Best Western Plus St. Simons

Under remodel. Closed pool and patio. We were not told about remodel construction when reserving. We would like a partial refund as we were not able to use amenities.

A very nice older hotel especially for the price. I was really looking forward to the hot tub but it was not working the 4 days we were there. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable but I wish there was a lock on the bathroom door and a microwave in the room. But all in all a nice hotel.

Stay was good for a couple of nights. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Was there for buisness and wished the biz center computer worked so I could print a couple of things but other than that the place was good.

Front desk was friendly. The property needs a little more upkeep. We were disappointed the hot tub wasn’t available. There were no towels at the pool and had to go to the front desk. Why not keep them stocked?? The room wasn’t the cleanest. They could have done better.

I like the Best Western Plus it is in a good location. Also we like the amenities staying here nice pool, hot tub and pet friendly. Also it is very cost effiecientand has a nice breakfast daily along with all day coffee and tea.

Excellent hotel and dog friendly. Breakfast was amazing big variety and pool was perfect, lots of lounges chairs.

Love this place- the pool and hot tub are top-notch! We will be back

The pool was amazing. The hotel and staff were amazing.

Undergoing some renovation, so a bit of construction going on. Our room had been done. Very nice. Comfy beds. Breakfast buffet better than many. Coffee was very good. Pool area very nice , but closed due to renovation.

Hotel staff was nice. Breakfast and coffee area were great. Property was older but outside of property were clean. Our room was not clean. Surfaces were dirty, desk chair was really stained, black gunk in the tub, dirty floors.

This visit was okay at best. The room had cleanliness issues - hair in bathroom and soap scum on shower handle. We had to repeatedly ask for towels and washcloths each day. Each time we visited the pool there were no towels available. We visited the office to request pool towels and were told that they would be brought to the pool within a few minutes but never were delivered. Staff were addressed about cleanliness but didn’t offer to address - told us to take pictures of it. Room service has to be requested each day.

The room had a terrible smell, excessive stains all over the carpet, hair in the drain, mold and water stains on the ceiling. We will not stay here again

This is our second stay and we were glad to see that the are has remained beautiful, well kept, and painted. The location is absolutely one of the best locations and five minutes from downtown and the beach. Although our room was located in a perfect spot, our room was not cleaned well. The sink counter top still had dirt on it, the coffee pot had dust all over it, and the door to the bathroom was broken. The pool did not get clean until our first stay and it was already green. We would love to stay again but would hope that these issues are addressed.

This is a very clean hotel. It is older but well maintained. The front desk staff were very nice and check in was quick and easy. The bed is very comfortable. The tv is a little small for the room though. The pool is absolutely gorgeous! It is not a very well insulated room and you could hear a lot of outdoor noise. The breakfast could use some work. Had a few cereal choices, waffles, toast, English muffins, small muffins, yogurt, eggs and sausage. Off the main road but still within driving distance of lots of shops and restaurants. The beach is about 2 1/2 miles away.

The hotel looked really nice from the outside, but our room smelled really bad of smoke. Despite being a non smoking hotel, the carpet was just trashed. It was carpet that should have been replaced 10 years ago. There were stains and just dirt embedded in it and the smell. Carpets hold smells and it was awful! The front desk girl was super friendly. She tried to make accommodation, move me to a two queen room, but I booked a suite. She said no suites available. I asked for some fabric refresher spray just to tame down the smell of the room. It was really bad. We tried to keep the door open to air out the room but it was the carpet so it didn't even matter if we "air" out the room. I did not sleep well. The pillows were too thick. It was a rough night. Breakfast wasn't that great. I didn't have the eggs and sausage but my partner did and it did not look good. The coffee wasn't great. The waffle was fine. The last night we had breakfast at a diner because we didn't want the breakfast there. The cable satellite was bad too. Constant lag due to "weather" despite it being sunny. I was looking forward to the hot tub but it wasn't open. The front desk was very sweet and helpful so that's a plus. She mentioned that I would get a discount but I haven't seen anything yet or received an email or call from the hotel. Maybe after renovations, this place might be nicer, but my experience wasn't the best and we take about 4/5 trips a year and stayed at plenty of hotels.

In the past the stays were fine and I'm not a complainer, but this trip the room was horrible. There were stains all over the floor which looked like vomit or spilled food. I was afraid to walk on the floor without shoes one. The room was so humid that our bedding was damp. The shower had no water pressure. I had more water pressure from a kitchen sink. Thebwater wpuld trickle out. The hot water would come on and then go to cold, then changed it's mind and be hot again. The woman employee at breakfast that help get food together was so nice. She was the only good thing about the stay.

Such a nice hotel! Room was big, bed was comfy, everything was very clean, pool area was great! My husband enjoyed the coffee and daily breakfast.

This hotel was a complete disappointment. It was dirty top to bottom: bedsheet, towels, carpet, couches, doors, bathtub, even the lights were rusted and dirty. Staff was not helpful at all, all they did was give me new towels and bedsheets for me to redo the bed. Will never stay here again, do NOT recommend, stay elsewhere.

The facility amnesties were great. Area was safe. However, rooms were the cleanest. Dresser doors were broken. The air vents needed major cleaning. The sliding barn door didn’t shut all the way making bathroom use ackward with several others in room. Stains on walls. Sand in tub, stains on bedding.

The desk is at table height and the desk chair did not get high enough to use the desk. Also, the desk chair was stained and dirty.

The King Bed was comfortable, but had a metal spring foundation. The SCREECH it made when getting in and out of bed was incredible.

It’s very dated with poor workmanship in bathroom - towel hook hanging off side, toilet tank cover misfit, grouting and tile poorly completed. Bed was comfortable. Someone smoked marijuana outside and it was sucked into the room by AC. It was quiet on the backside of the motel.

Nice clean and spacious room. Was having trouble keeping WiFi connected.

Parking lot lighting was extremely BRIGHT. The window blinds let in so much light that the room was actually darker during daylight hours than at night. I got very little sleep the four nights I was there. The water pipes popped and made noise all night. I will never stay at Best Western Plus St. Simons island again, Awful experience.

The rooms are small, but clean. Pool is old but nicely kept. I will say for the price for them to say at check in oh we are only doing late house keeping ( trash and towels only) is very cheap of them. Staff was friendly when you broke the ice. Ps odd rroms on wing even on the other.

Overall the hotel is a good place to stay, especially for long weekends and the price. I had a few issues though during my stay. The first is I was given only half a roll of TP for a 4 day stay, so I had to get more from the front desk. The shower curtain rod was installed incorrectly. So when taking a shower the one side of the curtain slowly sank toeard the middle. This made fo a nice big puddle outside the shower. The shower also had horrible pressure, which made you have to stand up toward the front of the shower cause it had not power to spray at a good pressure. Same for the bathroom sink. Your hands basically touch the back of the sink just to wash them off cause the lack of pressure. The tv, although it's nice you can add your own netflix, and whatnot, took a minute to figure out. The channels definitely didn't line up with what the channel guide said. Internet worked fine. The staff was great and super helpful. I didn't use the pool, this time, but last time it was awesome with the jacuzzi. I didn't eat the breakfast as I was up and gone before it came out. Overall good experience and I will probably stay again, if I think it's the better option, or if I'm staying on Saint Simons.

Older building, but renovated. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Pool area looked nice. Unfortunately our room (107) had a moldy smell and the humidity was higher. Unfortunately the AC didn’t help. We didn’t check, if a better room would be available, because we only stayed for 1 night and it was already late.

My air conditioning system would not adjust to temperature nor would it turn off. I ended up unplugging it. Room 123

Toilet overflowed and no one was called to fix the issue. A “manager” apparently just tried to plunge the toilet but it did not work and the plunger was left lying on the bathroom floor. Staff was rude.

The front desk staff called personally to check on me because I was running late for my check-in. I was completely impressed by this!!! The room was spotless, comfortable, and felt like home. The beds were more comfortable than my own! I wanted to take them home! I had to leave early and again the young lady at the front desk made this hassle-free. Your staff is amazing!!!

Location was great. Tv in our room didn’t work and they said that they couldn’t give us a discount because we booked through a 3rd party (Expedia). That’s understandable, so I asked if we could get a small best western gift card for our inconvenience. They said yes, and that someone in corporate would be contacting us. Nobody ever contacted us and we couldn’t get through to the right person so we never received anything. Very disappointed considering Best western is a well known company. Anyway, the location was perfect and everything else was good.

Ramon and his crew are always on top of everything. The entire staff is always friendly, helpful, and hard working. From the housekeeping, to front desk, to the breakfast, everyone makes you feel welcome.

My stay here was very enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The only negative was some updating was needed as well as some minor repairs. Both of these could be excused due to the difficulty in obtaining adequate help. Would recommend.

My husband and I spent a lot g weekend and left knowing we were coming back. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is located in a very quiet area that just adds to the ambiance of the pool and hot tub area!

The hotel location is very close to the beach area and local restaurants. Very quiet and the room was very nice and comfortable. Super friendly staff. Will definitely go back

An ideal location for our overnight visit to St Simons. We stopped on our way north from Florida to break our trip and see what the area was like. Friendly staff who gave us a restaurant recommendation that met our budget and appetite for local seafood. We would defintely stay there again.

Great place to stay. The price is right and it is very clean. Conveniently located to a lot of things. Not within walking distance but a short car ride would get you everywhere.

The pool area was very nice. The room was quiet. Animals are allowed. The breakfast was very good. There wasn’t much right around the hotel but you could drive 10 minutes and find things.

Beautiful location. Rooms are clean and well equipped. The swimming pool and spa area is lush and beautifully kept. Lots of great restaurants and shops within a few minutes drive.

Both us and our puppies were comfortable here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Very clean and comfortable

Nice rooms, GORGEOUS patio/pool area. Very good breakfast.

The hotel was nice and comfortable. Everything worked. They didn't clean the floor in the room so it got dirty from sand after a few days (our fault). We could have to used a broom. The breakfast was very good the first morning. the eggs and sausage were not hot the next morning.

We love this best western for the pool. Our children spend the entire vacation splashing. However there were many things outdated and broken in our room. In addition there were 2-3 of everything and we made it clear there were four guests. The staff is very sweet. The breakfast is minimal and many items are broken or missing

This is our 4th stay at this hotel. It was a very pleasant experience as usual. Room was clean and breakfast was excellent. Staff was courteous. The grounds are kept up well. You won't be disappointed.

We had a wonderful time at the hotel and hope to stay there again for our next trip. It was very safe and family friendly. The pool was amazing! The breakfast was also great!

I have stayed in other 4 star hotels that were not as clean and updated as this one. Granite counters in the bathrooms and clean updated furniture, we stayed for a weekend getaway. Pool area was beautiful and breakfast was stocked and hot every morning, I hate to say I can not remember her name (pregnancy brain sorry!) but the lady running breakfast was so sweet and did a great job. The grounds were beautiful and we were less than 2 minutes from the pier, lighthouse, Starbucks and restaurants! Look forward to returning. Front desk ladies were very kind as well!
