It was a classic wood cabin, inside and out. Loved the feel of the cabin. The amenities were good (we even had wifi)! The views were excellent. Great way to experience Yosemite.

We love a rustic cabin with character and Lockwood Lodge fit us just right. It smells like a campfire inside but to us, that’s a good smell. The bathrooms could use updating but they were ok. The back deck and gas grill are new and we enjoyed grilling burgers and eating supper out there with the sounds of the river nearby. Wi-Fi and TV provide connection to the outside world if you want it. We would rent again.

Lockwood Lodge 3N at Redwoods could be perfect with the addition of a few minor changes. first at the kitchen sink, a swivel tap aerator would keep water in the sink and off the counters. A couple of toilet bowl brushes would be very useful. And finally a better instruction page for using the satellite and DVD player two more easily access the streaming input selector to login to guests’ Prime and Netflix accounts. Only the tech savvy would know this function was even possible fortunately, we figured it out.Now onto the good stuff. We could not have asked for a better cabin with the south fork of the Merced River off our back deck. The kitchen was well equipped with the gas stove, surrounded with island seating, as its centerpiece. The dining table and chairs were very nice, but like most modern families we gathered around the television at a generous sized coffee table with our meals..The bedrooms were of generous size and the half bath was a nice perk. Beds, even though they looked saggy, were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and a nice selection of blankets.Fireplace was pretty, but at this season in May was unusable due to fire restrictions. Barbecue on the back deck, picnic table and four lounge chairs made for a restful day into night experience. The staff at Redwood’s is top-notch and we even had help using the laundry facilities at the main lodge. Only expense is 50 for laundry detergent.Thank you, Redwood’s Lockwood Lodge for a wonderful stay.

The cabin looked so lovely, absolutely beautiful setting. A huge back deck where you could not only hear the river but see it. The big problem came when we sat to relax, the couch was hard and less than a cozy spot. My boyfriend and I are not big people I’m 120 pounds and my boyfriend is 210 we cherish cuddles and could not do so because the couch was narrow and hard. There were two chairs we decided to try, as I sat I hit the hard bottom. Ok so off to bed, there are 4 beds. So hard oh my gosh, it was like sitting on plywood. We both had tender hips each morning. We will never ever send anyone to this spot. Yosemite is amazing and I will go back but not there. We will not recommend this home to anyone ever. Not providing a nice mattress is beyond wrong. So no, no way will we rerun to this cabin.

The pictures are not necessarily deceptive but this place is definitely “rustic”. We loved the outdoor patio and also the information book inside the cabin let us to many local spots that we may have otherwise missed. Check in was extremely convenient and easy. Location was great and close to the park gate.
