Quality Inn Sycamore - DeKalb

The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The pool and hot tub had a green tinge to it along with a slight cloudy appearance, I opted not to get in. The structure of the hot tub was crumbling and pieces of it were littered on the floor and looked like they had been there for some time. The pool was also cold. The temperature inside the hotel was warm due to no air conditioning being on and the exterior doors were often propped open for ventilation. My hotel room door would not latch unless you really pushed on it and due to anyone having the ability to walk in any of the doors unnoticed I didn’t feel as safe as I should have. There were multiple locks inside the hotel room door so that helped. The rooms were clean and have a large fridge. The bed and multiple pillows were comfortable. The air is a unit system and was either on or off, hi or low. Breakfast was eggs and sausage every morning or waffles. They also had cereal, bagel or toast. Staff was super helpful and very kind. I feel with a little effort in a few areas this would be a place I would stay again but for the cost it met my expectation.

Shower was luke warm, hot tub was cold

The pool room was freezing and the pool water was to cold to swim in.

The pool area is nice. The pool was too chilly for us. Lobby area has been renovated nicely. Noise from rooms above and down the hall not dampened by building design. Sink in the room did not work out for one early bird.

Quality Inn was okay. Hotel room was clean enough but the door lock and keys never worked. Always needed to ask to open our door. Pool was good but a little slimy. Hot tub was nice.

This is an average property that's perfect for a family stay. The pool is nice. The hot tub could be warmer, but not bad. Breakfast is good with warm options, but the dining area is very small. Cleanliness is average. They need to update some furniture but nothing was terrible and the beds are very comfortable. They were low on staff, so the front desk was very busy. Overall its not a 5 star hotel but they provide everything they advertise. You can check in at 3pm and check out at 11am which is very accommodating. If you want free parking, want to swim, and have free breakfast without breaking the bank, it's a comfortable stay. I had 3 rooms with my 5 adult kids and 4 grandkids and we all enjoyed our time there.

The room was very dirty. My family and I saw a cockroach. The staff was amazing tho!

There were items that were left over in the room. Such as a used cup. I stepped on a suasge from a pizza under the desk.

Door was coming off, stained towels, not the cleanest..but the beds were comfortable.

Alicia was nice but this hotel was filthy. We had to change rooms twice due to cleanliness. There was also a hole in the wall of the first room we assigned. There was food and bodily fluid stains on the linen.

My room was dirty there was dried blood on the lamp & there was no hot water to shower, water pressure was not the best either.

I liked that it was surrounded by a lot of food options. The desk and other countertops were not clean.

Seems outdated with the carpet. However both beds have stains on the sheets and is really gross. Found hair in the sausage at breakfast and milk was warm for cereal.

Clean.... but not clean enough.

The staff were all very nice. However the cleanliness was not. Bathroom was not clean nor the bed. The building is run down. Morning breakfast was good. There was a convention in town so all the hotels were booked and rates were raised because of the demand. We had no choice but to stay here and for the $170 we had to pay it should of been much better than it was.

The air conditioner did not cool room off well. The sinks kept backing up would not drain properly and the pool was freezing cold. I have stayed in many indoor pools and never been in one this cold. The continental breakfast was not that great out of almost everything eggs were watery. Was a little disappointed in our stay. Also the full size shampoo was totally out. Although the halls were brighter. The 3nd shift lady does wonderful and noticed she the only one thats gone that extra mile.

Even though the facility is old, I was able to get a good nights sleep.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The furnishings were somewhat worn--it is an older hotel. The pool area looked really nice but we didn't use it. The area was quiet and it did the job. Would stay again.

I was in town on business and was looking for just something simple. The room was comfortable and they have a nice breakfast.

Loved our stay! Lovely staff, spacious room. My boyfriend came to visit family and we got a room for a few days. Definitely plan on coming back in the future!

I was impressed immediately by my interaction with Mike at the front desk and it all went exceedingly thereafter.

Until we could borrow transportation from a friend, we found everything we needed within walking distance. The hotel manager and employees were very helpful as we had to extend our stay for car repairs and the manager was especially accommodating! What could have been a miserable turn in our trip ended up being almost like an extra day of vacation in a perfect spot.

Excellent customer service! everyone was very helpful and nice! We loved our stay

The staff was so nice to us. My brother and I were with our family in town for a funeral. We got in late as we drove from New York and they allowed us to check in at 330am. I called ahead and they remembered my name. When we got there, they were so accommodating and knew who we were. I am so glad I picked this place and the rooms were clean. The staff was the greatest. Thank you for being wonderful to us as we were dealing with a sad situation.

My sons family recently moved to Dekalb Il. We have been hotel hopping looking for the perfect one for when we visit. This hotel shot to the top of the list. Customer service is the best I’ve seen in years, truly. I think we are done hopping.

Super friendly service

Hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff is great. Could use some updating but worth the price. Everytime I'm in town I stay here.

This is an older property. Room was clean with fresh linens. The pool was nice and the hot tub was warm. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was better than I expected. Nothing flashy or fancy, but everything worked. There was a Walgreens right across the street for snacks and essentials. I would return.

Great location. Good breakfast with waffles. Bed was not really comfortable, but not bad. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. We were there for 3 nights of Diesel Days at the Illinois train museum.

The property is conveniently located and has free parking. The pool and hot tub were very nice and clean. The breakfast was the same all 4 days and was average. The rooms were clean but anverage. The entire property needs updating but for $99/night, it was ok.
