Saint Simons Inn by the Lighthouse

Parking under building was VERY tight. Unique room decor.

My stay was good. Room was very clean. The parking is tricky. Park on ground floor beneath the hotel. Vey tight parking. There was noises coming from pool area after pool closing hour of 10 pm which wasn't to bothersome. Walking distance to restaurants and the pier.

Great location for a visit to the Island. Room was a good size and comfortable. Breakfast was a bit spartan but it was food. Convenient walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. Parking is very tight.

We were in town for the lighthouse celebration, the hotel elevator only had 2 floors, but the owners must live on the 3rd floor, all night, we heard loud foot stomping, banging, a dog howling, I have stayed at Red Roof with better sleep. I won't recommend the hotel, parking is very tight if you own a full size truck like mine, it actually was over the line in the next spot, FYI. I meant to complain at the front desk, but since room service was banging on doors and yelling room service at 9am, I figure it would not matter. Was so disappointed in the hotel.

The Inn was very nice, and a very short walk all to downtown area, with a few restaurants/bars. The room was really nice and updated. You could also drive to other restaurants, a very short distance away. The lighthouse is right out front of the Inn. The only thing that is a little bothersome, is that the parking garage spaces, are really tight.

We did not know that the elevator only goes to the second floor and we were on the third floor. At ages 76 and 75 we had to carry heavy items from the second to the third floor. The coffee maker was dirty, the plug for the tub would not hold water for a bath, and the water never got above luke warm. Staff was very friendly and the location was excellent. Covered parking was very good.

Parking was an absolute nightmare! Some people that were parking their cars of course wanted to protect their cars and parked and unique ways. There's a sign in the garage that says we are not responsible for damage to your vehicle or to your personal property parking is very close. Other than that it was wonderful literally walking distance to the beach to the lighthouse to eating to the playground area at the pier. Would definitely stay again I would just park somewhere else.

I so wanted to give this hotel five stars just because of the location, comfortable bed, and the price. If I went back to St. Simons Island would I stay here again..maybe so. We stayed in two different rooms and both were far from being sparkly clean. We had to be moved from our first room because it was leaking into the room below us. In the first room, the off-white chair pads were so grossly stained we wouldn’t sit in them. The second room had a lamp in it with mold growing on the lamp shade! The rug was disgustingly dirty, stained and worn down. Maybe the Hotel’s just going through a phase. If they were to read this, I would tell them,”throw the lamp away. Get rid of the rug. Change out the chair pads. Hire a new cleaning crew. Fix your ice machine. Make sure your ice water is fresh with fresh fruit in it instead of tainted. Clean the stairwells when they have dirt clods in them. Send a maintenance guy in the rooms with some caulk and paint.” I guess you can tell I’ve given this a lot of thought the staff here at the hotel were great. The location was awesome right across from the lighthouse could easily walk a couple blocks and be two different restaurants and shops. We paid $125 a night so gosh, I don’t see how you can beat thatI’m rooting for this hotel to make improvements. Would love to go back and visit. It’s a great place to go if you do stay here know that all the rooms are different so do your research.

The cleanliness was lacking. Mildew on shower curtain liner, dust on furniture and baseboards, long hair (numerous strands) in one of the beds. Spider webs/dust on the popcorn ceiling. Questioned if the toilet had actually been cleaned or if it was just stained that way. Had it not been so late at night when we checked in and our concern for finding an available hotel nearby, we definitely would not have stayed.

Location was great. Room was not clean and had mold growing around window and doors.

The room was nice but the bathroom fixture needed a good cleaning. It was lime build up all around the faucet. The decor on the walls had not been dusted in a while. The trim paint on the baseboard in the bathroom needed to be repainted. The breakfast was good but nothing hot. Bagels, pastries, muffins, cereal and toast. The pool needed some work as well. Overall it was a nice place but could use a little TLC.

The room was charming, and the breakfast was great. Overall cleanliness was good. However the chest that I put my clothes in had mold in the back, -so I had to wash my clothes. When I reported the mold to the manager, he said they would clean the mold abd put a dehumidifier in the room, but when I returned that evening, mot only was the mold not cleaned, but no demumidifier,and no housekeeping services were done in the room! When this lack was reported, they said "thanks for telling us, but did not even offer a discount on th e room! If not for this lack of response, I would have given the Inn a top rating.

The room was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The location is within walking distance to several shops, restaurants, and playgrounds. The staff was also friendly. We would stay here again.

Once I saw the build-up on my shower head, it was a little difficult to get comfortable about the cleanliness. I did bring it to their attention, they and I tried to clean it but it actually needed to be replaced. At some point, you have to replace stuff. Also, I didn't get my room cleaned, so my trash cans were never emptied. However, the inn overall was well maintained. When you have to tell your kids, don't wash your face in the shower, that's not a place you would stay at again. My shower head was full of grime! It was pretty gross.

Parking very difficult. Room not cleaned very well. Soda left in refrig, used soap in bathroom. Floors in bathroom need scrubbing. Staff very nice and helpful. Brunch good but need some protein.

This hotel should not be scored a 9. It has a pervasive smell throughout and is not clean.

We loved room 116! The staff are super friendly and everything is so clean.

Power was out for over 2 hours, which I understand. However, no one knew how to reset the elevator and the stairwell had NO lighting. At 2:15 AM some other guests had an argument/confrontation in the hallway with a lot of yelling and cursing. Front desk had a very hard time resolving the issue. A call to law enforcement would have solved it. Pillow was like a hard log. Toilet had hair on it. Shower was a walk in with no place to put toiletries or soap: you had to lay everything on the shower floor. Also no place to hang your towel, so you had to step from the shower soaking wet and cross the 7 ft to the other side of the bathroom for a towel. We stayed in room 209. Since this is the 2nd time we’ve had issues with excessive noise, I don’t think we will return.

Great location for shopping and sightseeing but our room, even tho had a view of the lighthouse, was right off the lobby and breakfast area and it was noisy. Also an older building with thin walls and flooring so we heard every footstep above us.

Right across the street from the lighthouse. Could see it while lying in bed. Room was clean and spacious. My only complaint was no hot water in the shower.

I like the area around this hotel. It's so nice to walk everywhere. The hotel needs major update. The room painted in dark burgundy color. And someone did a very sloppy job. I prefer a shower, so got room with shower option. There is no one shelf inside the shower cabin!??? I had to put shampoo,conditioner and shower jel on the floor. There is no place in the room to put wet swimming suit to dry after beach. It is no shelf or hooks beside the door to put hats or jackets. Not enough seating options. I loved the area, not so much hotel. And the cleanliness: our headboard was upholstered with plaid black and white fabric. There are 2 big yellow stains on it , the white fitted sheet had 2 yellow stains... the bathroom floor was done poorly: cracks in the corners, glue stains on the tiles makes you think it's dirty. The faucet handle for hot water was broken. Breakfast was mediocre, nothing to feel yourself spesial.

Rooms need to be updated a little. A/c units are old

The room was beautiful. The hotel was awesome. You could see the lighthouse from there. Breakfast was good. The only complaint was it’s very noisy because it’s an older motel. It doesn’t have all the acoustics to keep it quiet so you definitely knew what was going on in the next room.

Room was big and roomy. Bedding was disappointing. Sheets and coverings were old and scratchy. Shower was huge but nozzles need to be cleaned in order to spray adequately. Took for ever for water to heat up and it was barely warm. There was not adequate parking for customers. People working were nice and friendly.

Nice small hotel, friendly staff and excellent location. However we had a bad experience with the AC in the room. The room was very humid and musty smelling. They provided with a dehumidifier and it helped some, although after a few hours the tank filled and stopped running.

Staff is amazing and super helpful and friendly. Location is very central and very walkable. Parking is easy, was plentiful the weekend we visited. Beds were super comfortable, slept very soundly. The room was a bit dated, but quaint and again very comfortable bed. There was a dripping sound outside our window, we saw that the AC units dripped onto each other so there was nothing to be done about it during our stay, but whenever the room above us had it on, it dripped on our unit and made a sound - we had to use a white noise machine. We could also hear every noise in the hallway, including kids running up and down the hallway which was fine and didn't happen when we were sleeping but the walls seem thin. Overall good value for the location and friendly staff!!

Front door lock was inoperatve. Tasha, the evening reprentative had to use the master key to let us in after four card readers were unsuccessful. The master key was difficult to open the door. TV remote would not work. The float in the toilet tank was sticking. The morning re

I learned from the night front desk clerk that each room is individually owned and decorated. I really enjoyed the quaintness of the Inn and convenience to the lighthouse, pier, shops, restaurants and golf. I can't say enough about Mr. Dawson, he went beyond is duty when he brought an ironing board to my room. I thought that was very thoughtful, professional and awesome customer service. He recieves two thumbs up from me.

Friendly staff and easy walk to dining options.

Every single staff member we encountered during our stay were welcoming, polite and welcoming. The room was overall good, it does need some updating, but nothing major.

Very disappointed in our stay. We were there for an event and on checking in on first day we were informed key machine wasn’t working so reception had to open door for us . Sadly this went on for the duration of our stay which was aggravating . The staff were friendly and apologetic but honestly no one seemed to have an answer as to how and when it could be resolved. Just a drag not being able to easily access room when we needed to without hauling all the way to reception to get an escort with the master key.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were courteous and professional...and cheerful! We were close and within walking distance to everything.

There was 1 or 2 park spaces we could not fit in on arrival. Manager and guy moved their cars for us. So nice. Service started out great. That night I was freezing, having trouble regulating my temperature and called down to ask for an extra blanket. The girl started to say they didn’t have any and said that “there are no house keepers tonight and we don’t keep blankets up front. They are kept in the back.” I barely slept that night. For a 300.00 night room one would expect at least the front desk staff to walk “back” and grab a blanket. Lazy. I had to grab the towels out of the bathroom and place over the spread. When that wasn’t enough my husband layed his half of the spread over me. How hard is it to get an extra blanket for someone?! The Continental breakfast was not diabetic friendly. Breads of all kinds, cereal, sugared up yogurt, fruit and oatmeal. Could at least have cottage cheese. I wish we could have given a better review but I’m getting tired of letting people who just don’t give a ship slide.

I came from Florida to stay at this hotel because I was fleeing hurricane Milton. First of all, these are the NICEST people I have ever encountered at a hotel. The receptionist was amazing on the phone and shockingly when I arrived she called me by name eventhough I had only spoken on the phone with her 5 hours prior. She said she recognized my voice. The room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable and smelled wonderful. The shower wasn't the cleanest, had blonde hair on the shower walls and dust/dirt in the corners. I didn't feel it worth complaining about though. The other receptionist that was there the next day was super friendly as well, the room service lady was nice, and so was one named Flo that found and chased me down to return to me. I originally paid for a 3 night stay but didn't feel comfortable staying because of the suspected storm surges. The hotel was sooo accommodating and happily refunded my 2 nights because I was fleeing the storm. I will be coming back just to stay in the AMAZING room I was in and explore the beautiful area and experience the best service. I wish I had the names of the receptionists because they were just above and beyond southern hospitality! Ok. I'll stop talking now lol. I just want you all to know how AWESOME this place is and that I super recommend it!!!

We absolutely loved staying here! The most perfect location- we could walk to the beach, pier, and restaurants within just a few minutes. Parking is a little tight (we have an F150), but it was never an issue. The staff was super nice and our room was always clean! We enjoyed the breakfast that was provided and access to the coffee machine all day. Bed was comfy, room was spacious. They even provided a pack-n-play for our one year old to sleep in. We would definitely stay here again!

Small inn with a great location by the Saint Simons Island lighthouse. Every room has a different decor which gives it the feel of a boutique hotel. The inn has a super nice and very helpful staff. Continental breakfast was an added plus. I would definitely stay here again. I lowered the rating for eco-friendliness because they use a lot of bleach. If it were my hotel, I'd install liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers in the shower to eliminate all the packaging waste from mini bottles of toiletries.

Close to pier, shopping and restaurants.

Location was two blocks from restaurants, shopping and beach. Staff was great and helpful with any questions!!

The staff was wonderful and the locale was perfect. We were able to walk to everything and yet we felt very secluded from the crowd staying closer to the beach. Quiet very nice.

Nice place breakfast inclusive but poor

Staff was friendly and offered clean linens daily. Room was clean. Gourmet coffee machine was neat. Continental breakfast offered a large selection but just know there are no protein options. Parking is offered underground but spaces are very tight, especially for trucks and SUVs.

Wonderful location. Convenient to restaurants, lighthouse, shopping, pier. Very nice room. Pillows were like logs though. AC was loud. No protein at breakfast (except yogurt) - all carbs. Did have fresh fruit and nice coffee machine.

Really cool, old place. Anything with character usually has its maintenance challenges, but they have done a great job of keeping up with the place while keeping its charm. Fair prices too. Breakfast was really basic breads and cereals, but was good enough in a hurry.

This location is amazing. The coffee machine and complimentary bakery muffins, bagels, etc. were absolutely lovely. We enjoyed walking down by the lighthouse to the waterfront to enjoy our breakfast and coffee. The rooms are spacious with lots of character. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants. Tina at reception was awesome! We will definitely be back.
