Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa

A couple of days before my departure, I noticed a foul smell coming from the bathroom sink. I reported it to the front desk. I was told that the engineering staff would address the problem; whether they did, the stench did not go away. When I checked in, I was told that there were various discount packages for food consumed at the hotel. The pricing of those packages was anything but transparent. The receptionist offered to email me a sample menu, which she thought might shed some light on the discounts being offered. I never received it. The hotel is labyrinthine. The designer or designers should have never been allowed to practice architecture. The carpets inside my room and on the hallways were dirty. As a saying in German has it, I stayed at the Estancia La Jolla three times: the first time, the last time, and one time too many.

Hotel was lovely and well located . The “ pool view” room was not pool view unless you craned your neck from the little balcony but the room was a nice size . A very limited room service menu for dinner despite the extensive poolside menu for lunch which was odd . All in all a very nice place to stay.

Wonderful stay it was a last minute booking for 1 night and we hated to leave. The front desk, bar staff and especially the pool bar were exceptional! Will definitely be back
