The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. I requested an earlier check in, which the operator told me it world be a $50 fee. Thankfully they did not charge me that fee. The elevators, only 1 out of the three were in service during our stay. This was a nightmare. Apparently, this is a frequent issue.

Nice hotel. It was clean and comfortable. Area is very walkable, and also easy to get to any area of the city from its location. Multiple elvators were out of service, so it took a lot of time to go up and down to our room, which was a minor inconvenience. Overall a good stay.

Great location in San Francisco. Close to cable cars and safe neighborhood. Big bonus is the e-bike rental included in the stay. Will stay again if returning to San Francisco

Overall it was great. What I didn’t like: no water or coffee in your room - you have to go to the lobby for it. The elevators took forever every time, and it was very noisy in my room. Outside of that, it was fa great location. If you want to walk and get food be prepared for a hike! Lots of hills!

The hotel is located in a safe area and staff were available to me at the front desk at all times. This was a very comfortable stay! However, there is an additional destination fee of $38 USD a night to pay for items like the fitness center, bikes, coffee and bottled water. That being said, availability of bike sizes/ebikes was limited and bottled water was unavailable one morning that I had asked.

This hotel is top tier. Cable cars cross right in front so you do get some noise but nothing crazy. The bar set up is so cool and the bartenders know what they’re doing here. Everything in close proximity

Most elevators were not working, and at times all of them were out of order. We had to use the service elevator or at times we’re told to use the Stairs!! You would think with this inconvenience they would wave the $75 a day valet parking for a hotel that doesn’t even offer self parking.

3-night stay; 2 adults and 2 teenagers in a corner two-double bed room which worked well. Excellent location at the top of Nob Hill on two historic cable car lines. Good hotel but slow lifts and the windows were filthy. Breakfast expensive but options within walking distance - Honey Honey recommended! Enjoyed the free morning coffee and chilled water in reception. Safe area.

Location is ok, the hotel itself needs a bit work. We booked 2 different rooms and none had water. Could be way cleaner, the shower and the bed felt really dirty. Also one of the bed was broken in our room so it wasnt comfortable. The food at the restaurant is not good as well.

The location was central and good, close to the cool neighbourhoods like North Beach. The room was nice enough but the hotel felt a bit dated. There was a subtle weird smell which felt like it needed fresh air. The staff was polite and hopeful and overall it was good stay. I chose this hotel as it seemed like a good value and at the end it was an ok price for the room I stayed in.

We stayed at the Stanford Court years ago when it was still a Marriott property. However, the prices were always too steep to return and we have enjoyed staying in smaller boutique hotels. But, we arrived last weekend to check into our boutique hotel to discover it did not have a/c as advertised and the room was incredibly hot. At 10:00 at night we were having to find an alternative and thankfully there were rooms available here. Maybe we lucked out, but the rate was not too much higher than the boutique hotel. Perhaps because we checked in so late, we did not receive any of our VIP amenities. But, we were thankful to grab a room close by. Beware of the steep hill with luggage! Our only mishap was that there was a stain on our sheets - could not tell if it was blood or wine. So, we needed new bedding really late at night. The person who showed up did not bring the right sheets. About 30 minutes later she returned and told us she was not housekeeping and it was not her job to make the bed, so we did it ourselves. The hotel offers free water and a refill station, which is a nice plus. If the rates are right, we still stay here on our next trip!

It wasn't very clean the property. We only stayed for one night so didn't really feel like complaining. The sheets didn't feel too clean, and the bathrooms either. The only reason why we stayed in teh city was because we were returning from Napa, if you have to do The same book at the airport hotel instead.

Hotel was overall nice, but not as clean as I would like it. Our bathroom was not very clean when we checked in, hair in the tub and on the floor. If we were staying more than one day I would have complained. The location was okay, not super close to anything to walk to. Cable cars were right in front which was cool. I would pick a different hotel if we came back to San Francisco

The hotel rooms are spacious (we stayed twice during our trip - 4 nights in a bay view room which had stunning skyline and distant bay views and 2 nights in an atrium view room which was smaller but still spacious). The bay view rooms are on the outside of the hotel so we could hear the clanking of the cable cars but this didnt keep us awake. The atrium room was very quiet. We didnt hear any noise from within the hotel in either rooms. The beds were very comfortable. The layout of the check in/reception was a bit odd - it looked like temporary work stations but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Its a short walk downhill to Union Square and places to eat but a slower walk back up! We really enjoyed the stay here and would recommend it. Its very convenient for the cable cars and China Town.

Good location. Good option for parking although takes time to bring car around. Nice gym. Very slow elevators during high use times. Room windows open but make noise from the outside wind. Breakfast setup is smart and fast if in a hurry. Price was reasonable for what was available.

We arrived a little early and they graciously held our luggage for us while we wandered the city. When we checked in, the front desk girl kindly upgraded us to a corner room with a beautiful view. The room was very spacious and clean, and we loved the ambiance of the hotel. The location was great as it was kind of central to many things we wanted to do. We walked a lot and took the bus a lot and it was very easy to find our way around.

When I checked in for 3 nights I was initially given a VERY small “premium King Room.” I’ve stayed at Stanford Court 5 times , whenever I come to SF and this was by far the smallest room ever, so I asked for an upgrade and was given one without issue at same rate. Thank you!

Husband and I came to stay for one evening. Upon walking into the lobby, I was confused because I am used to the traditional checkin station with staff dressed up to greet you. Here, the check in desk (if you can call it that) is just a low table to the right of the front doors with a computer on it. I saw a woman sitting in front of the computer and thought she was a guest using the computer. I didn't see any signage either. It was only when I saw her speaking to some other guests that I realized that was in fact the check in desk and she was hotel staff. She was dressed in casual clothes and wearing jeans. No nametag (that I could see) so it was easy for anyone to miss it. Aside from the unusual checkin location/staff appearance, the actual check in process was nothing unusual. Parking was very expensive at $82 but probably par for the course in downtown San Francisco. The room was nice and my view was great. The bathroom had towel warming bars but we didn't notice that until the morning after. LOL. The iron was dirty when we got there so another one was requested. The only thing really annoying was that our car took a long time to get to us even when we followed the instructions to request it 10 minutes ahead of time. It took 20-25 minutes to get our car.

The room layout is completely bizarre. The TV isn’t facing the foot of the bed. There is no desk. There are no power outlets on one side of the bed. This is great value for money but is by no means a high end hotel. It is best for the type of traveller who will only be in their room to sleep.

The size of the room and location were great but there’s much left to be desired for this hotel. I’m not sure why this hotel was highly ranked among users because it was average at best. Cons: - bathroom was outdated and had mold - only one of 3 elevators worked during our 3 days stay, resulting in long wait times to go up and down - corner room had an issue where the wind could be heard loudly at night and woke us up at all hours of the night - coat rack was in the bathroom for some odd reason -amenities fee per night for use of bikes (however it rained during our duration and we couldn’t use them), gym (outdated), and bottled water - very spotty WiFi

Great location. Day time check in staff were not the best. Not friendly. Weren’t even dressed appropriately (sweatshirt sitting at a desk w a computer we had no idea they worked there). Didn’t greet us nothing. However the car parking attendant was wonderful! He was full of information and pleasant. Really appreciated his help and information.

I was very excited to stay at the Stanford Court, unfortunately the lack of transparency with hidden fees and applying extra charges to my stay ruins what seemed like a nice hotel to book with. My overall experience is upon checking in, generally hotels charge a safety deposit for damages, I’m used to paying 100$ which is a normal/expectant hold. However this hotel charges 100 per night, which is not listed anywhere in the policies and fees with Expedia. Expedia is very clear and provides an invoice with what is due at property including deposits and fees. So I was blindsided by this amount of a charge. Mind you people come to visit and for leisure and that throws people’s budget off. Had I known about this, I would’ve properly allocated the deposit or booked elsewhere. The receptionist didn’t care about this miscommunication and was very cold and dry. Upon checking out you pay your destination fees but somehow they also charged valet to my stay, when I had no car. Thankfully, as previously stated Expedia is clear with what is expected at property and includes how much the destination fee is. Because of the higher charge being requested to pay at checkout I asked to clarify the charges and discovered how they “accidentally” charged me valet. They removed it, and I paid the amount equivalent to my receipt on Expedia. It could be an honest mistake. But always double check the charges and for what. Personally just left a bad taste in my mouth, this hotel is not it for me.

When I checked in, I specifically asked for a quiet room close to the elevator (as I use a walker). The room turned out to be one of the furthest from the elevator. Further, it was on the Powell side of the hotel—cable car noise. I trekked back down and asked for a quiet room as originally requested—not on Powell. She assures me the new room was much better and even offered an accessible room ( which I don’t need, but appreciated her thoughtfulness. I trek back to the new room. It’s even lower down directly on Powell and the cable car route. I didn’t want to complain again and just sucked it up. However, by rush hour it was a nightmare of noise in addition to being a very rundown room. I called down again at 8 pm to see if something else was available. The new shift had someone who listened, and immediately moved me that night! I wasn’t expecting the move till the next day. That’s service. And the room was much improved in terms of noise and decor.

The Stanford Court Hotel was the perfect base to explore the sights of San Fransisco. The location is central and felt very safe and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and has stylish decor. We loved the iconic city views outside of our window. Stanford Court is a great affordable hotel in one of the nicer neighbourhoods and we will definitely stay here again if we visit San Francisco.

Excellent location, central to just about everything! At the intersection of two cable car lines, Chinatown is next door, and North Beach is within walking distance. Next door to the Fairmont and Intercontinental Mark Hopkins without having to pay their prices.

Great area if you like food, don’t mind walking, or use public transit. Right next to Chinatown, 30 minute walk to both Fisherman’s Wharf or the panhandle for Golden Gate Park. Everything was clean and staff was friendly. The breakfast is definitely not worth $36 but it’s decent. You should walk to Chinatown and grab some breakfast to go for $2-5 and it’ll be much better.

Room was clean. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom pocket door was a little fiddly (hard to close) but that was minor. The hotel was surprisingly affordable for the fantastic location and amenities. Walkable to Union Square, Chinatown and North Beach. Restaurant food was decent. Gym was well equipped. Really enjoyed our stay!

We loved our stay here. The food at the restaurant for breakfast and the food and drinks at dinner was great. Tony was our bartender for multiple nights and was a pleasure to chat with. We were upgraded for our stay and it was an amazing treat. We will certainly be back. The location is right on Nobb Hill and a trek of you are not prepared to be walking back uphill to the hotel. That said transportation is very accessible. We loved the close proximity to amazing restaurants and shopping. All staff were amazing and made our stay so much better.

I liked and used the SF themed postcards in the hotel room. Filtered water station for refilling water bottles. Appreciated the daily housekeeping. View of city and cable cars, (only if you had an outside street view room vs inner courtyard). Hotel restaurant had limited dinner menu. Disliked the Nob Hill resort fee on top of other taxes and fees.

We have stayed at Stanford Court before. We miss the excellent restaurant it had, but are happy there is evening food service again. The food was quite good but the restaurant space was very noisy, and when we were there, very badly understaffed. The breakfast buffet was adequate. Valet parking has.become astronomically expensive.
