Beautiful historic building with a newer addition across the street called The Carriage House. We stay in The Carriage House on the second floor. (FYI…There is no elevator in The Carriage House). Room was comfortable and had a lovely balcony that was perfect for sipping morning our coffee. The only thing missing from the room was a fridge. Besides that minor inconvenience, the property was well maintained and clean and the staff was friendly. Great restaurant in the building called Grossman’s Noshery and Bar. The cinnamon babka French toast was amazing. So was the pickle plate!

A beautiful, historic hotel. The area is a little sketchy walking from the parking lot to the hotel as it is in an adjacent lot but there is plenty of lights. The front staff had water bottles and ice ready for my stau and a great cafe/deli adjoined

Hotel was clean and room was huge. Got jr suite with king bed, couch, table, arm chair and desk. Employees all very friendly and upbeat. Even though it is a vintage hotel 1907, it didn’t smell, didn’t need maintenance and it even had an elevator!!! !!!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Hotel La Rose!! Historic spot, spacious rooms, and very helpful and friendly staff. there are a number of amazing restaurants and coffee shops within a few blocks of the hotel. I highly recommend Grossman’s (in the lobby), Marla, Stark’s Steakhouse, Jackson’s, Goose and Fern, and Omelette Express, they are some of our favorites. Parking can be a challenge in Railroad Square so definitely opt for their private lot conveniently located across the street. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back!!

I stayed in the pink Victorian room. It has a little mold in the shower cracks and the wallpaper has certainly seen better years. It was a really large room and the bed was comfortable. It's very quiet and safe and the location is wonderful. Super easy parking at the park across the street.

The property was conveniently located in a historic district of Santa Rosa. There was an amazing coffee shop steps away and across the street. The service was good as well. The room we stayed in was considered an updated room. However, the carpet was well worn, the shower was very tight and a bit dingy. To top it off, when we returned to the room after being out and about for the day, we had ants in the room. The front desk gave me a can of Raid when I went to notify them.

Great location. Easy parking. Walk to everything. The room was comfortable, clean and what you'd expect from a good hotel. However, for this price we'd expect to have no problems. There were three glaring problems: * Light. There was no way to cover the window so there was light at night from the street lights and light from sunup to sundown. Lots of light. * We could not control the heat even though we followed the strange instructions: "For Heat turn on air conditioning fan". Fortunately, it wasn't too cold. * The ceiling slopes, which would be fine except that the bed is on the opposite wall, so you have to duck whenever you walk around the bed.

Me and my boyfriend have stayed at Hotel La Rose twice now. The first time we stayed, the room was average-AC worked, room was large, bed was ok, TV was in an awkward spot-the bed posts blocked the tv from the bed. The second time we stayed our experience wasn’t the greatest. AC didn’t work in the room, elevator was broken, TV was on top of the wardrobe and very small. If you want to stay at a hotel that has some history, this is your hotel.

The room was on the 4th floor. It had two teeny dormer windows you could not see out of. And the tiny drapes didn’t cover the windows letting light in at 5:30am. The room was dark and depressing, bed covering wasn’t as pictured for a historic king, dirty green carpet was stretched and rippled, I won’t be back. Simply awful.

Lovely restored vintage hotel. Neighborhood was noisy (maybe Cinco de Mayo celebrations?), especially after midnight, so it was hard to sleep with window open for fresh air. Bed was lumpy and couldn't get pillows "scrunched" right to be comfortable.

Lovely historic hotel, great service and well appointed period style room. Room was on the street side across from the park, which was both cool and annoying. Cool having live music wafting through the window during the day. Annoying having loud cars and and people looking their keys in their car at 2:30 am. Otherwise, great stay!

The rooms are lovely as always. But #60 was SO noisy facing the street where morning deliveries are made, dumpsters are emptied and the train runs. (Ends midnight, starts 4am...) So I didn't sleep. Next time they told me to request a "quiet room"

The front desk manager was extremely helpful and got our room ready for an early checkin. We had an issue with our room and he moved us with no delay and had someone help.move our bags to the new room with no delay. Hotel location was excellent within walkjng distance to all the fine restaurants in Downtown two blocks from our 2 favorites LaCocco, Italian and La Gare french. Would stay again when visiting Santa Rosa in the future.

Ive stayed here more than 10 times and never had issues until last night. The female front desk clerk was horrible, going to the restroom without any “excuse me” and before finishing checking me in. And then the horrible front desk clerk assigned the same room where i was to a male guest, who opened the door while i was in bed. This horrible staff did not apologize. The room she gave me did not have a working toilet. She told me that she would refund my money but i have to move out or move in another unit. She was rude to her co worker the maintenance man who was so helpful. When i got to the lobby, the horrible front desk staff just checked in a guest in the carriage after she told me there was no more available! I cancelled my booking for next week. All it takes is one rude, incompetent staff to turn away your regular guest. I will never book in your hotel again and report your staff for not accommodating my request based on disability.

Hey, it’s funky, lbh! I love the location, easy access to great food. Grossmans is a standout for me close to 101 & 12 for easy transportation to Sebastopol or Sonoma. Staff are fantastic. For me, less interaction = better ✅. But whenever I need assistance, they are on point.

We live in the city and are urban people. We also enjoy older homes, so we greatly appreciated the location and quality of the buildings. The reception area is warm and inviting, and the Grossmans restaurant attached to this hotel was a big bonus, as we enjoyed a nice lunch with their spacious outdoor seating. The entire area has character and charm. (With that said, I think it's appropriate to note that it is next to a railroad station, so there is a bit of transience. This does not bother us, but the dynamic scene and some street noise may not be for everyone.) But: back to our room and experience. We really liked our room with the balcony overlooking the courtyard in the newer of the two buildings. Some may prefer to be in the original building but I didn't see the rooms there. Parking was very easy. Staff was helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is so beautiful, and very comfortable. It was close to wonderful restaurants and easy on/off freeway without being too close to it. The Smart train was directly across the street too. I will definitely be back.

So quaint and relaxing, very comfy bed and pillows. Walking distance restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream shops, right across is the Smart train which can be a convenient way of travel, also shopping mall very near. We walked to Stark’s Steakhouse & Seafood and it was SOOOOO DELICIOUS & yummy drinks!! this alone made my stay worth it… being able to walk to antique shops and other places and free parking on the street during the weekend is a plus! Only thing I wish for was a curtain that blocked the light entering room in the night.

Hotel La Rose was in a perfectly central location. Everything was either within walking distance, easily accessible by freeways, or easily drivable. I stayed in the newer section of the hotel, and the rooms were very clean, and there was a cute little balcony.

Very nice to find this hidden gem in Santa Rosa. Just one night as we were passing by. But, will be back. Great value for money and love old hotels. Grossman’s restaurant next was also very good and convenient. Coffee shop across street also good.
