Courtyard Los Angeles Torrance/Palos Verdes

The receptionist was good and prompt in greeting us and getting us into the rooms. We enjoyed the pool as it was clean and heated. So it was great experience. The really sad parts was the layout of the room it really ackward. The TV is off to the side of the room where you can't lay down on the bed and watch the TV. The bathroom size was on the smaller size given our room is business with king size bed. The towel's quality was mediocre. Definitely not Hilton quality. At the night we stayed, the power went out due to some electrical fuse blow out, we were out with no light, no AC, nothing for a really long time. How could this size of hotel has no backup generator is beyond.

All of the entrances were being refitted for new handicap regulation so the entrance was challenging, especially if one was older and a bit unsteady. We made it safely each time so not much of a problem. I didn't appreciate walking through dirt or stepping over a curb but otherwise no issues.

Outside traffic is noisy… couldn’t sleep well. I stayed various hotels in Torrance, to be honest, from the price view pint, satisfaction rate is pretty low. Bathroom supplies, only soap and location, I maybe wrong though. Towels are less than average hotel. Gym is poor, no mat, no weight training equipment except barbel and sit-up bench. Sorry but not good, my honest feedback.

Only downsides are No continental breakfast and no pool use before 10am or after 7pm.

I liked the grounds around the property and was in a quiet location. The pool and exercise room were very accessible.

Really liked this hotel! Pool was awesome for the kids, rooms are very clean. I will definitely be staying here again.

This was a wonderful stay. The breakfast menu is wonderful, especially the breakfast burrito and the breakfast bowl. It was quiet, easy free parking, comfortable, and very accomodating. We will be back!

No hot tub

The property is clearly a new property and that was the good part. The Bistro Bartender was awesome and friendly. But the room was small and the small couch had a wood ledge very close to the bed and I smacked my shin on it when I got up to use the bathroom. Then I hit again in the morning! There also was no shower mat. Two of the three treadmills did not work and there was very little workout equipment. I just checked in to the Hampton in San Diego so for comparison purposes, the Hampton even though it’s a older property for same price point, it has free breakfast, free coffee, a better gym with a Peloton! And a bath mat!

Staff is great, always pleasant and helpful. Mattresses and pillows are due for updates. Outside construction on hotel exterior is a mess and severely limits parking.

There was leftover food in the refrigerator. The toilet was filthy

Checked into our room and the bed was unmade, wet towels on the floor, trash was not taken out and smelled like smoke. I’ve stayed at Marriotts before and has always been great but this was so far from what I expected. The power went out around 9pm for 10 minutes and was the icing on the cake. I get things happen but certainly was not impressed with this Marriott location at all.

It’s near a mall and several shopping centers very convenient for shopping or dinning. At first it appeared all great. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing as we noticed a red blood stain on the white covers the morning we were leaving. Also, we had to call twice to get more pillows for my bad back. I won’t stay here again, the blood stain was it for us.

This place was OK, but there was some construction happening down the hall and the other family we were traveling with found some kind of animal scat under the curtains in their room.

There was a booger on my sheets and there was a weird cigarette scent and yeah that booger was not good at all I had to clean it and made sure I was a little comfortable but that’s disgusting

Convenient to the beach, mall, and places to eat! Area felt safe and was quiet. Bed was comfy. The only thing I noticed was that our ac unit didn't work such as, changing the temperature and powering on/off. However, I am thankful that it still kept the room cool. It seemed to automatically run every 15-20 min.

Small, quiet, convenient, attractive property. Rooms updated with decor, hardware, linens, all fashion forward. Super quiet because room doors close with almost no sound. This is very unusual in the USA and it is a reason to return to this hotel. Thank you many times for investing in this feature.

Nice one bedroom king suite on poolside. Very clean. Comfortable bed good location. Would stay again if not located in California. 😊

The couch had a wooden extension, ostensibly to put phone or cup. Instead of it being at armrest height (like the other side). It was at shin height and only a few inches from the bed. Knocked into it several times.

The bed was not firm and too soft which was not good if you have a bad back. Haven't had this issue the other times I've stayed here.

Both of the beds were horrible. The mattress were sagging and the springs were poking my back. So uncomfortable.

We asked fora quite room. In choosing between the first floor room or the second floor room, we were told the 2nd floor room was quieter. It turned out the the room 201 is next to the stairwell. Each time people walk down to the lobby using the stairs, a big bang noice disturbed our sleep.

The hotel is nice and the staff is great. However, on my stay, the power went out at around 8:30pm. I just went to bed and thought that maybe the power will come back at some point in the evening and maybe the power is just out for the block or for a couple of blocks (it happens in Torrance). I woke up at 2am and the power was still not back. I decided to leave and get on my road trip, and, as i left the hotel, i found out that it was only the hotel that did not power while the rest of the block and the neighborhood was ok and had power all night. As hotel guests, we were never advised about the issue or advised on how long the problem was going to be. It totally put a damper on my stay.

everything was great. i didnt like the fact they woulnt give me a receite and the aduitude at the front desk. they chage me a 100.00 and didnt take it off and put back in my account they dont tell you they dont clean your room while you are there. they need commucation inprovement.

Hotel staff did not quiet a rowdy and noisy group of guests in the courtyard after 10 p.m. I called the front desk at 10:30 p.m. to ask how long these guests would be outside and the desk clerk said he would ask them to either quiet down or leave. They stayed around the firepit until 11:30 p.m. making lots of noise, just below my window, which kept me awake when I needed to sleep. Pissed me off, because I paid a pretty penny to stay there; ruined my stay.

The staff is super friendly

I really enjoyed our stay at Courtyard. The hotel was clean and very quiet. The staff was really friendly and we were able to check in and out very quickly. Would 10/10 recommend and we would stay here again.

Unfortunately this was the last hotel we stayed in during our 2 week visit to the LA area. There are many hotels in this area. You can find another one that is nicer and less expensive. While there were a couple of nice features, the pool area, the housekeeping staff, and a microwave available in the ice machine area (though the ice machine didn’t work), our stay was overall not good. The first issue started at the front desk. The clerk, Aja (not sure if I spelled it right), was not friendly. With every request we got attitude and the feeling we were interrupting her day. She was unhelpful when I requested a room near the back of the property. Though I paid for a balcony room, she claimed that there were no balcony rooms near the end of the property and gave us a room without a balcony nor the ability to fully open a windows We needed help with the TV remote control Saturday and there was no explanation of what to do, only a change of batteries which we had already done. She was on her personal phone each time we had an interaction with her. On Saturday she seemed to be babysitting a group of teenagers who were hanging out in the lobby. I have not had such rudeness from hotel staff in my life. In the room, we could not make the thermostat work. The room was either muggy or freezing, There were ants in the bathroom and on the ground by the AC unit, and also near microwave. We could not watch TV since we could never figure out the remote. We heard noise from the hallways.

Staff was amazing in finding lost item, and explaining how to get it returned/mailed home. Room was very comfortable and quiet, especially after a long day on the road and exploring the area.

Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Unmet Requests I rarely leave negative reviews, but I’m genuinely disappointed with my stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in Torrance, California. From the moment we checked in, we encountered multiple service issues that were never resolved. I called the front desk several times requesting clean towels—no one ever brought them. I also asked for an extra bed, which was denied without explanation. I requested that the room be cleaned while we were out, but when we returned, nothing had been done. I even called again for extra bedding and, once again, nothing was delivered. The lack of follow-through and attention to basic guest needs was incredibly frustrating. I expected more from a Marriott property. Sadly, this experience has made me reconsider staying with Courtyard in the future.

The location is near the beach and easy to find good restaurants

Area around is residential but if you have a car you can get to other areas of interest. Parking is FREE WHICH IS INCREDIBLE for LA. Hotel is very clean and comfortable

The property is located in a safe neighborhood. There is access to a lot of local cafe and it’s close to the beach.

Very quiet and nice location.

This was a pretty good location to stay at. We were here a total of 3 days and the staff was always very helpful. Our room was comfy enough, though the pillows were terrible. The tv was easy enough to connect to Netflix and easy to connect phone to Internet. The parking lot was well lit and I could see my car from my room. Everything seemed pretty secure and the location felt safe.

Good property if you need to be in the south bay. One block from King's Hawaiian which is a plus.

The hotel lobby and room were very clean and modernized. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quite spacious with a nice rollout desk to use for a laptop. I stayed at a Courtyard in Baldwin Park the day before my stay in Torrance and the Torrance Courtyard is superior in quality. I only wish the breakfast or cafe was open past 11 a.m., however I will stay here the next time I visit family in the Redondo Beach area.

Typical Courtyard. Has a Starbuck managed food and drink eatery that is convenient in the am and pm.
