Drive up, missing windows, roof looks to be in disrepair. Go inside, am greeted warmly, but she asks if I want to see the room before I check in. I say yes, we go, on the way the open doors show rooms that are shockingly disgusting and "my room" is no better. Carpet looked to not have been cleaned in I don't know how long, the wall had a short smear mark on it. I told her no thanks and she was very polite. The food prep area I saw on my way out made my stomach turn it was so abysmal. This place should be condemned and removed from the app.

I’m not sure how this place is able to continue to operate. During my experience I waited 15 minuets for the front desk person to arrive, they were very nice to their credit. We opted for a non smoking room but was useless as it doesn’t seem that the smoking and non smoking rooms are in separate areas. Everything just smells like cigarettes and an overall funky odor. When we got to our room we noticed a large black trash bag in front of the door of the room next to ours which had a brown (maybe chocolate milk?) substance leaking out on the floor towards our doors entrance. The room was not sanitary looking, the bedding/sheets didn’t look clean, only one power source in the room worked, the smoke detector was hanging out of the ceiling by wires. I would absolutely not recommend this stay.

Property was in terrible condition. Room was dirty. Cigarette burns on the sheets. Several pillows didnt have pillow cases. Smoke detector had been ripped out and the entire room smelled like smoke despite it being a "non-smoking" room. They also had not plowed their parking lot. I had to be towed out because it was so snowy and icy. At least two other customers had to be towed out as well. It was a dump.

this was the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. 2 towels. no was cloths. had to use towels to mop floor because sink leaked all over. tub had dirt and grime all over it. including finger nail polish. hair dryer and smoke detector had been ripped out. wire hanging from ceiling where smoke alarm should have been. bugs hanging on walls in cobwebs. sheets looked like they had been used on one bed other one was full of burn holes. people in cars in parking lot like they had someone in making drug deals and they were waiting on them. was scared to leave anything in room. door going outside had no lock on it. nothing to close. so it was open to anyone all the time. floor was so filth that when i washed my feet in the am i am sure they had to throw the towel away. i would post pics but i don't know how to. but i do have them.

I am very disappointed in this experience. We arrived late & our reservation was cancelled (audits/time frame). We needed a room anyway. These pictures are what was given to us. Terrible safety measures on the window & door, carpet was ripped, bathroom ceiling was leaking, NO SMOKE DETECTOR, hole in bathtub. What in the actual hell is going on here? In the morning, I showed the manager that she was apologetic, and she agreed that this room should never have been rented. She said I could be refunded. I hope that is fulfilled. I never brought my things in from my car.

The property should be torn down! It is past repair. Smells of unsafe air, broken and missing window screens. Taped up broken windows. Not all electrical in working condition. Comforters had lots of stains on them. All around very disgusting and dirty. I walked in and walked back out!

I booked a room here thru hotels.com. I reserved a room with a king bed-I got a room with two double beds. The beds were awful! I haven’t seen actual beds with springs in I can’t remember! Not only that, but super loud squeaky springs (every time you roll over!). First thing I saw was smoke detector hanging off the ceiling and no switch plate cover on a light switch, right next to the door, that appears to do nothing. No hair dryer in the holder in the bathroom, only towels for the shower were hand towels (when we went to the front desk the girl actually followed my husband back to the room wanting to “see” that we only had hand towels-then she took those back!?!). Only way to turn on TV was on a power strip on the floor. Oh… here’s a biggie… no elevator… hotel has 3 floors.

This hotel was so horrible, the worst place I’ve ever stayed. The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed, completely stained and I almost stepped on a large industrial type staple. There was rotten smelly food in the frig, stains on our one bath towel (we had to ask for another one because there were two of us), no garbage can, broken curtain rod, dirt and stains inside the drawers of the night stand and dresser. The hotel was very loud - people yelling and hanging out in the hallway until about 10:30pm and again at 6:30. One positive-we didn’t see any bedbugs.

You definitely get less then what you pay for. It was filthy. I had to go up front to ask them to change the sheets and pillows they were stained and nasty. I reserved a smoke free room it was not. The entire building smelled. I wanted to leave and go somewhere else and just loose out on the money but my husband refused. The TV didn't work we had to have the clerk come and fix it and she did not she said she'd have to send someone else and no one ever came. With the power of Google I reprogrammed the TV myself. The side of the bed was covered in cigarette ash. The bathroom vent had a car air freshener clipped to it. The amount of unsavory people in and around the building was very much noticeable and in your face. And if your booking to use the washer good luck with that it was constantly in use by the people who reside there. The people above us must've owned a full size elephant with the amount of stomping and banging going around. All around horrible experience don't recommend it at all. The only thing positive I can say is it didn't have bed bugs but you still won't wanna lay down on that bed without a tarp.

The property was absolutely disgusting. It smelled horrible, the rooms were extremely dirty and smelly. I checked into one, I immediately returned to the front desk. They showed me 4 other rooms and they were the same. It appeared that the hotel caters to crack addicts or worst. A few of them wondered in the hallways. Extremely unsafe both because of the drug addicts but also in terms of the cleanliness. It is extremely filthy and smelly

The property was disgusting There were stains on the carpeting. It stunk. There were cigarette burn holes on the sheets and comforter. It looked like a 3-year-old painted the walls. There was hair in the bathroom. The toilet seat was broken. The people at the checkout just sitting around in the lobby and didn't even acknowledge us when we initially walked in. The screen to the window was just sitting in the room. The tub was just caked in dirt. There was mold and mildew around the edge of the tub. There was a candy wrapper under the bed. They have the tiniest towels and there were just too small hand towels at too small bath towels that look like hand towels. No wash clothes. I wouldn't let my dog stay there

Everywhere we went, there was the smell of cigarettes - in the hallway, even inside the room. Despite booking a non-smoking room, the one we checked into was reeking of smoke. To make matters worse, we woke up covered in bug bite marks after just one night. We had to check out early and hastily find another hotel. It was a truly dreadful experience.

This motel was rated well enough and was across the street from the motel where I had stayed last year. That motel had greatly increased its price since then and was about half again as much as the Super 8. The problems I encountered were that the sink was nearly clogged and took a while to drain and the tub stopper didn't work. The clientel had much to be desired when at 2:45am, several teens were yelling down my hallway until a man came out of his room and yelled at them. Then the police were called to handle a loud domestic dispute outside of my window. A police car was still parked next to mine when I left at 7:30 am. I'll go ahead and pay the extra money to stay somewhere I feel safer when traveling alone. You get what you pay for with this one.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The bed sank in very badly in the middle and you can feel the springs. This bed should be in a dumpster not in a hotel where people stay. I will never stay here again and I advise anyone who reads these reviews not to either.

We had what I will call a basement room. It was very musty smelling and overall gross. Cigarette burns all over the bedspreads that had questionably not been washed, and burns all over the carpet. There were unidentifiable stains on the bedspread, and I found toenail clippings by the wall. The window was oddly on level with the outside sidewalk, and it would not lock, so we secured it with a hiking pole. We slept a while and booked it out of there. On a positive note: no bed bugs were seen (and I checked well because that would have been a dealbreaker for us), our car wasn’t broken into, and we left alive.

When I walked in my room there was a chair in the way and I almost fell. Then when I went to lay on the bed it was sunk in the middle so bad I had to put pillows in it just to try to get comfortable and the springs were also poking me. There was no phone for me call front desk, and I am handicap and could not walk that long hallway and stairs again I was to tired. When I left in the morning I told man at the front desk and all he said was it will be better next time, and I told him there WONT BE A NEXT TIME.

Dirty bad experience bad service they treat us like a criminal or something they went and knocked in our room at 9 am and checked out it’s at 11 am I told the guy in front desk that we was staying one more night even though it was dirty but we was tired of long trip and we just wanted to rest and the guy in front desk ask for me to come downstairs with him to pay another day I told him I will as soonest I put my shoes and clothes he told me no if I want to stay one more night I have to pay now and that he will wait for me outside my room until I get my clothes and shoes I told him I was feeling uncomfortable with him outside my room that he can charge me on my card I have used that he don’t need me to go downstairs right now it’s not even check out time he told me he is going to call the cops than the cops showed up he made me feel uncomfortable we came to Topeka for my dad funeral and he treat us like a criminal so when the cops left and I pay another night one of the house cleaning guy knocked on my door and ask to talk to me than ask me if I was willing to help him out with something he needs help with I was confused and I ask what it was he ask me if I can meet him in one of the rooms I feel scare and did not feel comfortable than I close the door on him and told my husband we left from there asap bad experience will not recommend

When I arrived to check in I noticed that the grounds needed to be kept up better. I felt that perhaps I hadn't selected the safest place to stay. There was no one in the office to check me in. There was a bell to ring, which I rang several times with no response. Someone who I'm assuming is a long-term guest told me that they were probably working somewhere in the motel. So I has to go look for a staff member to check me in. The room was not quite what I was expecting. In other Super 8s I've stayed with there was a coffee pot and some coffee packets. There were neither her. There also no cups to get a drink with. I noticed that one of the pop machines in the lobby was out of order. There was no ice bucket in the room for someone to get ice for drinks. I didn't see an inc maker either. A free breakfast was advertised. The room for breakfast was messy. Empty cereal boxes were piled on a table. No one had been in the clean up the room either. I poured a cup of coffee, which was lukewarm at best. Finally, I woke up with several insect bites. I did not see bed bugs. I have no idea what bit me, but something sure did. I would not recommend this Super 8 and if I have to stay overnight in Topeka again I will stay elsewhere.

we tried checking in and the desk clerk said she had no reservations for us so i. called hotels they. called the hotel and tried to line it out and the hotel over booked and sold our room to someone else from the desk clerks own mouth and we had to get our money back and go elsewhere don’t ever stay here it’s nasty

I am very disappointed in this experience. We arrived late & our reservation was cancelled (audits/time frame). We needed a room anyway. These pictures are what was given to us. Terrible safety measures on the window & door, carpet was ripped, bathroom ceiling was leaking, NO SMOKE DETECTOR, hole in bathtub. What in the actual hell is going on here? In the morning, I showed the manager that she was apologetic, and she agreed that this room should never have been rented. She said I could be refunded. I hope that is fulfilled. I never brought my things in from my car.

I was able to book the room, when I got to the room is when I found out that “NO ROOMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE NIGHT” happened when I got there. And then you have to wait up to 72 hours to get your money back. I had kids with me.

This hotel is very convenient, right off of I-70. The staff is courteous and helpful. The room had a fridge and microwave. The carpet was very dirty and stained and the entire place needs ipdated. The breakfast was extremely limited and horrible!

The property was absolutely disgusting. It smelled horrible, the rooms were extremely dirty and smelly. I checked into one, I immediately returned to the front desk. They showed me 4 other rooms and they were the same. It appeared that the hotel caters to crack addicts or worst. A few of them wondered in the hallways. Extremely unsafe both because of the drug addicts but also in terms of the cleanliness. It is extremely filthy and smelly

This was probably the most unsafe, filthy Super 8 I have ever stayed at. As a medical traveler I always look for a Super 8. Great Rates, Nice Establishment & Friendly Personnel. This one was a Nickle & Dime Drug Drop & basicly a "No Tell Motel" I tried to cancel my room after I paid for it and ended letting them keep the money and headed to the Country Inn Suites across the street.

It was horrible. The rooms smelled horrible, they weren't clean and I could barely bring myself to use the bathroom. Hotels.com should be vetting the hotels you recommend, especially since we are not from around Topeka. The neighborhood was sketchy and overall I am very upset and will not be using Hotels.com in the future.

Filthy...carpet stained, towels so bad we didn't shower, bathroom floor sticky, fridge broken, no soap or shampoo, fire alarm hanging from ceiling, walls stained, ceiling showed bad patches, not completely painted, faucet sprayed so water ran over counter No real breakfast, no coffee,just 2 half bottles of juice seen in mini fridge and 2 choices of dry cereal - said milk was thrown out, no bowls or spoons since they really don't expect anyone to eat since they don't provide anything,

Staff very friendly. Room had problems. Dead bolt busted, refrigerator not working. Breakfast was terrible. Out of juice, waffle machine broken, only cold cereal, while we were eating some the milk ran out and no one replaced it.

Bathroom needs some work, basically nothing for breakfast, no waffle batter, a partial loaf of bread left out but no butter or jelly, juice machine not working or not filled, just a little milk left for cereal, kitchen very poorly stocked. Bed was terrible, mattress should be thrown out. Toilet off the breakfast area plugged, nasty, water on floor, no tp…. Ice machine worked tho!!!! Locks on doors broken.

Went to Topeka and stayed here due to availability at other locations. They did not have enough towels for each room, we were allowed 1 towel and 1 wash cloth for 2 days and there were 3 of us in this room. Our non smoking room had ashes all over the floor next the bed, the tan blanket under the comforter was nasty. The breakfast the tell you they offer consists of an out of order juice machine and bagels. Will never stay again.

The receptionist had to go get new batteries. after a couple of hours the room smelled old and stale, like old cigarette smoke not cleaned out. It was a non smoking room so I had to assume it was never cleaned out properly from before. the breakfast was very minimal, the waffle iron was not on. the juice machine did not work. one gallon jug of juice and one of milk sat on the counter. One of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in!!!
