was amazing in getting my accomodations taken care of. Wish they had a breakfast bar, restaurant, or even a bar, that would really make it a 5 star hotel! The only issue this time was a lot of chaos going on around the hotel, police, sirens, etc. Got a bit nervous. Otherwise, good time.

A luxurious hotel that was perfect for our needs. The two bedroom suite provided privacy for our friends arrangement for sleeping accommodations with a large full kitchen/living room area for a very functional common area. There was no breakfast available on-site but with a fully appointed kitchen and a little forward planning, you can make your own, healthier, low cost breakfast that fits your own taste. A longer stay, would have allowed us to take advantage of additional facilities available such as full sized barbeques, pool and hot tub.

Hidden gem of a property. Very welcoming staff, David up front is always wonderful. Love the kitchenette rooms with tons of space. Nice patio, pool/hot tub, and grill setup. Nominal resort fee, but room rates are usually quite good to make up for it. Just a heads-up, no breakfast but they do have solid coffee out. Security is good and parking lot is well-lit and safe as well. I stay in Tucson often and this is my go-to place.
