Check in was good. No on-site laundry. Rooms open to the outside. Really close to the beach and restaurants. Pool is nice and heated. Breakfast was really good. Rooms were large and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Shower has one of those detachable shower heads that you can use as a wand. The whole angle of the thing was off and annoying. Huge closet. I'd stay again.

Overall great location. Solid included breakfast with ample options. Heated pool and grounds are great. The entrance driveway is difficult to find since the are no signs. Parking is tight but free and there is street parking if no spaces are available in the lot. Guests seem to have difficulty keeping cars parked in just one spot and often multiple spots are taken by one vehicle. Staff is overall friendly and helpful. Rooms are partially updated but a good size, some with ocean views. They are a very dog friendly and neighborhood is very walkable.

We enjoyed the stay at the hotel. It was clean, quiet, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complain was the parking was a challenge to find later in the evening once everyone is at the hotel, and the parking stalls are very narrow, so a few would be unusable because some cars would take two stalls.

Excellent place and very comfortable pool. The hot tub was too hot and needs to be lowered to around 101. Breakfast was excellent and kept clean and stocked. The bathroom towels were terrible. They were like sand paper so they need fabric softener and/or some new fluffy towels

The breakfast was really great! We also loved the pool and hot tub. Our room was overlooking the pool, so it was a bit noisey. The free parking was such a great perk! Would recommend for families.

The rooms were beautiful, clean and quite spacious compared to other hotel rooms. Liked that they had two shower heads, one that could be lowered to shower kids. We were on second floor and there was some road noise but I didn’t find it bad at all. The breakfast was good, there were lots of options. The downside was that the pool was freezing cold. It says it’s heated but it sure wasn’t anywhere near as warm as the other holiday inn we stayed at the night prior. The hot tub was wonderful but tiny, luckily we were the only ones there. Overall a good stay, and I’d stay here again.

Great for families. Quick walk to the beach. If there was one thing I would suggest is cleaning the carpets. The facilities are clean. However, the carpets in the room were filthy. I think it’s time for a deep cleaning.

Hotel grounds are well kept with a beautiful pool and small jacuzzi. The rooms need some extra love, our room had a clogged shower and some mold along the window sills. Thankfully the staff responded quickly to the clogged shower and it was not a problem the rest of our trip. The best part of this property is its proximity to the beach, a short walk to the beach with a few good dining options nearby. I forgot to mention they have free breakfast buffet.

Disappointing stay. The room was small, the door was not sealed properly and we could hear road noise all night long. The slamming of nearby doors was horrible as well. There was no indoor community space to sit and talk or play cards. It was all outdoor and the weather was not conducive. The dining room would have been nice, but they locked it after breakfast. Thankfully we only stayed 2 nights, but I would never stay here again. Final night was the last straw when I felt a bug crawling on my face waking me up. Disgusting!!

Had ants and a giant spider in our bathroom along with mouse droppings. Trim around bathroom door looked chewed through. Room didnt smell good. Could see light all around the main door to the outside nit a very secure feeling. Toilet ran off and on entire time making it hard to sleep. Uncomfortable bed. Breakfast made my husband sick so we went out for breakfast the remainder of our stay. Not what we expected from the Holiday Inn Express brand considering that is why we chose this location.

Close to Windansea Beach. Room was clean and comfortable but dark. Breakfast was good and staff were wonderful. Next time will book a room facing courtyard. Parking was included and refrigerator was a small but most adequate. Recommend!

Very close to beach. Only problem was HVAC unit in room was not rugged enough to warm the room. We had to request a space heater which worked okay. Room 115 needs an upgrade to the HVAC system.

This hotel was great. We stayed for 4 nights enjoying the area. The pool and hot tub were fun. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Amazing area. So close to the beach, walked down with kids every day. Location felt safe. Would definitely stay again.

Very thin walls. Heard everything from doors closing at 1:55 to traffic all night that made you think you had a window open. AC unit kicked on for 7 sec and shut off about every 15 min. Shower head was 5’ off the floor. Very low. Also could see daylight around the door Good location

Hotel was clean; staff were helpful in addressing our concerns right away - we mentioned the sofa bed was a bit small for 2 young kids (6 and 3) and they immediately brought a cot for my second child so they could each have their own beds. Amazing location (20 mins to many tourist attractions; good for young families; pool was slightly heated and great hot tub for everyone. Good selection of breakfast foods. Reasonable price considering location and with free parking! Would highly recommend.

We got a free upgrade from 2 queen beds to 2 queen beds and a pull-out sofa which was perfect since we were three guests. Very much appreciated! The staff also helped us with late checkout and storing our luggage. Rooms were clean and nice and the outside area with the pool was clean but did show some signs of wear

Great customer service. They called morning of check in and reported a HVAC issue with our room and gave us an option to change rooms or keep the room and provide back some partial compensation. They went above and beyond to please us where they could’ve just not mentioned anything. We appreciate their attentiveness to customer’s concerns.

The property was beautiful, rate was amazing but the reason I’m so happy with my stay was because of the staff! Every front desk employee minus one was very welcoming, helpful, accommodating to my disability with a service dog and beyond! Great people.

The GM & staff were welcoming and helpful, even offering upgraded room when we checked in. The property was beautifully landscaped. The Courtyard tables let us visit and picnic with local friends. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. Very nice stay!

This hotel was great. We stayed for 4 nights enjoying the area. The pool and hot tub were fun. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Amazing area. So close to the beach, walked down with kids every day. Location felt safe. Would definitely stay again.

We booked two rooms. Both were not clean at all. One with hair all over the shower/bath area the other with the last visitor’s used underwear still under the bed. Broken shutters and generally dirty looking. The free breakfast was decent and a nice area as well as the pool area clean. The pre-packaged gluten free bread was all with spots of mold and u fortunately our daughter’s only choice for gluten free items. She didn’t notice at first and had some then felt bad as well as that killing her willingness to eat there. She’s not picky just limited in what she can have. With the Hilton name and price of our stay we did not expect the poor level and condition of the accommodations

We enjoyed the stay at the hotel. It was clean, quiet, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complain was the parking was a challenge to find later in the evening once everyone is at the hotel, and the parking stalls are very narrow, so a few would be unusable because some cars would take two stalls.

Great location to spend time at the beach (5 min walk), visit nearby colleges, and eat at a variety of restaurants in La Jolla. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Lindsay. Towels are clean but not as white as other Hotels; so if bleached white towels are important to you then this is not the place for you. Standard complimentary hot breakfast. Husband was disappointed that they did not have hot Oatmeal, just instant Oatmeal. Overall we were happy at this hotel.
