There’s no iron/board and coffee for the visitors

The information online said that there was available ironing boards upon request, but the Inn is currently under construction and is missing some amenities.

Overall was good, free parking on site kind of small

We enjoyed our stay! We stayed in the family room which is 2 separate rooms connected. The kids enjoyed their own space. The beds are pretty firm. Only problem we had was the wifi didn’t work for 3 days then when it did come on it was really slow. Other than that it’s a nice place newly remodeled and we loved it! Would stay again!!!

Parking was easy

Simple, clean, no frills. No fan in the bathroom. Nice parking and wifi. Good place for a quickie overnight.

Very clean, neat, and well maintained. Great location if doing business at LB Memorial Hospital. Not the best LB neighborhood, but parking is contained on site.

The property looked older but was nicely renovated. The room was very clean and immaculately updated for the price. Would def stay again. Parking is tricky if you have a larger vehicle

We had the worst experience at this hotel. Pictures and reviews (rated 8+) suggested recent renovations, but the reality was very different. When we arrived early, there was only a tiny check-in window with no staff, so we left and returned after 3 pm. Check-in was fast through the app, but the room was awful, a strong, unpleasant smell hit us right away. Staff admitted all rooms smell the same. I had to buy an air freshener just to tolerate staying. The shower was unsafe with no non-slip mat, and I nearly fell twice. The toilet seat was loose, and the bed sheets were dirty, even the replacement set had stains. Overall, the room was smelly, unsafe, and unclean. Horrible experience that did not match the photos or rating.

This was a last minute trip to an event at the queen mary. Was worried about previous reviews I had seen about the inn and although it is on the outskirts of downtown it is on a main road and easily accessible. I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Room was clean, actually it was spotless. Smelled of bleach. So did sheets. It was a room on the smaller side but the bathroom was large and all clean and new appliances. There was a mini fridge in the room, good lighting, bed wasn’t the most comfortable but was fine for a one night last minute spur of the moment event. AC was the star of the evening as it was a hot summer night and the AC blew super cold and had climate control so all night we were comfortable at the right temp. Attendant was nice, check in was quick and someone was available at all hours just in case there was something needed. I recommend this place if looking for a cheap last minute stay in Long Beach.

2 days before arrival, the hotel messaged me that i needed to check in by 6PM or they would give my room to someone else. Expedia and Hylands messages said checkin was until 11pm. I had to move my flight to ensure i could check in! Upon arrival, I was told I couldnt pay for my room with Amex or discover- this is not mentioned on any booking page or website. The room had food still in the fridge from the past tenants. There was no body wash or shampoo in the shower. There is no dead bolt or security lock on the doors to the rooms.

Basic accommodation with a mini fridge, microwave And a small coffee maker. It was VERY clean! Parking is adequate if you check in early. Lots of fast food within walking distance. There are several other Highland Inns In the area by the same owner. Don't know if if they're all as nice as this. I would definitely stay here again.

They were kind enough to let us check in a little early, as we were going to a music festival that ended late. The room had been refurbished recently and was immaculate. It also has a great mattress that I had to ask about -- would love one.

Upon checking in the room was not clean. The bed was slept in and unmade. There was excrement on the toilet and the towels were wet. Obviously the room was not cleaned and was smelling. The person who checked us in, Ben was extremely rude and was shouting at us. Avoid this hotel at all costs. A total nightmare.

The photos for the rooms were misleading (much smaller, especially the restroom). The room also had a very strong stench of cigarettes as well, which was off-putting for a multi-day stay with non-smokers.

The train is right outside of the hotel so it’s very noisy and there’s a lot of homeless in the area

Overall I thught the inn was well maintained and clean. The only issue I had was with the bed. It was hard as a rock.

The area was just pretty noisy, likely due to the outdoor atrium of the motor lodges style hotel.

Got the double room with 2 king beds…fantastic! The only thing lacking was bedside lamps rather than the overhead. Would definitely stay again. Was nice too as walkable options to food/coffee.

The room was neat and clean. I like a firm bed but this bed was hard. The bed was covered in plastic that made me sweaty while sleeping. The outside was well lit up at night but the light leaked in around the black out shades. It worked for a place to lay my head down but not the most comfortable.

Room was bare minimum. One outlet at bedside, no bedside lights and no outlet at desk. No phone in room and NO HANGERS or drawers for clothing. No closet and only one rod and two hooks for clothing only.

It was complicated. My booking was non exsistent at first. Booking on a different day. I finally got thedate corrected but had a charge for it, At last tomclose the deal I had to pay a $100 deposite;mBut they said It was initially $50 if I would use my credit card. What? I was looked down on and felt like I was treated like a thug. Im painter so the paint stained close gave that imporession

“Property manager” was rude, a narcissist and was anti gay. I booked this property last minute to prepare for a festival in the area, I had friends (3 gay men, 1 female) meet me at my room that way we can all leave together. They came sooner than I was ready. The “manager” called me to meet him downstairs, told me he didn’t want the cars parked inside (understandable) but then said he didn’t want “those” people here, I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he didn’t imply anything into “those”, he then said he needs them out in 10-15 minutes, I let him know that we are pregaming while I finish getting ready and having this conversation takes time away from that. I promised him we’ll all be gone in 30-45 minutes but I will ask them to move the cars in the meantime and then my registered guest and I will be back by 3-6am, alone. He says “okay, 10 minutes”, I then asked if “he knew any woman to get ready in 10 minutes?” As I walked away. And true to my word we left by 6:30, just under 40 minutes, he then calls me as we’re leaving to say he want all cars gone, I told him they were, only my car is there. He said he wanted that gone too. I asked why, he said he didn’t want us there any more. We turned back and he was there waiting and I asked him what’s going on, he said I didn’t follow his rule, and that we were trash people throwing a party at his place even though we already left was there with my guests less than an hour, at an early time and we did follow his posted rules.

On my second stay at this hotel, I was consistently impressed by the friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent location.

The guy at the window was not very friendly when checking in, gave me an unnecessarily hard time because my first name on my card was my abbreviated name with matching middle and last names, I showed him my ID, even had to go as far as offering to show him my banking app to verify it was just my abbreviated first name. I’m not sure why he made a big deal out of it as it’s not much different than my ID. No one else has ever had a difficulty with this in my life until him. So we decided not to extend and just book elsewhere the following night to rather avoid him, he was a grump for sure. Place was super clean though so that was nice!

I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Hyland Inn during my recent stay. We reserved two rooms and needed to use two very small, compact parking spaces for our one large vehicle. The manager knew this as he was the one that checked my elderly parents and ourselves in. Despite this, the manager decided at 1:00am to pound on our door, screaming and demanding that we move our car. The interaction was disruptive, irrational, and also unnecessarily aggressive. When we tried to explain the situation, the manager became rude, unprofessional, and started yelling. This was completely unacceptable behavior, especially from someone in a leadership position at a hospitality business. To make matters worse, we were asked to leave, which was both humiliating and shocking. What should have been a peaceful stay turned into a stressful and unpleasant ordeal. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, and I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Additionally-The room was clean. Mattress uncomfortable, very thin pillows and comforter. Not the best neighborhood and parking is very tight.

I really like the room. I thought it was unbelievable. It’s a shared double room which was fantastic. The initial process to check-in was not good because whilst it is a hotel policy not to check in at three if you have a room available why wouldn’t you build some Goodwill and just give it to the customer it was already waiting. I hate the fact that these hotels are still trying to charge US$50 to check in two hours early other than that pleasantly surprised

Found area dreary

This location was a perfect spot. Close to stores and transportation and freeways. As a native that comes home often to visit family and events, this will now be the spot I stop at to get some rest. It was clean and easy to check in and out.

Convenient location, close to food outlets and supermarket…Short distance to tram / transit station.

The area looks unsafe. Full of homeless people around the hotel. Also lacking a lot of amenities. We had to ask for toilet paper and soap after we checked in. Overall very bad place.

Great location on Long Beach. Lots of convenient dining within walking distance. Only issue was that the TV wasn’t connected to cable

Very close to Long Beach Airport and cruise terminal. Family rooms are huge with microwave and refrigerator. Great value and the check in was seamless as well as check out . Beds were comfortable and plenty of hot water . Free parking and just so close to a grocery store and restaurants. Just bring a tub stopper for the bath . Wonderful manager and cleaning staff .

i like this hotel it’s was quiet and the staff were nice the only think i didn’t like was the parking lot hard to find other than that everything was perfect. ohh and the have good breakfast.
