Hotel guest not given priority parking, restaurant customers use hotel’s spots. Coffee machines were limited and not functioning properly. Breakfast was limited, fresh food was limited to micro apples. Hotel staff smoking visibly near elevator and in car park. Tv remotes were sticky and tacky to the touch. Shower drain’s tiles were loose and stuck to bottom of foot in the shower. Advertising oversold on most features of hotel.

The property is beautiful; however, the internal workings need an overhaul. The elevator did not work. The water was off for almost the entire day of the first full day of our stay. The spa bathtub did not work. The dishwasher in the suite did not work. Do not think we will stay again.

Nice, small hotel (15 rooms). HUGE ROOMS. HUGE Patio. TWO FULL BATHS (one with shower, one with tub/shower). Only disappointment - the "beach view" Presidential Suite really has a "partial view" - there are several 3-4 story condos across the street. We see the beach between the buildings (and we listen and see the people on the roof of one partying). We were also disappointed that the hotel did not let us know in advance that the Rooftop Restaurant was closed for renovations. That was one of the reasons we selected them. We ended up leaving a day early.

Our stay at the Ocean Lodge Resort was very pleasant. We were taken back by the view of the ocean from the room's balcony and rooftop terrace. The Housekeeping staff was very warm and friendly and made our stay exceptional. Kudos to Mrs. Star, Mrs. Minnie, Mrs. Dream, the rest of the Housekeeping Crew and the entire staff for making our stay a memorable one. The only complaint I would have to give is the misinformation on some of the web pages about the amenities of the stay. THEY DO NOT OFFER BREAKFAST (CONTINENTAL IN THE LOBBY OR AT THE RESTAURANT) OR LUNCH so be prepared to bring your own breakfast and lunch items to cook or go out somewhere to eat. They only offer dinner from 5 pm to 9 pm throughout the week. Menus were in the elevator but not sure why they were there unless there is brunch offered on the weekend. Our stay was from Wednesday to Friday so we didn't get to really experience that. I believe the restaurant is opened to the public but there is limited parking.

This is our second time staying here- the room was decent we had tybee presidential suite- however there was no coffee pot in room despite having keuring cups and sugar- we called and asked for coffee pot one was promptly brought to our room- but it didn't work- so they brought up another one which also did not work- the front desk was accommodating and made a cup of coffee for my husband from their coffee pot in office- however the next few mornings he was without- Also there was no luggage holder in the room we had to use the coffee table for suitcases as my husband has a bad back and can not bend over to floor to reach his things- Also the tile floor was absolutely covered in sand my husband asked for a broom and swept our room- there should be some carpet in there in my opinion because walking on tile for days hurts our feet and back and would make vacummming easier than having a sandy floor all the time- Another suggestion is there is no full length mirror not in the closet for hanging clothes or anywhere- this may seem silly to some but we had reservations every night for dinner and I was unable to do a outfit check properly other than using my phone- The restaurant upstairs was one of the places we had dinner- food was good, service definitely has room for improvement because after we received our food we didn't get a check in from our waitress for over 30+ minutes. we were on the 4th floor and the restaurant was directly above us so was quite loud- so we used tv-

I loved the whole decor and the layout of the place. The only thing I didn’t like is the entire place needed a good heavy duty cleaning. Especially the floors. My socks where black in less than an hour of being there. Needs a really good deep dusting and the tub grout needs a deep cleaning it was pink and some black moldy looking!

The property is beautiful and situated right across from the beach at St Simons. The suite was gorgeous layout with comfortable beds. The only downside was the continental breakfast was out of some supplies and the self service kitchen was very dirty. Someone left a disgusting meal in microwave

I wanted to give this place a 10+ but after our weekend, I could only give this a 4.5. It was too much dust on the paintings, too many hair strands in the shower tub that wasn’t ours. The pillows had brown stains on them. The coffee tea maker was nasty and dirty. Forget about trying to sleep in because there were movers or other people moving things around at 7:30 9:00 in the morning. How to drink at the bar and I thought it was a virgin because I didn’t taste any alcohol, but as it seems, the bartender & a few others were drinking behind the bar so maybe that’s where the alcohol went for my drink. I advised that it was our anniversary and no type of anything was a surprise. Someone called to confirm our stay and to receive additional information about our stay, I called back 3 times, no one answered or called back after I left a message. It’s not what I expected.

check in is 4 if we wanted to check in early (we arrived at 3), they would charge us $75. so we left and shopped until after 4. room still not ready. waited another 45 minutes. floor had been mopped but still filthy. our feet left dirt after shower on bath mat. staff very unprofessional.

Reid in the bar was fantastic and our food was delicious. The floor in our room was dirty. When we first got there I took my shoes off and my socks were black. It makes you question everything else.

Our room needed an update. Old/stained furniture. Linens for pull out sofa were left in a ball, appeared to have been used. They did bring fresh linens. Floors were dirty, wore socks around and they were brown on the bottom after a few hours. Needs a deep clean and some TLC with the furniture.

The property was nice and quaint with a beautiful but obstructed view of the beach and ocean off the balcony. Although the condo was nice the furniture was a little dated. Also the walls are very thin. The first night there was some women having a girls night next door and we could hear their conversations very clear. Also when we were sitting on the couch watching tv my wife saw roach crawling on me. I also had to kill one the next morning. The water was not hot for long in the shower. Overall it was a decent place to stay. I wish the continental breakfast had more to offer but we found good places to eat breakfast on the island. The bed was comfortable and clean. Overall we would stay here again minus the bugs.

Room floors dirty. Kitchen trash can full on check in. Coffee maker in room and breakfast area broken. Jacuzzi bath would not hold water despite drain plug working properly. Staff was kind, but did not address or fix anything. Zero hospitality training evident.

Floors needed washed. Bottoms of feet were BLACK after walking out of shower to bedroom. Luckily there were bath slippers in the closet to use, if you purchased them. Hotel is quaint and has a unique European feel.

It was okay. Though the room I got was nice, it was not what I had originally booked. I thought I had booked a suite with a jetted tub and a separate shower and the room I got had only a tiny shower that was malfunctioning and had no hot water. I was told by hotel staff that because I had booked through Expedia at a discounted rate that is what I got and the pictures online were inaccurate.

We liked the double balcony in the Presidential suite. however, the King bed was very slanted on the right side. The furniture was dated. the hotel could use updating all around. stairs were soiled from usage. You could see light through the cracks on the front door. During our five day stay, there was a utility cart of dirty supplies outside our door The front desk staff was not hospitable, was mostly on their phone everytime we visited the front desk.

Please don’t sell something you can’t live up too. Presidential suite should be pristine and include daily housekeeping at least towels and beds made, well it doesn’t. Location is ok but be forewarned if you go on a Saturday evening they will book parties at the bar lounge that are loud until 11pm! We heard the tables and chair’s above our heads until 11:30 pm. I would go off season and maybe enjoy a more quiet experience.

We have been on the road for 18 days and had excellent stays at all the hotels we booked. This property was the exception. When we got to our room, the floors were covered with water and the temperature was 90 degrees. The A/C was dysfunctional, and the receptionist seemed uninterested in helping us. She wanted us to be patient and wait for the A/C to be repaired. It was clear that the unit was not going to be fixed anytime soon. I asked for another room, and she said she would have to call someone. We finally got another room, but were called the next morning and told that we had to move to another room. The “free breakfast” advertised in Trip Adviser was orange juice, water, coffee, and milk. The restaurant was closed the two nights we were there. Check-out was advertised as

Disappointed!! The resort is old. The rooms are dark, dirty and smell. The filter has not been changed - dirty. There was a sign on the dishwasher that it was broken. Do not stay in room 305. The noise from the rooftop chairs is loud. We tried to sit on our balcony - could not enjoy it because of smokers from the room/staff area below. When we arrived to check in - there was no one at the front desk. We waited and then a person came in wreaking of marijuana. She was more concerned on finding her cell phone than trying to check us in. Not a good first impression. The resort may have had one or two other guests staying at the resort. This was our first-time visiting SSI-maybe it would have been better if we had not stayed at Ocean Lodge. Safe walk to town. Good restaurants to try: Mullet Bay, Palm Coast and Brogens. Shopping was ok-nothing to brag about.

The Lodge is beautiful, inside and out. Views from The Rooftop and my 4th floor balcony were gorgeous. The couch is not very comfortable and the drawer is missing from the desk. The bed was very comfortable and the baths and kitchen are fantastic. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only issue we had was with payment. I reserved and paid for the room through Travelocity, yet my wife was charged again for the room when she arrived before me. It took 24-48 hours to have the second charge removed from my credit card. There was an issue with the employee not being able to find my payment through Travelocity. This caused me major stress. Other than the credit card issue, our stay was very enjoyable.

We have visited this hotel many times and have always enjoyed the rooftop bar. This is the first time we've stayed here. The rooms are big and with all the amenities that come with the room you could live there for a month. This hotel is very convenient to the village and the restaurants in the area. We will stay here again when we visit the island.

Very nice, clean, and up to date room. The staff was friendly, and the location was great! If you enjoy walking there is plenty to do within walking distance of the hotel and if your not big on walking it’s a short drive.

Great spot in St Simons. Room is spacious and clean. Easy walk to beach and even down town. Also easy walk to BBQ/Bar. The upstairs restaurant was great. Wonderful staff. Will be just staying here when we travel to area again.

Very quiet stay, the three staff I talked to during my stay were very friendly and hospitable. Check in is all digital we received a email with check in and check out instructions. Room was clean, we didnt check the bar and restaurant as it was closed for the 3 days we stayed. Parking was nice and easy. Close beach access and 5 minutes from the lighthouse, park and pier.

Check in and out couldn’t be easier. Location was great, close to beach access and not far drive from the local attractions/businesses. We stayed in Presidential Studio and the room was beautiful and had everything we needed. Parking was easy (didn’t require a pass but had no issues always have a spot.) Didn’t get to use them but saw beach chairs were available. 10/10, hope to stay again!

It looks exactly like the pictures. The rooms are very elegant, although some things are a little worn. Kind of make it fit with that “old world” charm, though. Very short walk to the beach, decent continental breakfast while we were there, and close to just about everything. The restaurant is only open Wed-Sat, so plan on dining out. Spent much time on the balcony listening to the waves. Was a good experience overall.

This property has a very quaint vibe and very convenient location. The staff is helpful, friendly, funny and made our stay even better. No pool was a bummer, but hey. Breakfast is very limited and very continental, (at least a waffle maker or some fruit or something would help.) Trimming the tops of the trees would really help the limited room view. All in all, we would stay again!

The room was nice. The AC went out. The staff did not lock our room back after repairman left as they said they would.The restaurant was a huge disappointment!!!! We used to eat there, and it truly was a fine dining experience. This past week, we discovered poor quality food, no wine list, and one server for entire restaurant.

The rooms had very nice decor and was clean. However, when we checked-in there were very few plates and flatware. When we asked for some the front desk attendant found some but told us we had to wash them ourselves. Rooms had several burned-out light bulbs and the telephone did not work. It was Labor Day and you'd expect the restaurant to be open on such a popular holiday -- it was closed. Although our dinner was excellent, we expected to see a drink menu for a restaurant that was so highly touted -- no drink menu. The hotel was conveniently located to shopping, dining and an extremely nice beach! Overall, I'd give this hotel 3.5 stars. If they tightened up on their customer service, I'd rate it as 4 to 4.5 stars. Nevertheless, I would stay there again.
