The care the staff show makes a difference. I was asked what brought us to town and I told them I was here celebrating my birthday. The receptionist excused herself and came back shortly saying that they would like to upgrade us to a suite for my birthday! That was such a nice thing to do, and they've earned a customer for life. There were so many things to do and see in Sacramento that I want to keep coming back. The hotel is older, but it is kept up and has what you need. There is a hot tub, pool, gym, and free continental breakfast. The ladies working the breakfast room were all smiling and wanting to help you find what you wanted and were making waffles for anyone who wanted them. Everyone there just seemed happy to be there for you. The bed was perfect. Not too soft, not a flimsy mattress. It was the first time I've been able to sleep in a hotel bed. It also had the most reasonable price in the area. I'm completely satisfied with my stay. Thanks to everyone who made it that way.

Staff at the front was nice, but it's in a crappy neighborhood with homeless people all over the place, inside is pretty worn down, gym only has cardio and the TV was busted (screen literally shattered)

The hotel was nice, clean, not too outdated. Key cards are a pain... The staff was friendly and helpful, the hallways were airconditioned. Parking was easy and convenient, we enjoyed the hot tub and pool. There were only a few things, that weren't deal breakers, but could make the stay better. 1. the shower had pathetic water pressure... probably a water conserver in the shower head... but it made the shower experience difficult, rinsing off was tedious. 2. the shower/toilet room didn't have a exhaust fan.... and it made it so the room had ... smells and shower moistness longer than it should have. 3. the beds were fine, but not great. They didn't have box springs... and they could have used them.

The price was right and it had a pool and a much needed hot tub after a long drive. They had a decent breakfast and free parking so again it was a good value hotel. I didn’t see any bars or hotels within walking distance but for me it was great for a one night stay…..

The room was clean. Our only problem was that the bathroom fan was broken, so the room smelled mildewy. But there was no obvious dirt/dust. The beds are very firm. I liked that the location was so close to downtown. There is a homeless population nearby, but the actual property was clean and didn't have any homeless. It is Sacramento, so I pretty much expected them on every corner. The breakfast was great! Front desk was great. Overall a good value.

I marked the hotel as dirty only because there were bugs in our room’s bathroom. There were little bugs crawling over the bathroom floor and shower mat. My partner and I noticed around 1:30AM one night, and when I told the receptionist the day I was checking out they said “Well you should have told us when you found out, we can’t do anything to help you now since you’re going to check out today.” Best part of the hotel though was one of the ladies who helped around the breakfast area who went above and beyond to help serve anyone around her. I wish I got her name so more people can look out for this kind lady.

Bed sheets were really old and with stains. They need to be replaced, hair on the sheets, probably from staff (we hope). Area around hotel not great since it is next I5, but the property yard and parking was fine. But we wouldn't stay again.

This is an older property. Our room overlooked the McDonald's drive thru so we could hear people late into the night. We stayed there and went to an A's game, so it was fine for one night. Lots of unhoused people in the area but the motel was secure. I didn't like that I got a text a few hours before we arrived saying our room was ready. Then when we arrived before 3pm (check in time), the woman at the front desk said there would be a $10 charge to check in early! I said fine because I wasn't going to sit in my car for a hour. Later on in the transaction, she said she would wave the fee.

As per usual, my stay at Governor’s Inn is always top notch. Rooms are spacious and immaculate. The best part is the warm and friendly greeting from the delightful staff that work behind the counter. The female staff member that sets up the breakfast on weekdays is very delightful as well. Always a pleasure being staying here.

Governors Inn was in a great location in Sacramento. The hotel itself was a little outdated but the rooms were huge. And they provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash and even a makeup remover wipe. Parking lot was big and felt safe.

Friendly service. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom and shower was clean. Closet was good size with a good amount of hangers and room to place suit cases. Plenty of enterances to enter closest to your room and parking by each enterance. No microwave in our room, but could use the one in the lobby. Lots of comforting seating in the lobby with tables to eat. Continental breakfast was average with great friendly help.

Room was fine. No room service available. We had to ask for coffee and condiments daily. Also had to ask for toilet paper. Toilet seat was very low like made for children. Air conditioner was loud. Otherwise ok.

The woman who staffed the check-in/out counter when we departed was wonderful, friendly, informed and guest-oriented. The same cannot be said of the gentleman who staffed in the night before, who was aloof and totally unengaged.

We picked this hotel for the free shuttle to the airport as we had a 6 am flight out. Were told on check in that shuttle did not start until 6 am. Desk clerk was rude upon check-in and just kept repeating that the website states 6 am.

The entire staff that worked during our stay was friendly and every request that was asked of them was presented with a smile; whether they worked at the service counter, in the breakfast room, or drove the shuttle. It was an amazing experience and if I ever come back to Sacramento, I know exactly where I want to stay!

Stay here often even thou not actually in Midtown or Downtown. Staff is usually wonderful but this time I arrived at 1:47 after receiving a text from hotel stating room was ready- women at desk was beyong rude for trying to check in before 3 turns out she was the general manager... not sure why she is in the hospitality business? If this was my first stay it would have been the last.

I arrived early and they let me check in early so at 11 instead of at three and it worked out really well. They are very pleasant. We have a shuttle to the airport and it didn’t take too long to get back-and-forth so that’s good. Really friendly Staff.

This hotel is in a great location. It’s right off I-5, a short drive to Golden 1 or Old Sac. The area around the hotel is a little sketchy, but the property itself, from the parking lot, to the lobby, to the rooms, are well maintained. We felt perfectly safe, and would absolutely stay again if we are in the area.

We were in town to attend a graduation at The Golden One Arena and the hotel is very close to the venue. Very comfortable beds. Lots of parking. The breakfast room attendant was very helpful a friendly and even made the waffles for you.
