Super 8 by Wyndham Fort Madison

Not enough towels and the property stunk like the family that owned the motel.

Building was poorly maintained.

All AC was off and hallway windows open in August. The stench of marijuana coming from the room across from me was horrible. Shower walls were dirty and bathroom floor was gritty. I set the AC at 70° and upon returning it was off and blazing hot and humid in my room. At check out he would not give me a receipt even though I paid him directly. Having said this, it was only a $70.00 room so I guess you get what you pay for.

I was only there for one night passing through. The outside hallways had a strong smell of cigirett smoke, but when I enetered the room I did not smell it anylonger. The room was very nice. Very clean, with everything looking updated. The room coffee service and soaps were an choice. The price was also very good for what was recieved. A Top Value. Will stay again when passing through. The man cleaning the rooms on my way out the next morning was very cheerful and thanked me for staying. Ricky S. Licking Missouri

The property needs some updating and maybe a deeper cleaning. There was a little noise, but not overwhelming. Breakfast was cleaned up before the 10am even though the sign said breakfast till 10am.

This is an older hotel with NO elevator to get to the 2nd floor. Tried to cancel my 2nd and 3rd day there but was told I booked for 3 nights and had to pay for all 3. No refund. People in parking lot looked like they were waiting to steal from the cars later.Room was HOT had NO air conditioner on when we arrived. Room was clean and quiet. A room was available the 2nd and 3rd night downstairs, so my aged mother wouldn't have to go upstairs. We only stayed the one night and traveled on.

Everything was great. We had lots of snow while sraying there and the sidewalks werent shoveled very promptly so we had to walk through a lot of snow to get to our car. Other than that, it was a good stay.

No elevator, my wife and I have issues using stairs. No ice machine on 2nd floor. Would not accommodate.

Love that there was plenty of parking, and no noise outside as well as inside. Very clean rooms.Staff was very friendly.

Had my tires sliced in back parking lot

This was by far the WORST hotel experience. The room was filthy, covered in a film of dust and various unknown things covering the walls and other surfaces. It had a terrible smell upon entering the room. The hotel staff opened our door while we were in the room and came in WITHOUT permission. We felt uncomfortable leaving our items in the room. Will not return and was not worth the price.

No running water, beds very stiff windows and stands dirty

Bathroom was really small. Found roaches on the tv stand. Beds were rock hard. Only had 1 soft pillow and 1 was a rock.

The breakfast was not very good. Not much for choices. Bathroom needed the wall and back of door scrubbed. Floor needed mopped. Carpet in hall and room were very clean. People were very nice.

Dirty and dilapidated. Horrible smells

Bathroom dmelled like urine and hair in bathtub. Took forever to get checked in wafgle maker not clean .Room smelled like it was doused in fabreeze .

It was a place to sleep and that was pretty much it. I booked myself at the wrong place. It was not terrible but it could have been a little cleaner.

Great location for visiting Nauvoo church history sites (once the bridge is open to cross over the river). The room was clean, the bed was good and the AC worked well with medium noise level. Their continental breakfast was limited but ok. This is a good 2 star motel.

Had another lamp that didn’t work right

We didn't get the room we wanted-- king-size room was substituted with 2 queen beds and the desk clerk didn't tell us. We found out with we opened the door to the room. When I questioned the desk clerk, he told me that's all they had and turned around and walked back to the room behind a closed door. I asked about some compensation as he walked away from the desk and he said no but never turned around to face me. Hotel room needed some work- shower faucet was broke and curtains didn't close all the way. We checked in at 11pm and the desk clerk was absolutely rude.

Reserved a King room but didn't get one. Toilet lid was chipped and needed replaced.

Won't stay there again. Pillows hard an heavy. Rolled up my robe to use as a pillow

My bed and pillows were very comfortable. We did not have a shower curtain and it took the desk attendant a very ling time to come to the desk when we needed an extra blanket.

Quick check in. Breakfast was posted 6-9am, went at 645 and there was nothing set up. Nobody at the desk at the time, left key on counter

Very accomodating to my late arrival.

Had to go to the front desk multiple times a day just to get key card reactivated, dirty rooms every day and couldn’t get ahold of staff.

We stayed one night. But left early because the cleanliness of the hotel. And then when we arrived back the next day, we asked why there was no housekeeping performed and the front desk guy said they simply just did not come in today and he was sorry. So we left early. One night stay for a two night price. Don’t stay here!

When we arrived, a man in an old tshirt walked out from the back. Didn’t greet us or anything, just asked for our last name. Once I gave it to him, he didn’t ask for a card for incidentals or anything and just handed me a card and said “229”. He literally then left and went back into the room behind the desk. Nothing about breakfast or when checkout was- nothing! I started chuckling because it felt like I was on a hidden camera show, it was so bad. We opened the door to our room and it smelled SO strongly of cigarette smoke. My daughter was coughing and put her shirt over her mouth. I went to open the window (which was already unlocked). The phone in the room didn’t appear to be hooked up, so I called the front desk from my cell phone. The man working the desk must’ve been expecting my call because he picked up and said “hello”, not something like “thank you for calling Super 8”. When I told him about the smell, he insisted the room was non-smoking. He also said there was nothing he could do, as there were no other rooms. After I hung up, my daughter noticed a hole in the bedspread. We ended up leaving and finding another hotel, as there is no way we could’ve slept with that smell. Absolutely the worst hotel I’ve ever been to.

Rude staff, had to continuously call the guy from the front desk to wake him up and come do his job. rooms were dirty, breakfast was pepperoni hot pockets “they were out of else”

Liked the price, and location. However, it's not 5 miles from Nauvoo because a bridge is out, so it took 45 minutes to get to Nauvoo from this location. Front desk person not very friendly. Room clean, but pillows and sheets scratchy and not comfortable.

The rooms were good and clean but breakfast was lacking we and others had to ask for items to be restocked during the last hour.

there was supposed to be breakfast. The first morning--only cold cereal and milk. NO juice, no bread, nothing. Same the rest of the week. I had to go an purchase items to have. On Saturday morning, waffles, yogurt, etc. Still no juice or fruit. I had stay here before and was very disappointed.

The room was okay. The breakfast was non-existent. We were there at 8:00 am and the waffle mix was gone, there was one muffin, 4pkgs. of instant oatmeal and apples that looked like they were two weeks old, dry mini croissants and no one to be found to ask about it. Very disappointing.

That hotel need help. Their breakfast was horrid with certified milk and out dates for.curdled

The place was nice and relaxing. The breakfast was great. I really enjoyed staying there.
