The hotel, restaurant, room and staff were all fabulous. I had a wonderful experience using my porch, backyard soaking tub, and ordering from the restaurant. Highly recommend for an easy getaway. I will return!

Stopped for one night on our way from Lassen Volcanic Park to Fort Bragg. We just loved this hotel! So comfortable and beautifully decorated. The staff was very nice and the wonderful pool was a plus. I highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful place to stay in Upper Lake

Nice, big room. Great restaurant and bar with live music out in the patio. Beautiful garden areas on the property. The pool could have used a skimming maybe more that once per day. A number of bugs were in the pool in the afternoon. Great soaking tub and patio with room. Friendly and Helpful staff.

We stayed 2 nights in 2 different unique, beautiful rooms. The first room was cottage with an outdoor soaking pool. The pool was wonderful. Heating was set for our check in. Only one quirk… the front door window just under the blinds/above door knob corner of window let’s the outside light come into room just at eye level hitting you in the eyes while laying in bed at night. I have a hard time sleeping with light, like that. But I brought my eye mask and was able to block that light out. The second room was in the main hotel with a claw tub. It was wonderful as I LOVE a great indoor soaking tub. The room was very clean & nicely decorated. We love music and were able to sit in the balcony outside our room with friends and listen the the Blues Band playing in the restaurant patio adjacent to the hotel. We ate 1 night at the restaurant Nextdoor. Our meal was delicious. Just a bit of a mix up. I called to make reservations at an early time (b/c they were having a very large Birthday event for the leader of the Blues Band). They told us we didn’t need a reservation if we were coming at an early time. However we did need them. They fit us in a table that was next to tge servers station (not ideal but adequate). Unfortunately, many of the shops/restaurant on the street the hotel is on have closed. So we are our few other meals at very good restaurants in Kelseyville and Lakeport. Overall we had a wonderful time.

Property was clean, quiet and beautiful with flowers, lights and very well maintained. Restaurant directly next to hotel was wonderful and had a neat covered outdoor area to listen to live music. Room was adorable, very clean and bed was so comfortable. We had an upstairs room (carrying luggage up was a bit strenuous , but worth it! We enjoyed the outdoor balcony looking over the property. We loved this quaint little place that had such a great ambiance and peaceful atmosphere.

This is a very cool hotel with a great staff. The room was really clean and comfortable with a terrific balcony overlooking the restaurant's courtyard. There are other options to stay at in the area, but if you are looking for a very nice, comfortable and unique experience, I can't think any other place even comes close to this.

Room was big, beautifully decorated and a great balcony which you could use during rain or shine. It was great to actually have cutlery that wasn’t plastic or wooden which is what we experienced in every hotel we stayed in during our road trip of California, also to use china tableware instead of throwaway plastic or paper plates. Great restaurant attached to the hotel, live music and fantastic/funny waitress. Would highly recommend both hotel and restaurant.

What a beautiful and historic hotel. The entire experience was lovely. The location was perfect for us - out of the way tucked in a tiny town with a coffee shop and a restaurant and a couple of small stores. It was off season, and that was perfect for us. The weather was gorgeous and we were surrounded by mountains and birds... Breakfast was delicious but short for those of us that like to sleep in or those of us that like to leave at the crack of dawn to go explore... 8am - 9:30am. I would have given them a higher score, but the bed didn't agree with my back, the room was located facing the street and the lighting at night was bright, which is not a bad thing - just some better coverage for the windows. Other than that, it was a great stay!

Fantastic hotel, rooms very smart and unique, one of the best hotels we stayed in during our 3 weeks tour of California. Lovely balcony to sit and have a drink, restaurant next door had a good menu, live music and great serving/waitresses.

This hotel is my safe space. The rooms are sound proof and well appointed, and the lower garden rooms with the ofuro soaking tubs are the most relaxing thing in Lake county.

after a full morning we came back to the hotel for a late nap. there was some very loud banging I looked out the door and saw a staff member walking away. Front desk was so friendly and helpful. They even texted us ahead of time for directions to check in if we got in late. Room was lovely; bed was unexpectedly comfortable. Gorgeous views accompanied a decent restaurant next door (with GREAT staff). Sad we didn't get enough time here. Would return!

Property was clean, quiet and beautiful with flowers, lights and very well maintained. Restaurant directly next to hotel was wonderful and had a neat covered outdoor area to listen to live music. Room was adorable, very clean and bed was so comfortable. We had an upstairs room (carrying luggage up was a bit strenuous , but worth it! We enjoyed the outdoor balcony looking over the property. We loved this quaint little place that had such a great ambiance and peaceful atmosphere.

Beautiful property & love the veranda to sit out & observe the town. Neat shops within walking distance. Room comfortable & quiet. Heard live music in adjoining courtyard at Blue Wing! Nice breakfast included. Had a great time.

Stopped for one night on our way from Lassen Volcanic Park to Fort Bragg. We just loved this hotel! So comfortable and beautifully decorated. The staff was very nice and the wonderful pool was a plus. I highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful place to stay in Upper Lake

We enjoy the quiet cottage and grounds around the hotel. What we were disappointed in was that the shops near by close down pretty early.

What a beautiful and historic hotel. The entire experience was lovely. The location was perfect for us - out of the way tucked in a tiny town with a coffee shop and a restaurant and a couple of small stores. It was off season, and that was perfect for us. The weather was gorgeous and we were surrounded by mountains and birds... Breakfast was delicious but short for those of us that like to sleep in or those of us that like to leave at the crack of dawn to go explore... 8am - 9:30am. I would have given them a higher score, but the bed didn't agree with my back, the room was located facing the street and the lighting at night was bright, which is not a bad thing - just some better coverage for the windows. Other than that, it was a great stay!

Wonderfully restored Victorian hotel in a small one street town near Clearlake. Owners and staff are delightful. Regular live music performances and good comfort food and cocktails. Will be back!

The inn was in a quiet safe area. Our room was clean and spacious—the bed was just a little soft for my preference but others may find it acceptable. My only complaint was the continental breakfast. The only protein was a boiled egg. I gave a gluten allergy and would have welcomed some items without gluten.

Room was big, beautifully decorated and a great balcony which you could use during rain or shine. It was great to actually have cutlery that wasn’t plastic or wooden which is what we experienced in every hotel we stayed in during our road trip of California, also to use china tableware instead of throwaway plastic or paper plates. Great restaurant attached to the hotel, live music and fantastic/funny waitress. Would highly recommend both hotel and restaurant.

The hotel, restaurant, room and staff were all fabulous. I had a wonderful experience using my porch, backyard soaking tub, and ordering from the restaurant. Highly recommend for an easy getaway. I will return!

I adore the Tallman! It isn't cheap but is a lovely splurge. The rooms are so comfortable and beautifully appointed. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is yummy - a selection of European style pastries, steel-cut oatmeal with lots of toppings, fresh juice, yogurts, hard-boiled eggs and great coffee. Having the Blue Wing Saloon as an integral part of the hotel is convenient and enhances the overall fantastic experience. Love, love, love the Tallman!!

Fantastic hotel, rooms very smart and unique, one of the best hotels we stayed in during our 3 weeks tour of California. Lovely balcony to sit and have a drink, restaurant next door had a good menu, live music and great serving/waitresses.

AWSOME!!! picture is exactly the room i will return property is very clean and staff is courteous and tentative to your needs the pool is great and the light breakfast they service is fresh no hot stuff but good fruit and delicious pastry. not to mention the live music they have out on the patio which is connected to the blue wing restaurant love there food atmosphere is relaxing you will need to stay in one of ther cottages too!!
