Included parking was a plus. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Hotel is old but well maintained. Bed was comfortable and the heating worked well in chilly SF. No elevator so if that is important this may not work for you. Certainly worth the money if you are looking for a convenient place to stay. Just be aware that the beaches in SF are cold and foggy so this is not a beach place. We would definitely stay here again.

First of all there is no parking. So beware!! There's a dozen spaces for about 40 rooms. They are taken at all times. Had we known we would have to drive around city streets for 30 min looking for an open space to park we would never had booked this hotel. At 11pm , exhausted we had to drive around for 30 min at least looking for a spot and we finally did half mile away. Me and 3 adult daughters walking that far and late on streets we don't know if dangerous or not with all the homeless. 2nd, we got in the room and all needed to shower, but the hotel shower wall mounted shampoo container was empty. We had to use door dash to bring us a bottle of shampoo $16. Highly inconvenient. .

Stayed for one night while in SF and I would stay again. The area felt safe and the free onsite parking felt secure. The front desk was very helpful. The room looked updated and was comfortable and quiet.

No frills motel type hotel. 3 floors with no lift. I had to drag heavy suitcases upstairs & rather annoyed being told "Our regulars always ask lower floor rooms @ booking". Good position & off road self parking. Rooms are fairly basic but clean & ticks all boxes. Electric socket was loose & dangerous & needed screwing shut. Tram car stops outside & very convenient to visit city centre for $3 each. Cafes & restaurants & a 7-11 within walking distance. Pity the walkway to a supposed beach was beng dug up. I would stay again but ask low floor room

The room was big and clean, and so was the bathroom. No clothes closet, just hangers on a wall unit. I couldn't get the tv to work, but the owner came right away to show me. There was no elevator so you had to carry your bags up the stairs. The hotel was not noisy and it had free self parking! Very easy access to Ocean Beach, just outside of San Francisco. Good rates too.

The place is filthy. That's really all there is to say. The place literally looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in over a year. Dust everywhere, people's hair on the bed and sink. The fridge was filthy therefore useless. The housekeeper walked in on me in the morning an hour and a half before check out time even though the do not disturb sign was placed on the door.

Great location, 1 block from Ocean Beach, 2 blocks from West Golden Gate Park, Judah N line trolley outside the building, several restaurants within walking distance; great coffee shop next door. The rooms have been updated with new flooring, paint, lights, window coverings, bathroom fixtures and flat screen TV with Dish Network. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows, the room was very large by today's standards. There were other reviews about dingy, thin towels, however, we did not experience that. The room was overall comfortable, however as others noted, not much insulation between rooms, so a bit noisy, the door to the room did not fit well so a lot of noise came in that way. The main issue I had was that the room needed a good deep cleaning. The baseboards, windowsills, heater vents and sky light were filthy, the walls and windows needed washing. I cleaned all touchable surfaces with bleach wipes and they came back mostly clean, but the other areas, yuck! We didn't turn on the heater because it was so dirty. Parking was OK, staff we encountered were pleasant. For the location and price, our stay was good. Some vagrants, but none bothered us, many locals walking in the area and at the coffee shop.

I loved the location and the room size was great. There was dust on the night stands and the floor was dirty. The back of the bathroom door was also gross. The wifi didn't work so the tv usage was limited. I'd stay again though

Somwhat expensive for what it was. Room was clean but smelled of humidity. Hallways seamed clean but smelled like urine. Not many shops or restaurants around but very close to the Golden Gate Parc which made it perfect for the concert at the polo field (+/- 20 mins walk).

I was concerned walking in. It looks/is old- HOWEVER-it was one of the cleaniest property i have ever stayed in- down to the baseboards. It is not fancy,yet has all you need.fridge, microwave, blow dryer and a very comfortable bed.if we return to the area, we will stay again.

The staff was pleasant. The room was nice. Having the beach across the street was a real pleasure. Really convenient for public transportation. But trains are pretty loud so not the place to stay if you’re a light sleeper

I was a bit apprehensive about staying at this location despite the good reviews. The building looked a bit older from the outside but still decently maintained. When I went into the room I was VERY surprised. It looked like it had been recently remodeled. Beautiful flooring, great paint colors, and very clean. Bed was comfortable and the room was very spacious. Easy to move around the room. FREE PARKING. Overall a great stay, just a few cons: No elevator I'm aware of and I was on the 3rd floor. Stairs aren't steep but its not easy if you have lots of luggage. The bodywash was out in the containers (refillable). Parking is a bit tough. It takes some maneuvering to get out of the parking lot due to having poles in the way and it IS limited. Other than that, THANK YOU for a beautiful room!

The room and bathroom were clean and looked recently updated. The water pressure in the sink was extremely low, a little more than a trickle, the shower was fine. Hotel is noisy, not from people but from the main door, ice machine, and plumbing. The bed was comfortable but only had three pillows on a king size bed, four would be better. I would recommend it for closeness to beach and GG park, it is pretty far from most tourist attractions.

The building itself carries sound, so you’ll hear every guest come in or out of the building (the exterior security door slams loudly), and the ice machine was wildly loud. It was down the hall, around the corner and at the bottom of a flight of stairs, and it might has well have been in my room. The floors are pergo, so they’re quite hygienic, but there’s nothing to absorb sound. Some runners and acoustic treatment in the halls would make a huge difference.

Excellent for the price. This is a great location, right near the ocean and the Muni, easy walk to Golden Gate Park. Room and bed were clean and comfortable, but half the outlets did not work and there was no way to plug the tub for a bath. Quiet at night, but around 7 AM a great flurry of activity starts, with trains squeaking, loud slamming doors all around (the door latches have an annoying, explosive sound), excited Europeans in the hallway. Do not expect to sleep in! But good coffee at the cafe next door. I enjoyed my stay despite the small issues with the room.

The room was fine. The location was great. The noise though from those walking in the hall or in the room above mine was terrible. They really need some sound insulation or at least some carpet. The noise is the main reason why I'll not be back.

Great price and location for a room, within walking distance of restaurants and not too far from Golden Gate Park or the zoo. The room was updated and felt like new. However the walls are paper thin and you will hear everything in the halls and the adjacent rooms, like it or not.

They indicate that their front desk is open 24/7 but when my daughter arrived at 10:30pm the lobby was locked. No one answered the bell or phone after several attempts to reach. Hotel is NOT ADA compliant despite their claim. Front desk agent insisted that “just one flight of stairs” was accessible and would be fine for me (a wheelchair user) then after calling for a refund because we could not stay there the manager called and yelled at me the next day insisting again that they are accessible.

The front desk staff never answered the bell after the initial check-in. When I returned three times to ask for things, the clerk did not arrive when I rang the bell. I also called a number of times from the room and there was no answer. I needed more soap because there was one bar of soap provided for four people. Three towels were provided. We had to share towels. The bathrooms were not clean.

Clean, right near the beach and several restaurants. When I had a problem with the room, the manager was not helpful. He offered me to switch rooms but wouldn’t try to just take a look at the problem. He spoke very fast, seemed impatient, and was hard to understand.

Great location, 1 block from Ocean Beach, 2 blocks from West Golden Gate Park, Judah N line trolley outside the building, several restaurants within walking distance; great coffee shop next door. The rooms have been updated with new flooring, paint, lights, window coverings, bathroom fixtures and flat screen TV with Dish Network. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows, the room was very large by today's standards. There were other reviews about dingy, thin towels, however, we did not experience that. The room was overall comfortable, however as others noted, not much insulation between rooms, so a bit noisy, the door to the room did not fit well so a lot of noise came in that way. The main issue I had was that the room needed a good deep cleaning. The baseboards, windowsills, heater vents and sky light were filthy, the walls and windows needed washing. I cleaned all touchable surfaces with bleach wipes and they came back mostly clean, but the other areas, yuck! We didn't turn on the heater because it was so dirty. Parking was OK, staff we encountered were pleasant. For the location and price, our stay was good. Some vagrants, but none bothered us, many locals walking in the area and at the coffee shop.

Great location with the ocean across the street and proximity to restaurants, SFSU, and Golden Gate Park. It was much cleaner and felt safer than the Union Square area. The terminus of the cal train was a little noisy, but we got used to it.

If wanting to stay near Ocean Beach, this place is great. Right next to Muni and steps to the beach and Golden Gate Park. It’s a little old, but rooms are nice and clean.

This property was perfectly acceptable for the price. The free parking was a huge bonus because parking is scarce everywhere in San Francisco. Everything worked as it should. The bed appeared clean and it was comfortable. The area is very busy with foot traffic so I never felt unsafe. There’s a 7-11 and restaurants that I walked to and Celia’s By The Beach is amazing Mexican food. The bus stops right outside the hotel. I didn’t get a chance to use it but this would be very convenient for getting to the downtown area. This also means bus noise from outside. I couldn’t hear people just the buses. And the ocean is right across the street. The bathroom needs a good cleaning. The building looks rundown. There is no elevator. The ice machine looks old and dirty. If you are looking for superior accommodation this is not the place. But if you are looking for a cheap place to sleep then this place will suit your needs.

Staff were very accommodating. I found the location to be awesome. You can jump on the Muni and get into the city very quickly and cheaply. There is also a great coffee spot next door and you can walk to the beach in about 3 mins. Compared to the other rates I was looking at during the time, the prices were really good.

I love the location and the coffee next door is some of the best I've had. It's right next to public transit which makes it easy to get around town but it is extremely loud. You can't hear anything from the other rooms but can hear the smallest tiptoe from the hallway. The beds are clean but the walls are not. All of this is worth it to us for the location and price. Just bring some ear plugs.
