Aspen Mountain Lodge

Quality overall was disappointing. Very dated amenities. Things were taped together in the room. Pool was tiny and in the parking lot and was closed due to filter problems. Overall felt the experience wasn't truly represented online. Overall very poor experience - especially for the $$.

Aspen Mtn Lodge is located within walking distance of the stores and restaurants. It is an older building but well maintained and clean, and the rooms adequately appointed. We were surprised that with four floors it did not have an elevator, nor was this revealed in the rental and checkin info. No one was at the front desk when we checked in about 6:30 PM, and so we had to carry our luggage up four floors! This was difficult, challenging and dangerous for seniors in the high altitude. There should have been some alternative. The next morning the staff was apologetic and said we should have called the number on the sign, but it was too late for that!

The staff are so friendly and flexible! They work hard to ensure guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay. The breakfast was delicious and the lounge area where it is served is cozy and cute. A great stay!

We ended up leaving the lodge before our reservation was over and stayed somewhere else. To say this place has been renovated is an extreme exaggeration. The bathroom was from the original build with stains in the tub. We couldnt really access the closet, as a bed was up against it. The pool was not really a pool and the broken down furniture surrounding it was covered in dirt and spider webs.

At check-in, we learned there is not always a dedicated person available. The main building didn’t seem to have air conditioning & there is no elevator. We lugged our bags up to the fourth floor and inputted our 10 digit code which was needed to get in & out of the room. No key, no card, a physical, long code. Each time. The air conditioner was barely holding in the window with wasps coming inside to cool themselves. The bathroom was moldy. The sliding door to the deck had a 1/2 gap at the top and didn’t entirely shut (although there was a lock that closed). Our room was in the high 80s when we checked in. It was 90 outside. The temperature control was high or nothing. Nighttime was not comfortable. There were exposed extension cords in the rain gutters of our patio that looked to be barely holding on. Parking was easy. Dedicated lot. Very walkable to downtown. We ended up checking out a day early.

The room at the lodge was cozy and perfect for our stay. It is pet friendly and the staff was friendly and super helpful!

Our biggest issue is that we are in our 70s and we had to hand carry our luggage up four flights to the very top level. We were not aware that our room was on the top level nor were there any elevators. The bed was good, linens were good and Continental breakfast was very good.

The price was reasonable and the room was clean. The front desk k staff were kind and helpful. The furnishings were very antiquated and the pool was not open as advertised.

Arrived to dirty sheets with brown stains. The staff wasn’t able to replace them till the following day so we had to use dirty sheets for our first night. We were told we would receive a refund, followed up 3 times, and have yet to receive our refund. Very terrible service

But the rooms and interior of the property are extremely old, worn down and in desperate need of updating. The beds way to soft, the air conditioners are old, loud and don’t work well and the carpet is disgusting.

It's always difficult to leave a negative review, but I believe in honest feedback, especially when choosing a hotel. Here's my experience to help others avoid a similar situation. The Issues: Run-down and Dirty: The hotel felt neglected. Worn carpets, wripped carpets, loose bathroom tiles, and cleaning supplies left in hallways created a poor first impression.For some reason, the staff liked to stay in front of my door and chat frequently. Breakfast Concerns: During breakfast, there were no plates available, and the staff member serving didn't have their hair tied up, which raised hygiene concerns.Also, it was difficult to get to the food as the staff was frequently in the way. Disruptive Noise: The soundproofing was inadequate, allowing noise from upstairs guests to easily disrupt my sleep throughout the night. Unshoveled Walkways: The snow remained uncleared outside the entrance at 7:00 am, making access difficult and potentially unsafe. Unaccommodating Staff: My was cancelled and I asked for 1 day refund, which was flatly denied without any explanation. Misleading Rating: This hotel, in my experience, felt more like a 2-star establishment, not the advertised 3 stars.

Very clean and pleasant atmosphere. The common areas are very cozy, and breakfast was very good. The beds were pretty comfortable, and the room had all the necessary amenities. It definitely was not updated, although we didn't mind.

This place uses its location (excellent) to justify never updating or maintaining the property. Everything is dated, stained, and questionably cleaned. But hey, if you're still half the price of every other hotel in aspen, you can get away with charging 5 star resort prices with motel 6 accommodations.

This property was just what my husband and I needed for our stay in Aspen. It was an easy walk to downtown. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was a good perk. The place is not accessible for those with issues with stairs. We felt safe and loved the view from our room. Clean and comfortable! Would stay again

We could hear all the chitchat from the front desk, and the eating sounds from meal times while in our room. The open layout also meant there was no place for housekeeping to do their work so the stairwell areas were often full of stuffed laundry bags and cleaning supplies. Walls were thin and we could hear next room conversations through the wall. One afternoon the key code door lock to our room stopped working and had to be reset. Our last evening the internet went out, which meant no Wi-Fi and no tv, while regular cell data reception in the hotel was terrible to the point of useless. There is no overnight hospitality staff past 10pm, so things like the internet outtage can’t get addressed until morning. The young man at the desk that we interacted with the most was lovely, but otherwise this was a frustrating stay and I can’t say I recommend it.

The hotel felt cozy, there was a good choice at breakfast, and the staff was very available and willing to help. The rooms were somewhat old with some signs of wear (as I expected based on the price and reviews), but I was pleasantly surprised they were functional and clean. The location is fantastic. The walls were indeed thin (as I had read in reviews before), and I had to use the earplugs I brought on the days close to the weekend. However, in the middle of the week, it was quiet enough to sleep without earplugs. Overall, given the comparatively low price, Aspen Mountain Lodge well exceeded my expectations and I would stay again.

The location is good. The bedding was uncomfortable. Hot water took a very long time for shower.

Located off the main strip in aspen for the price it’s hard to beat but there is no like decider between beds so if 2 couples staying together gonna be hearing and seeing each other all night

The property is somewhat aged, but is in good condition and is in a good location. You should be aware that apartments that begin with one are below the street level and have no windows. The breakfast included with the fee was really quite good. The apartment is walking distance to downtown, though for shopping you may wish to drive. You should be aware that there is no real kitchen in the apartment. There is a small refrigerator with freezer and microwave. Considering this is one of the lesser expensive places to stay in Aspen, it is still good value and we would certainly stay there again.

This was the worst experience ever! We have pictures of how dirty the room was. A door fell on us and when I reported it, was treated terrible. We were asked to leave and told I would be getting a credit. I asked for verification of credit and Rebecca refused. She was rude! We have the whole thing recorded. I would never recommend this place to anyone

The customer service at the Aspen Lodge was better than any high end hotel I have stayed in. Everyone from the second you entered was so friendly and helpful. The staff even helped us carry coolers. Above and beyond! Definitely would stay there again. While it is an older place, it is clean and comfortable. Conveniently located so you can walk to downtown Aspen. Highly recommend!

This place was perfect for our visit. The facility is older yet well maintained. The people were friendly and the complimentary breakfast each morning was great. It nice to find a hotel in Aspen at this price-point that is within walking distance to everything. The bus stop to the Maroon Bells was just two blocks away!

Great Aspen stay. Beds were comfy and Amenities were great. I expected a blah breakfast but was pleasantly surprised although the lady running breakfast couldn’t keep up with dishes for everyone nor some of the basic foods. And this was not during prime ski season. Great location close to bus stops.

For $500 a night they offer very poor amenities ( old dispenser with cheap products ) in the shower, bring your own shampoo/ etc . Carpets are dirty and smelly, there was an actual yellow large wet stain in front of the bathroom. Thought it was dog urine maybe, but it was the radiator leaking. I alerted management and they comped one of my night , it s appreciated but nothing was fixed as I had to hop over and cover the floor with towels. And not one came to fix the issue. Another detail, the walls are paper thin, you can hear all your neighbors conversations. And it gets loud. Breakfast is not very good and some of the yogurts for breakfast were expired 3 days ago, just not a good place to stay in Aspen. Would not return.
