I will stay here again. Was happy with the room size, the room and building seemed clean, staff was friendly, and a good rate. Could have had more options for breakfast, but wasn't bad. Hot tub was nice but could have been a bit warmer. But was a great 2 night stay.

One night stay, comfortable enough room, decent breakfast. The hotel interior was noticeably dark. The internet was down the whole time and this girl’s softball team made it impossible for my boys to swim or use the fitness center they wouldn’t stop harassing them. When the pool was available the next day it was closed for maintenance so my boys were bummed they couldn’t swim. I had to take them to a water park nearby to satiate their need to swim.

Big rooms, loved the bathrooms! Nice sized breakfast area. Convenient to shopping and DesMoines. My only complaint was the water in the pool and hot tub looked grungy. But still we will stay there again!

The carpet needs cleaning throughout the hotel. The drain in the sink was slow. I stayed multiple nights but this is a hotel that’s fine for an overnight stay and that’s it. Probably will choose something else next visit.

Upon entering the hotel we noticed a horrible musty, moldy smell. We were told it was the laundry room, however the entire place smelled like this. The elevator to our room was dirty and smelled like puke. The hallways reeked liked mold and our room was the same. The TV was barely working, the fridge was so iced over it was hard to put things into it and the microwave, clean but broken. The bed was in older condition with body divots on both sides of the king bed. The shower was in need of cleaning as it had started to form pink slim on the edges, the carpet needs shampooing and so does the red chair. Overall, this hotel is gross. I have never been so excited to leave a hotel room as I was this one. I will never stay at this hotel again.

This place should.be in the hood in some inner city. Deplorable. Room stank so bad i had to put car freshner on the AC unit. Parking lot has holes the size of the grand canyon. Fillthy carpets. Paint peeling in room. Breakfast had expired yogurt and stale cereal. I WILL NEVER BOOK HERE AGAIN.

The lady that checked us up was beyond accommodating and very friendly. The beds were comfortable. The chairs in the room were old and stained, but did not affect this review. The only reason the review is not higher is the various BED BUG BITES I sustained during my stay!! Note to Hotel staff… burn the beds in room 2*9 (at least the one closest to the window)!!

The nearby pond was a nice touch! However, we had mold growing around the vent in the bathroom. There also appreared to be red spots resembling blood drops on the carpet. When we mentioned it to the front desk, we were told they would look at it.

The room was average, but there was a very loud exhaust fan in the bathroom that could not be turned off and runs all day and night everyday. I was told every room in the hotel has the same fan which is controlled by the hotel...there is no switch in the individual rooms. The sound was so loud that it made it difficult to sleep.

We had 3 young grandchildren with us and were given a huge room, with 2 queen-size beds and 2 hide-a-beds. It was wonderful, plus they used the pool a couple of times. Made for a fun weekend with the grands.

Location is great. The bathroom needs a renovation. It looks like they started it but stopped. Backsplash tile half done but from the mirror prior they just didn’t bother finishing the wall. The shower needs to be completely scrubbed. Felt like a dirty locker room shower floor. The sewer pipes… I’m not a plumber but the smell. The fan was always going. No switch to turn off. Great if you like white noise. The noise in the hallway is something you can’t control but the amounts of kids running in the hall at night could be. Don’t let your kids slam doors and scream. Overall probably wouldn’t stay here again. Just needed a place to sleep for a night. Very convenient location.

Flashback to the 80’s. Don’t think anything has been updated since. Vent in bathroom had years of dust. Ceiling in shower peeling. Carpets and furnishings are very old. Bed was comfy. Breakfast in the morning seemed fine, but we opted to dine out. Wasn’t a very clean place overall. We needed a place to stay after a concert and had booked this 7 months in advance. For $168 for one night, we’d go elsewhere next time. When I think of Country Inn and Suites, this doesn’t live up to the standard we’ve experienced at others.

My husband and I arrived at the front desk check in and two women were behind it. They were having their own conversation and we were the only guests in the lobby. They continued to talk with each other for about five minutes before making eye contact or even acknowledging us with a simple “hello.” Finally after we were checked in we made our way to our room. On the way to the room the carpets were soaking wet in places, stained, and smelled moldy. Once in the room we noticed black hairs all over the bathroom floor and the bottom of the shower didn’t look like it had been cleaned. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. We made it to the hot tub at about 1130 pm. It was warm at best, had a greenish color, and smelled like pond water. We only stayed a couple minutes. I think this hotel could be a lot better if a little bit of care/love was put into it. We definitely won’t be staying again.

The front desk worker was inconsiderate and inflexible. We requested a handicap accessible room at the time of the reservation. At check-in, it wasn't available, but we were told it would be later. When we returned, a different person said there was only a king bed room (There were 4 of us) and it would be $300. We stepped away to discuss if we could afford a second room. Deciding we didn't have much choice, we told her ok. She then said the total would be $385! We had talked for less than 5 minutes and the room price had gone up! We explained a person in our party had Parkinson's, a recently amputated toe and using a mobility scooter, Zero consideration- just a "too bad" attitude. We made the original room work with difficulty. Also, the tub caulking was cracked and looked moldy and the air conditioner was very loud. The only bright spot was a very helpful housekeeping staff member.

Hotel was nice but front desk staff wasn’t professional. Our room was on the third floor and the people staying next to our room had a bunch of kids and they were making a ton of noise during the day and night. We have kids also so the noise didn’t bother us. The people on the 2nd floor complained about the noise and the front desk knocked on our door around 5pm telling us to be quiet. I told the lady we weren’t making noise and that was the end of it. At around 10:30pm when everyone in my room was sleeping the same front desk lady was pounding on our door yelling front desk. When I opened the door she said “sorry” and walked towards the room next to us with all the noise. Front desk staff should investigate properly before knocking on doors late at night to try to hear where the loud noise is coming from before waking up innocent families.

Comfortable beds. Pool area was a little cold but my kids didnt mind. Breakfast was delicious. Everything worked like it should in the room.

Very clean hotel with exceptional customer service. My room was very comfortable and clean with the exception. My curtain was ripped upon arrival, but I reported it immediately so I wouldn’t be charged for any damages. The staff was very attentive. I like hot tea before I go to bed and there was hot water available in the breakfast nook downstairs. The breakfast that was free and included in the stay was yummy. They also had a mini waffle maker since I don’t like the large ones. I choose to stay out in Ankeny when I go to Des Moines for business and will continue to make the short drive to this area Again and again. This was my first day at this particular hotel, and it was very comforting.

These Country Inn and Suites are generally nice places to stay however, There was no hot water this morning and the manager at the front desk stated that it happens all the time due to most of the people staying at the hotel are taking showers at the same time. ????? Never had that happen and breakfast was an hour late getting started I got down to the dining area after 7 am and there were no hot breakfast items out for the customers. Never had that happen either. Pretty sad!
