Good size room, exterior condition of walls showing signs of several decades of weathering. Some staff seemed less than eager to serve, some were great (pool staff and restaurant), some others like the baggage/concierge and front desk interactions were less warmly received.

We stayed 3 nights and the Royal Kona is close to shops and restaurants. The property is showing its age and some areas are under renovation. Staff were helpful and baggage and valet staff were working their tails off.

The people were very nice and very helpful. They even have a person that will arrange tours for you. The hotel has everything you will need. Short walking distance from restaurants, farmers market and other shops. When I come back, I will stay there again.

This resort is in need of some major updates. The buildings are shabby. Staff is nice but restaurant service not great. Best thing is the location. Walking distance to Kona-Kailua. We won’t revisit until updates are made.
