The staff themselves were very helpful and super kind. However, I found it odd that people checking in can't enter the lobby as the door is locked. You're directed to go through the night check in door. The problem with that is that when I attempted to check in, the receptionist wasn't there. Then when I went to check out, that receptionist didn't even notice me because they can't see you. Also, there was no shower curtain in the bathroom?? The floor inside the room was dangerously slippery, and at one point, someone (I'm assuming a member of staff?) unlocked the door with a key card with no notice or knocking and walked in, then pointed at the bathroom??????????????

The night clerk was polite but soft-spoken and easily confused. She did apologize for the mess from the renovations. Overall I was disappointed in the lack of any breakfast food or even coffee. The floor in my room needed cleaning. Only 2 pillows on the bed instead of the 4 shown in the pic.Airport shuttle only available if I planned to stay over the night I returned.

Front desk door was locked with signs asking to go to a side door. Front desk guy was friendly enough hidden behind bullet proof glass and a speaker/microphone system. Got checked in with ease and went to our room. As soon as we opened the door we were hit with a very strong chemical smell that I can only assume is what a crack house smells like. Bed was not very comfortable and looks like tub had been painted several times to cover something up. Ceiling looked like it had multiple water damage issues. At check in we were told to come down 10 minutes before we wanted to leave and the shuttle would take us to the airport. I told the front desk person we needed to leave at 4am. He said no problem. We went to where we were supposed to meet 10 minutes prior and there was no front desk person and a sign saying front desk staffed from 6am-2am. If you need assistance after 2am please go to the hotel down the street which was a 5 minute walk. After calling the phone number for the EconoLodge front desk and no answer, we walked to the hotel down the street and were told shuttle doesn’t start until 6am. All the cab companies were the same phone number and went to VM. Had to set up an Uber account to get a ride to the airport.

It’s by the airport that’s about all the positive things I can say. Shuttle service stops at midnight and wouldn’t pick us up even though they agreed to in written email communication. Place is a dump and super sketchy people living here long term.

Econolodge CLT Airport offered a comfortable stay at a great price, the $5 airport ride option was convenient. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again for the value and convenience.

Every single thing about staying here makes me regret it. As soon as I pulled up I could hear loud blaring rap music across the parking lot. One of the staff was "cleaning out the shuttle van" and had the music turned all the way up. Perhaps this is a perk of staying here. Thump thump thump... You are treated to a check-in that doesn't take place in a hotel lobby, but in a dingy harshly lit room with cobwebs and bulletproof glass and spackle and God knows what else on the walls and floor. You are treated to a poster that almost takes up the whole wall outlining their rules such as: your room is only serviced twice a week, your towels are only replaced during that time and you cannot exchange towels any other time. Fees for this and that and what forms of payment and Id they won't accept etc. The rooms are accessed by a keycard like many other hotels. If you lose your keycard here, it is a $20 charge. While I have never been booked into a jail, this is EXACTLY what I imagine it is like. I have a lot more to add about this review but hotels.com puts a limit on how many characters you can use here. Filthy, toilets don't work, sketchy clientele, broken worn out run down hotel.

The area was convenient because it was near the airport and a couple of restaurants but the hotel needs to be renovated. The room was not that clean, particularly the bathroom. I had to check in and out through a window which was unwelcoming. The hotel charged for shuttle pick up at the airport which should have been included in the total package cost. Please revamp services and the look. It is in dire need!

When I walked into the room I went into the bathroom and behind the curtain qeres 2 huge bugs crawling on the sides. It grosses me out. If it wasnt just a place to sleep for a few hours before my connecting flight, I would have found another place to stay.

You get what you pay for, our bed and pillows were stained. The bathroom looks like a bathroom from an abandoned Detroit apartment complex. Bugs on the ground as well. Holes in the bedding and pillow cases.

Very disgusted, ash on the toilet seat, cigarette butts under items, semen stained sheets, a stab in the side of the bed through the sheets. On top of that I notified the staff a few minutes into me actually staying that I had to step out to visit family and asked if they could at least change the sheets/catch what they didn’t clean up. I came in the next morning and they didn’t even attempt to do anything, telling me the cleaning staff doesn’t come until 10 and began to try to blame their filth on me

This motel is directly beside a Waffle House. Many people hanging around in the parking lot after dark. Upon entering the room we saw a cockroach crawl under the bed. Upulstered chair beside the bed was completely covered in stains on all sides. I saw so many reviews with just a "poor" review so tried it anyway...what a mistake! Do not stay at this motel. It was horrible!

The room doesn't come with a blanket its just a fitted sheet and the flat nonfitted sheet and thats it Non smoking room but when i walk in the whole room smells like it was heavily smoked it oh and the towels were not clean

They're were fake eyelashes on the sink, long black hairs on the floor, every towel had a hair on it and when i pulled back the sheets i found hairs on the pillows. I've stayed at this econo Lodge before and the room was never this bad but I just finished a 12-hour drive so I put my own sheet over the bed and had my own blanket and my own pillows, just went to sleep and got up and left. For the price of the room it served its purpose Staff was friendly.

It was ok. Never had a room without a closet or hangers for my clothes and my water for shower was never warm but cool. Air conditioning was nice and cold. Bed was comfortable.

We’ll, the room looked clean when I got there but to my surprise the tub was dirty. The air conditioner in the room was leaking water on the floor. The bed sheets were dirty. The only thing clean were the sheets.

Shower didn't work :(. Luckily had running water in the sink and I had to do a rag bath when I woke early before going to the airport. This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. $70 for almost less than nothing.

Hotel room was not clearly marked so searching for it in the dark was sketchy. Sheets had a stain on it. As clean as a room in an aging building can be- its obvious that the owners are not interested in making improvements.

The room overall was okay, jut to stay its fine, even when the pressure in the shower wasn't good i can take a shower. The bed not very conformable and the pillows not conformable at all. If you dont have a lot of budget it's good but if you can expend more money beyter to look a better place.

The noise level between rooms was low, but there were lots of people outside until late saturday night, and I could hear every word. The fridge was super loud. There were liquor bottles and broken glass around the property. The AC didnt work all that well and it leaked all over the floor. It was good enough but no way I'd pay more than 50-60 a night. I wont likely stay here on my next visit to Charlotte.

It's affordable, but they told me online, I'd have to pay an extra $40 just to check in early when there are rooms already available but I get there and see they're charging people an extra $20 to check in early. I waited in the lobby until almost 3 to be able to check in. So many people swarm in trying to scrape together money to get a room. It's just one of those environments that feels like a bad neighborhood. Doesn't feel the safest. A car crashed through the fence when I was there. Just lots of people hanging around there and loud, all in the parking lot and property. You don't have to pay a deposit if you get a smoking room, which is backwards to me, but it gave me a roof over my head and what I needed for my stay.

I didn’t stay in this hotel as I was rejected by the front Desk for no reason. Despite my plea to even pay an extra money, the hotel rejected me as they told me to contact Expedia for my refund and clarification. It was a terrible experience as I got to the hotel 12am and had no place to sleep as a stranger. The explicit and implicit cost of this experience can’t be quantified. Expedia need to do better with this. It cost me an extra $350 to get a place to sleep and get a good sleep this night

I canceled the trip on the Hotels.com app, and this hotel will not release my money to me. They put a hold of my card even though I did not check in. I clearly canceled at 11:17 an ( I have a screenshot) on the Hotels.com APP!!! The manager that I spoke to was very rude and condescending and dismissive of my very complaint. They are con artist and thief’s. They deserve zero customers. Shady business. Despicable. As far as I am concerned, should be arrested for theft

Area not good at all. This place should not be an Expedia consideration under any circumstance. Too many undesirables around the property creating an unsafe environment. In fact, I paid not to stay there! I immediately left and went somewhere else.

The staff was lovely, and it was convenient. Also, paying for parking in uptown is very pricey. The bus stop (number 8) is at the corner, and the light rail is about 14 minutes away with 200 spots, and it's free, but they do go fast. It is an old hotel.

Location is very good. 10 minutes or so from airport. If you're short, then you wont mind the toilet being really low. I'm 5ft 5, and toilet was really low for me. When you check in, the woman is behind a glass partition. You're in a separate room and the window a/c is blaring, so you cant hear what she's saying. Bed was comfortable and plenty of parking. Waffle House 1 minute away. At least room was clean, no bugs.

The floors had not been washed for a very long time. Feet were black from walking on floors. I spilt some water and cleaned it up with some tissues which were very black with dirt. No access to second floor other than stairs. This was supposedly a very good room according to check in staff. Close to airport and a very reasonably priced Chinese buffet restaurant across the road.

Shabby linens (burn holes in 70s style comforter) they look to be in the process of improvements, though. Police on the property wrapping up with something that didn't look like an unsafe situation when i arrived so i went ahead and checked in. Mostly clean, no more dirty than i tend to find at absolutely any hotel (and i travel a lot for work) so fine for the price for sure, and i spray my own disinfectant when i arrive anyway. New furniture except for a ratty side chair, but a cheap metal bedframe that squeaked awful with any turn. The check in person waived my deposit for the stay with my prepay. Cracker barrel, Ichiban, and waffle house within walking distance. I chose waffle house for quick and simple-practically in the same parking lot, and the staff there were great (an employee who comes in off duty paid for my meal- the waitress said he picks one person a day. Very limited TV channels, i don't watch it but i like a familiar sitcom or a hallmark movie to lull me and aside from like 2 local channels there were news channels a shopping channel, tnt paramount and usa- 2 thru 13 channels only so i ended up turning it off but it wasn't loud around the place so i slept fine without it
