It really is difficult to rate a hotel room such as this. On the one hand, the room was clean. On the other hand, the room is definitely 1-star sleazy. Old, uncomfortable mattress. Bare walls. No amenities to speak of. No elevator. Worn carpeting. No bedspread. Threadbare towels. Nominal toiletries. No facial tissue. In short, this is a $25 hotel room for which $125 is charged. They know that they’re among the only game in the City of Torrington (the other choice is a Days Inn that, believe it or not, may be even worse!) so they can get away with dramatically overcharging for this sad, sad room.

The hotel is trying to do repairs. My room, 101 was very nice. My concern is all the abandoned cars & stored cars sitting in the parking area taking up spaces! One is clearly abandoned, Expedition. No lisense plate, completely flat tire $ dirt covered on 1 side. Next to it a red car with broken drivers window. Then a car covered. Also was an old mattress laying by dumpster. There was a snow plow in another area of parking. It was a sold out weekend & some of these things should have been long gone. The ice machine has been an issue for years. It runs out & takes hours to work again. Replace with new.

Amenities listed were a pool and fitness equipment but both were not available. Breakfast had cereal but no milk, and the juice machine was not working our first morning. I was able to get orange juice our second morning but not apple juice. Our room needed some upkeep…some outlets were loose, microwave didn’t work, some tv channels didn’t have sound or was staticky, the room & ceiling could have used a paint job….Our room rate was too high for what was offered/not available. The two gentlemen at the front desk were very nice, hospitable, helpful, easy to talk with…I give them the top score!!

Tv was horrible hard to hear. Place was old and run down. Room not stocked with tissue. No plug in bathroom sink. . Ice machine broken. Simple things like cover of coffee didn’t fit. Very small continental breakfast.

The hotel is old, run down and overpriced. Staff was pleasant but beyond that the rooms were dirty with spots on the pillow cases, linens and towels. I spilled some drink on the floor and when I dabbed it up with a paper towel it was black with dirt from the carpet. Needs a paint job as well. No elevator. Breakfast as minimal as possible. Look for a better place.

the rooms had an odor, the carpet was soiled, visible maintenance was poor workmanship and slapped together. The room had 3 socks underneath the bed and a container of fruit filled with fruit. An empty chip bag was also under the bed. The chain lock had no fastener to lock. The outdoor hallway was filthy and carpeted. Torrington Area Health Board should visit. Or the appropriate Health Department. The bathroom ceiling was patched and crumbing into the tub. There was a large rubber mat glued to the bottom of the tub with black mold on the mats edges. The curtains were not latched to the rod so if not positioned just right someone could look in. The front check in manager was extremely accommodating.

The person at the desk was helpful but seemed annoyed. No problem but then I found my room and there was hair on the pillows, greasy fingerprints all over the microwave and fridge and the window was truly filthy. I didn't feel like dealing with the desk guy again and it was just too dirty for me so I left my key in the room and went home.

The property's overall look is dated and needs repairs. The parking lot is well lit like a prison yard. The rooms are dirty and in need of repairs. From the front door, which seems to have been forced open a few times, to the broken cover on the AC, to the bathroom sink that needs repairs, to the smell of smoke, I asked for a non-smoking room, and I was told at check-in that is what I got. I think they meant that I was not smoking in the room regardless of the fact that it smelled like everyone else did. The floor was dirty, and it seemed like no one took the time to clean the room. It was not worth the money.

Overall good accommodations, clean, friendly staff, good price for what you get, in no way fancy, but comfortable. Breakfast left something to be desired. Really, only down side was the shower, water pressure was horrible, seroiusly, it was bad. Wi-Fi lagged as well.

Trip was to visit ACTION WILDLIFE. Very close to facility. Hotel is outdated for the pricing. Very old but clean. Front desk very courteous. When opening the door to our room a strong scent of old moldie clothes that have been stored in boxes and shoved in a dark closet for years just whiffed out and lingered in the room. The beds were fine but not doubles like advertised. Overnight sleep was fine. Checkout the next morning was good. Only issue was the scent in the room but other than that the stay was fine.

"Blanket" was empty duvet cover; went to lobby to request blankets, after 45 mintes returned to lobby to request again. 2 well worn (one with burn hole) were brought to room after appx 5 minutes. Good hot water.

It seemed a little desolate. The women on the upstairs balcony were saying ‘Don’t stay here, which got me a little alarmed. But all worked out ok. The staff and workers there all seemed nice.

The manager Terry was terrific. Not only did he give us a room we had requested, he also called me on my cell to follow-up with directions to find the hotel without a problem. Only wish the breakfast provided would have offered more choices, including hot dishes. Not an unreasonable request for the price we paid for the room.

The Room that I was given was dirty. The bed had a stain in the middle of the bed which looks like someone leaked and also had hairs from previous guests. The towel in the bathroom were old and stained and one of them even had red lipstick on it, the other one had some orange stain. The stairs to go to my room were full of mod and burn of cigarettes. Asked for new towels and I had to wait 4 hours so I can go pick them up myself in the front counter, because they did not have anyone to send the to me at 4pm. At check out there was no one in the front desk and the front door was locked. I had to make a long distance call so a lady could tell me to leave the key in the room (which I was charged an extra $5.00 for). Pictures are available upon request.

We had 3 people staying in a room with two beds, though I registered for 4 people (the 4th canceled). We were a bit disappointed that there were so few towels, but when we asked, more were brought over promptly. The bagels at breakfast were really good toasted with whipped cream cheese. While it was very warm outside, the temperature of the room was very comfortable. I never turned on the āc. Since it was a handicapped accessible room, we were told it was okay to park in the handicapped spaces, as some of the other spots were blocked off for a delivery. Only complaints are - no box of tissues, night light in the bathroom (so youʼd have to turn on the whole light for nighttime bathroom breaks blinding the sleeping people, though I remembered to bring my own night light, so we were fine), and if we wanted to use the microwave, weʼd need to unplug the fridge or tv to be able to plug it in. We didnʼt end up playing cards, but if we did, there were only 2 chairs and a desk. Walking distance to a grocery store. It was clean. Beds each had 2 pillows, sheets and a blanket - no bedspread. It was good I brought a few pillows from home. It was a comfortable and affordable stay. Other friends paid $100 more a night to be closer to the wedding. I think the money saved was worth the extra 30 minute drive.

We liked the Gazebo & planted area. The management staff behind the desk were helpful and informative. But, keep your towels to re-use because they might not have any more even at the desk. There were no tissues and we had to ask for more soap and toilet paper. They did not come in to service the room. We were there for 3 nights.

Trip was to visit ACTION WILDLIFE. Very close to facility. Hotel is outdated for the pricing. Very old but clean. Front desk very courteous. When opening the door to our room a strong scent of old moldie clothes that have been stored in boxes and shoved in a dark closet for years just whiffed out and lingered in the room. The beds were fine but not doubles like advertised. Overnight sleep was fine. Checkout the next morning was good. Only issue was the scent in the room but other than that the stay was fine.

Hot water wasn’t. HVAC unit was falling apart. Fitness center was closed. The breakfast was stale bread, 3 bulk cereals and the same mini blueberry muffins as the day I got there and warm coffee.

Overall good accommodations, clean, friendly staff, good price for what you get, in no way fancy, but comfortable. Breakfast left something to be desired. Really, only down side was the shower, water pressure was horrible, seroiusly, it was bad. Wi-Fi lagged as well.

Amenities listed were a pool and fitness equipment but both were not available. Breakfast had cereal but no milk, and the juice machine was not working our first morning. I was able to get orange juice our second morning but not apple juice. Our room needed some upkeep…some outlets were loose, microwave didn’t work, some tv channels didn’t have sound or was staticky, the room & ceiling could have used a paint job….Our room rate was too high for what was offered/not available. The two gentlemen at the front desk were very nice, hospitable, helpful, easy to talk with…I give them the top score!!

Tv was horrible hard to hear. Place was old and run down. Room not stocked with tissue. No plug in bathroom sink. . Ice machine broken. Simple things like cover of coffee didn’t fit. Very small continental breakfast.
