The location next to the beach was perfect and our room had recently been redone very nicely. The ocean view was also lovely and staff was helpful. Many parts of the hotel are dated - but they are working on it. No breakfast, which had been advertised as included although they did offer coffee. Also the front and parkade doors did not close, let alone lock so definitely a safety concern with that.

The rooms are good but the hotel is not very secure. Main doors open to the outside. Underground parking has no doors. Everything including the elevator is accessible by anyone at any time. Somebody could access bypassing the desk by the elevator or stairs and the front desk would never know.

Everything was amazing. The elevator was the only downside. Been staying here since 2017 and it never disappoints. You have to get a beach view room to enjoy the stay. Thank you for another epic family beach vacation! The front desk guys are amazing as well. They have watched my son grow up. Dont let negative reviews detour you from this amazing gem!

Our room itself was fine, and loved our back balcony overlooking the ocean. However, the property itself was rundown and not secure. The front door, which opened onto a busy sidewalk was broken and left open and unlocked 24 seven. Avoid this property!

Pre booked stay, drove 5.5 hrs away with 80 year old mom to find out elevator was out of order. Mom had to walk flights of stairs with not even offering help from the staff. Mr Khan argued with me because I had asked for a discount or refund for my stay. Will never come back again.

There were bugs all over bathroom and long black curly hair in the sheets. The room was on high blast heat to 90degress. Took over an hour to cool room off enough to sleep. No breakfast and coffee was meh. They front desk people did not smile or warmly greet.

We have been coming here for 13 years, this visit was terrible. Our carpet was dirty when we arrived. Floor had not been vacuumed, pile of stuff behind refrigerator. Room was very outdated. We have never stayed in 108 and i hope we never do again!!!!

The room smelled like mold. I came home and my clothes reeked of mold. They are stains all over the bed. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. There are other hotels near sunset beach.

Not only was our room not as advertised but there were rodents in our room. A mouse tried to crawl under the bathroom door while someone was in the shower. There was rodent feces everywhere and the staff was unwilling to assist with any of the multitude of issues. The location is amazing but the hotel is truly wretched.

The entire place reeks of mold, the sheets and towels are filthy, the bed had bed bugs, the carpet looks and smells like it hasn't been replaced in 50 years. The manager is a thief, tries to negotiate to get more money out of you, Petty, low class, miserable.

Generally run down. Door frame in the bathroom was really rusty, wallpaper peeling in the room, the shower head was so corroded water was coming out at all angles, no breakfast, hobos sleeping in the parking lot, etc. The bed and pillows may be the least comfortable bed and pillows I've ever slept on. The last hotel I stayed in in Huntington Beach had cockroaches and I kinda wish I'd stayed at that hotel again. That all being said, the heat worked and no water got in when it rained. So it functioned as a room. Nobody stole my stuff, and I didn't find any bugs in the room. 3/5 seems fair. In no world does it deserve a 4/5 though.

We chose this hotel for it's location (close to an event we were attending). Check-in/out was easy - friendly personnel. The room was small and dated but very clean. The only negative was that our room was on Pacific Coast Highway which was extremely noisy so either request a room on the opposite side of PCH or bring earplugs. (I ended up using white noise on my cell phone to help drown it out a bit). Otherwise it was a good price for the location.

Excellent location, price for an oceanview room! Love the free parking, spacious room and balcony. Definitely needs new pillows, mattresses, and linens. Horrified that the sliding door did not lock!!!!

The room we got was spacious and had an updated bathroom which was nice!! The beds were cheap and so uncomfortable!! The windows open to the room which was nice for the ocean breeze …. Room came with small refrigerator but no microwave.

I’ve stayed here before and really enjoyed the updated rooms, but the room I had this time hasn’t been refreshed in quite a while. The bathroom, in particular, showed signs of age—there's only so much caulking that can be done before a full renovation is needed. This property is in a fantastic location, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back. I’ve noticed they’ve been painting the exterior, and it’s looking great. I just hope they finish updating the rooms as well, so frequent guests know what kind of experience to expect each time.

This is an older hotel so if you’re wanting any frills, this isn’t the place however, you have the beach right across the driveway that’s what I pay for and my frill lol. The water pressure is very weak for the showers. That’s the only negative. I have to say this is our go to hotel when we wanna stay close to home. And be by the beach.

You may be turned off by bars on parking garage, cracked mirrors in lobby, very old carpet and paint in common areas. BUT…the location is amazing. Better than the downtown HB hotels in my opinion. Don’t have to cross PCH to get to beach. Our room was spacious, clean, felt recently remodeled with new paint, nice tile in bathroom etc. Room had a large fridge. Even the non ocean view was nice as you look out over palm trees and the wetlands. Housekeeping came every day which is rare these days as most hotels can’t be bothered. No breakfast but there is a microwave and fresh coffee downstairs. Nice coffee shop with breakfast across the street or jack in the box next door. I would definitely stay here again. Some houseless folks hang out in the area so keep that in mind if you think that will bother you.

We have been coming to this hotel for over 7 years. The rates are great during winter, right across from the beach and located centrally amongst all the best parts of town. We usually stay for several days and enjoy it very much. We have noticed much more wear and tear on the hotel in the past few years. The beds are old spring mattresses that squeak louder and louder with each coming year. The air conditioning unit is old and musky, which leads me to believe the filter is probably old. The shower head in the bathroom is definitely old and has not been cleaned in quite some time, the calcium build up and staining on it showed as much. The bathroom door was warped and scraped along the floor as it opened and closed. And the sealant around the toilet was peeling back and very discoulered arohnd the base of the toilet. Despite all of this, we will probably come and stay again. We hope they will do some general maintenance on the rooms in the meantime.

The individual responsible for our check-in exhibited a lack of proficiency, resulting in a double charge and an error in the service provided to the customer prior to us. Furthermore, the staff exhibited a lack of courtesy, denying us access to the restroom located in the lobby. Consequently, our children were compelled to use the restroom in an inconvenient manner.

Everything was great up until check out time. I went to check out first and left my family in the room while they finish up. It was around 10:50am when I checked out. My family and I were grabbing our stuff to come out and the phone to the room rings. It was the manager saying that they told him that I was still in the room and I told him that I was getting my family and stuff to leave and he had an attitude. And he was like ok please do it. THAT WAS RUDE

Great location! In the middle of a remodel it looks like. Some areas real worn down. The room itself isn't bad. Bedding was below average. Bathroom area had terrible lighting. Service wasn't very good. Hard to reach front desk. No towels for 3 days. No breakfast.

Room description on website was not true to actual check in. Picture clearly shows balcony which ate only on the ocean view side. When we checked in we were told that we did not book the ocean view but he could change it for additional $45. The ‘choose’ a room does not have an option to indicate ocean view. The Manager is blaming your website, and I feel it was a sham. These new owners/ managers are not representing The Wyndham Company’s customer service. Their website should be accurate and/or updated. Been coming here for over 5 years and this was the 1st time we had such an issue

The property is right on the ocean so obviously that part is awesome and the fact it’s a third cheaper than most places on the ocean makes it affordable. The parking is also free. It’s not near anything exceptional to walk to but does have basic needs within walking distance. While the location right by the ocean is great, the downside is looking out the upgraded room view you purchased to look at the ocean only to have homeless people a constant string of bus lines coming through. I’d probably stay here again but know if you are staying here the property is pretty run down. Our room was clean.

This property has a great location with its proximity to the beach. If you pay the upgrade fee, you can have an ocean view, which is very nice. The staff were good. The room had what we needed and was clean. The property itself is old and run down. While the location is great, there are homeless people sleeping and living just across from the property and you get the joy of looking at them while trying to enjoy the ocean view from your room. There is also a very busy bus line just outside the hotel and again a visual obstruction to the ocean. With all that said, if there were no homeless, buses or run down property, then the price of the room would be 3-4X more. We booked it for the economical advantage given its closeness to the beach.

Stayed here for years love the location! View of the beach and a one minute walk to the waves. Hotel is older, but has everything you need and is right across the street from a convenience store and a few walkable places to eat. We love this place and always come back for a quiet, relaxing trip.

This motel is a good value for the money and the location is fantastic! Morning walks on the beach or the Bolsa Chica wetlands with nearby coffee is a great way to start the day. Parking is very easy and the great dining options are plentiful.

This property has a wonderful location because you can get right on a path and walk along the beach for as far as you’d like. We truly enjoyed that. The hotel/ room is certainly not fancy. But if you are looking for a reasonable place to stay, in a great location, this is it!

Strangly laid out property! But is built to have ocean views (over a parking lot) The property truely is right at a beach entrance, so its very easy to stay here and beach it all day. And what a beautiful long beach it is! Disappointing not to have any kind of breakfast. Jack in the box is right next door though. OC bus stop is right there by the beach too,if you need to go anywhere. Property has covered parking for free!!

The property was a great value for what it was. It was just over $300 for Sat-Monday, Labor Day weekend. Other places were $120 plus more for the same nights. Rooms were decent given the price point. They were clean, staff was friendly, I was always able to find parking and we were in walking distance from Sunset beach and a short drive to Huntington Beach. A lot of restaurants close by, great value. Place can use some updating but also, given the price it just is what it is.

The motel is a bit run down and not well laid out. Room was clean but very basic. No breakfast, just coffee. Location is convenient. Make sure to get a beach side room. The street side can be very noisy.
