Located 5 minutes from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park, this beautiful property has everything you need. A 4 Diamond AAA rating, it deserves it. We did not participate in the Spa services. Check in is at the main Tenaya Lodge. There are 3 accommodation types: Lodge (hotel), Cottages and Explorer Cabins. We stayed 2 nights in the Lodge (hotel) and 1 night in Yosemite and 2 nights in the Cottages. There are resturants, a bar, 2 Gift shops, a Deli, 1 shallow indoor pool and 1 outdoor pool heated, a Spa, a daily activity sheet most of which are included and a few for a fee (ebikes, glass blowing, professional Astronomer star gazing talk). Kids love the gold panning, rock climbing, indoor pool nightly movies, and adults also join the kids swimming, archery, star gazing through the Lodge's telescope. Dogs are allowed with doggie pick up bags for guests to clean up after their dogs. Dogs were well behaved, no barking noted. Nature hikes, night Flashlight hike, hiking trails and also by request shuttle service from one location to another. Grounds very well kept, staff friendly and accommodating making sure all guests are welcome. Conference rooms available for groups. We are a senior couple and enjoyed our stay in both Lodge and Cottages. In the cottages, there are 3 rooms for 3 families under 1 roof. Parking for 1 vehicle per room. We had a 2 queen bed room with all amenities you would expect, including a fireplace, which we did not use as it is summer.

This property was modern, clean, & engaging with clients. Restaurants were pricey & food was mediocre but based on the remote location understandable. Pool was clean with an awesome poolside bar & 2 hot tubs. Morning coffee in the room was actually Starbucks Kcups which you don’t find at many places. Lots of activities otherwise only downfall 45 minute drive to Yosemite park central village

Excellent property that is very close to the south entrance of the Yosemite National Park. The restaurants within the hotel are a bit expensive but very good. The pool are is very good. They have separate kids pool and adults pool. They also have two hot jacuzzi pools. They have lot of activities that are included. They have fire pits and s'mores in the evening that make it very special for kids. Overall great place and would stay here again

The lodge is only a few minutes away from Yosemite entrance which made getting in the park before it gets to crowded very easy. We loved spending an afternoon after hiking at the pool at splash pad. Our 3 year old loved the smores bar!

Beautiful property Close to Yosemite Large spacious rooms. Like the indoor pool and the s’mores station. Plenty to do. Only have two negative comments The indoor pool needs a good cleaning or maybe even a resurfacing and the shower/tub grout needs to have the mildew scrubbed off. Otherwise I was very impressed at how clean and nice the hotel was. Also the Resturant needs a new chef 😟. This being said, I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Ttenaya Liodge

Do not book this hotel. I woke up with over 50 bug bites all over my body, and at one point ants or bugs were crawling on my face while I slept. Despite reporting this to the manager, there was no help, no investigation, and no response to my follow-up email. For the price they charge, the living conditions were unacceptable. This place is not clean, not safe, and management clearly doesn’t care. Spend your money elsewhere.

We stayed in a cottage at Tenaya Lodge for two nights and we liked it. The room is the cottage was spacious and clean. We had access to a sitting area just outside the cottage which was nice. The cottage turned out to be a room in a 3-room cottage. It was still very nice but I actually expected an independent cottage based on my booking. This could be made a bit clearer on the site. The main lodge (walking distance from the cottages) has a beautiful and spacious lobby. There are two swimming facilities: indoor and outdoor. The floor in the indoor pool was a bit dirty and for some reason the hotel decides to play kids' movies above the pool very loudly. If you don't have kids or your kids are a bit older it totally ruins the experience of an evening swim. The common areas could be a bit cleaner. Even though we very much enjoyed the additional hot tub close to our cottage, the windows and doors in that building haven't been washed in a long time.

Beautiful property with lots of amenities. The king bed and bedding was very comfortable! Loved the Keurig coffee in the room. The shower was nice with good pressure. Bathroom was spotless and we enjoyed the mini fridge in the room as well.

Very beautiful location and nice hotel. Room was nice size. The bed wasn’t comfortable felt it had a hump in the middle and dips on both sides. Other than that the room and experience was great. Good in the restaurant was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel. You still have 1 hour drive to Yosemite valley.

The room was not ready past check in time and the staff initially was not really apologetic. After we showed our frustration of not being able to go to our room to change (we had early dinner reservations), we were offered complimentary breakfast for the next morning. The rest of the stay was amazing! The hotel has some good activities to enjoy, and it is really pretty, nice and comfortable.

Location is great, rooms are nice, amenities seem appropriate for the price. However, the staff is hit or miss about half the time. We checked in on memorial day at around 7 PM and stayed for 2 nights. They advertise 3 dining spots on the property, but don't highlight the fact that how they operating hours are anything but standard. For instance, their fine dining restaurant, Embers, apparently is only open b/w Thursday and Sunday and operates b/w 5 PM and 9 PM. The pizzeria is a outside their campus, and was closed for the season. Which brings us to the subpar hospitality we received at the only available dining option at 8 PM deep in the wilderness of Yosemite. My family showed up there at 8 PM knowing well that it closes at 9 PM. They were walked past a ton of empty seating (like 80% empty) in really desirable areas, all the way back near the dish rack and restroom area. When asked to be placed elsewhere, the receptionist rudely claimed that "we're closing soon and this is the only seating available". My wife had to fetch another receptionist and complain before being seated appropriately. Vegetarian options were few, but well done. Wifi is absolute trash and I can get better speed on decades old dial-up connections, and this is after the memorial day crowd left. Room service was apparently always unavailable via phone and our messages were ignored completely. Couldn't get someone to replace our broken coffee machine in the room until I called the front desk.

From Carla at Concierge, Bobby and Michael, the very thorough and fast Bellman, Anthony, the very talented Bartender…everyone made our trip extremely special. The view from the balcony was amazing! We enjoyed the property, but not all staff were friendly and welcoming. The reception area was nice, but deli and pool area needs improvement. Thursday night we were trying to order food/drinks, and the service members felt bothered by us being there. Not a good experience.

If you want to feel like a second class guest, then book your hotel room via hotels.com (Expedia) and stay here. Our room wasn't ready at 9 pm when we arrived ( 1 bed missing) and we hardly got any service because "we booked our stay with Expedia". Only because my husband stayed strong, we ended up with the same king size bed and extra bed room option. Ridiculous! If you don't want Expedia bookings, don't offer it! The next day we wanted to use the outdoor pool area with the hot tubs (beautiful weather outside) only to find out that the outdoor area was closed down that morning for the season. Bummer! We used the indoor pool but that one is in dire need of remodeling. So, we won't return. We will gladly stay somewhere else, where they are happy about "Expedia" guests. Hotel room was clean and roomy.

Pros - family friendly amenities including a game room (though several of the machines were broken), well-maintained grounds, and close to the park entrance (about an hour’s drive to the main sights). But, they need to train their staff better for $400/night. We arrived at 2pm and were told that check in wasn’t until 4 but they would prioritize our room and text when it was ready. By 4:15 we still didn’t get a text - so much for the priority. It wasn’t until our entire family unpacked that we realized the AC wasn’t kicking on. During a heat wave, this should be checked with every room turnover. We were assigned a new room without an apology, and after packing up our stuff we entered a room that smelled like an ashtray. When we called down to the front desk, the response was “this is a non smoking hotel”, as if we were liars. They ended up sending up a young employee and his first reaction was “whoa someone’s definitely been smoking in here.” Again no apology from the front desk, just handed us a new key. We later asked to talk to a manager and she offered us breakfast vouchers, but it soured our first day. We requested housekeeping and they never came - called the front desk and again no apology. They also told us if we want anything more than trash removal we need to specify, which is odd for a so-called 4 star hotel. Overall they have the ingredients of a lovely hotel, but need to improve service.

June 2025 This was our second time staying here, and we still loved our stay as much as the first- maybe even more. We stayed at the lodge and enjoyed the coffee shop, smores, pool and even the game room. The onsite restaurant was quite good for dinner. Our king room was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. My only negative is the food/ drinks( non alcoholic) were quite pricey. The Pizza place that is onsite but not directly at the lodge was very expensive and our rigatoni literally came out in a microwaveable type plastic tin. I mean at least take the extra step and put it on a plate and add a splash of parmigiana cheese to make it look like some effort was made. However this was my only true negative and I would absolutely stay here again. Little FYI, although you are only 2 miles from the entrance, it is still another hour to the valley floor. Do not try to enter the park after 9:30-10 or the line backs up even past the lodge and it will take 2 hours to enter.

Beautiful grounds and many family activities included in the stay. Washer and dryer are free, you pay for detergent. The rooms are clean but the style is a bit outdated but well kept. We met an outstanding front desk host by the name Riki who was so genuine and helpful to people around him. The staff in general was very friendly. They have a small coffee shop and a very good quality restaurant called Jackslopes but the menu is not tok big and after a few times you wish there was more variety. Outstanding food, though. The coconut milk risotto was incredible. The only real setback was the elevator is very slow and there is only 2 in the whole resort making it very difficult to move if you are in the 4th floor as we were. The indoor pool could use some renovation but it served the purpose. We would definitely go back but hopefully there will be more variety in the menu.

This place is amazing. Location for Yosemite visits can't be beat. Great staff, nice infrastructure, accessible laundry. The one thing that needs desperately to be improved is the quality of the food. By the second day we were traveling 10 miles down the road to avoid eating in Tenaya's restaurants. The good news is that Tenaya has gotten everything else right. Now all they have to do is get pizza and burgers right as well!

Overall nice property, but quite a hefty price tag. The breakfast is very american and it is sad to see that all cutlery and plates are paper/ plastic.

Great property. Very clean and well maintained. Easy access to/from Yosemite. However on 10/13/24 it was clear they did not have enough staff to serve every one staying at the facility. They only had one restaurant open on site and wait times were so long most folks were just going to the grab and go for a premade sandwich or a bag of chips. No other restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. I wouldn’t return just basis the restaurant situation. We went for lunch and the kitchen was unbearably slow (ordered nachoes) despite it not being full.

The staff was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The dinner at Jackelope was a hit or miss, breakfast buffet was awful. It’s located in close proximity to Yosemite but if you’re going to go to Yosemite, make sure you make a reservation. If you don’t make it to Yosemite, the lodge has plenty of activities. It’s very family, friendly and pet friendly I will return in the fall.

Location to Yosemite is great. Restaurant food was not good. Expensive. Example: eggs served cold and rubbery. Fresh fruit was soggy, old.

Perfect location for visiting Yosemite. Friendly staff, helpful and accommodating, clean rooms and newly remodeled. Comfy bedding, coffee machine with daily coffee refills. Nice game room for kids. Nice pool area. Food was the only huge disappointment. Extremely expensive (they take advantage of the fact that you don’t have an alternative unless you travel to the next town which is quite a drive away), but the worst is not the high price, it’s that portion sizes and quality are really really really bad, the absolute worst is the breakfast buffet, only topped by 120$ for three small pizzas and three drinks (soft drink, a wine and a beer) that were simple frozen industrial ready pizzas served on paper plates and drinks including wine in plastic glasses - an absolute disgrace and waste of money served in an ambience with strong chlorine smell.

Pleasantly surprised by this diamond in the rough! All staff was fantastic, pools were amazing and a short distance from the South entrance of Yosemite. Food was great at Jackalope restaurant on property. Don't bother trying to find souvenirs in Yosemite, save time and aggravation and buy your gifts at the lodge, similarly priced as souvenirs in park. Only nicer!

Really good property.. really well maintained. Only downside was that the restaurant had some long waits for dinner.. so worth going down earlier to grab a vibrating device. Food and staff were good. Had to ask for tables to be cleaned properly but staff were quick to do that. Arcades were good.. cycling was good.. archery was really good. We don’t get a chance to do the wall climb as they were pretty strict with the timings. Hotel provided guided walks which we didn’t have time to take up, but would have for sure with more time. Rooms were super spacious and super clean. Really happy with the hotel. They had telescopes in the evening to see the stars and moon which was a very nice touch, and kids and adults loved the smores by the fire. Unlimited too. Pools were very nice! The indoor one was nice to get away from the direct heat of the sun, but the outdoor was good for anyone that wanted to top up tans. Really good family geared atmosphere. Was a bit of a drive away from Yosemite.. so if you wanted to see sunset at the parks, it would be a long drive back in the dark (which I wasn’t comfortable doing personally).

Had a fantastic stay at Tenaya. Stayed for 2 nights in the middle of our road trip, needed longer. A beautiful place in beautiful surroundings. Closer to the Yosemite gates than i had realised. All of the amenities that were included were excellent, didn’t have time to do them all. Did manage a bike ride to the waterfall. Considering the hotel is so big we didn’t pass a single person on our ride. So peaceful and serene. Then we climbed the climbing wall and had a go at archery. My daughter (and us) loved it all. So much more to discover. The room was clean, loved the fireplace, made it so cosy. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely go back.

Property was well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable for 3 people. The On-site restaurant was a little pricey (expected at a resort) but the food we ordered was tasty. The chef gave generous portions for a split pasta dish. We didn’t get to do any of the activities; but they sounded fun and nice to have the options. Only Con: low water pressure in shower.
