Quality Inn I-70 at Wanamaker

Only booked this motel for the hot tub but it was out of order for a while. Should have been mentioned during booking

horrible, most disgusting pool and hot tub

I specifically called and asked if pool and hot tub were in working order. I was told yes. Got there and neither were working. Found out they have been down for a long time so I was lied to on the phone. It was late and we had our two young grandchildren with us. The sole reason for the trip was to spend the weekend and swim. So we got our room on the 3rd floor. Went to run a bath for kids and there was hair on the drain. So I scrubbed the tub out. Waited 20 minutes for hot water and finally gave up on that. 7:45 Sunday morning we go down to eat and all that's there is waffle stuff and cereal. Everything else was gone. They serve breakfast until 9. Other than the nice desk clerk when we checked in I don't have a good thing to say about the place. I contacted Expedia that evening and they were of no help at all.

The stay was ok. We had children with us; therefore they were bummed out when the pool was out of service. Was told that we could use the hot tub though, but when we got there, the jets weren’t working.

The property was difficult to get into due to road construction, this was not the motels fault. The pool and hot tub looked like they needed repainted. The overall maintenance of the property could have been better. There was not a lot of choices for breakfast.

Very friendly late night staff; room was clean and ready for us. A bit disappointed pool was closed for refurbishment.

Hot tub.

From the urine we founds on the the toilet seat, to the odor in the room, to the lack of breakfast, to no hot tub and the ice cold pool, this hotel was a terrible disappointment. It is not what is advertised, or what is shown in the pictures.

Non smoking facility but took three rooms to get least smelled room

Smelled like cigs and BO, old and dirty,

Carpet had holes in it, the shower did not work, everything was filthy in the bathroom, it looked like a child did the caulking and the shower curtain rod was falling off the wall.. they did discount the room but would not recommend

We had 3 rooms w/ 2 queens each. The hotel was nearly full, and it appeared that only one poor staff member was responsible for it all. All rooms smelled musty and smoked in. The lamp shades were cracked and broken, and one was missing a bulb. In one tub, the faucet would pull away from the tile, and there were loose bathroom tiles. The carpets were dirty and torn, and at least one mattress had staining. Lastly, there was dog poop in one of the stairwells. If this hotel is rated 7.2, I’d hate to see the 5.8 hotel that we passed up.

Expedia service was fine. Checkin was fine. Staff was fine. Property itself was run down and in need of maintenance. Room was comfy, but not very clean. Hair in the tub, fuzz in the drain, and what appeared to be black mold that came out with the ice from the ice machine.

Nothing to like. Uniquely the dirtiest place we've ever stayed in. Very ghetto. Candice and the manager did try. But overall terrible. I would have added photos but it's funny how the website won't allow it.

Nice staff at both check-in and check-out. Some concerns in our room and throughout the hotel… Our smoke detector was not connected, sitting below the television, and battery was dead. They are supposed to be hard wired, so if 1 goes off they all go off. Vending machine not working, ice machine not working. Carpet dirty throughout the building. The hotel needs some updating. It smells dirty in the hallways, room was better. Fire extinguisher in the hallway is not current. I always like to say something positive, so I will add: bath towels were nice and fluffy.

Parking was convenient, suite/room was spacious, front desk attendant was excellent! Each suite in the hotel had something different wrong with it that needed fixed so had to choose lesser of concerns.

Beds comfortable but property needs updating badly

Nice room, good location, friendly staff, I had a little problem with the remote/television, (couldn’t change volume or turn television off), front desk said that every room was booked, so no way to switch television/remote with another room. No other problems,

I absolutely loved our room! It was spacious and very nice. We have a huge family so it really fit our needs so that everyone was confortable.

Let me start with the staff was friendly, the hotel is outdated, the hot tub has a ring around it and was like warm. The Air conditioner would not cool the room down.

Advertisement states "rooms are sound proof" they are NOT sound proof. I didn\'t sleep at all during my stay there because the floors/walls were so thing and Not sound proof enough that I could hear both sides of a zoom call from one room. Another room the people were arguing, and in another someone was singing in the shower. Bed was horrible. One side felt like sleeping on concrete (which actually probably would have been more comfortable) and the other there was no support at all. As for the stated "breakfast" that was offered. It was coffee and an apple. And the coffee was basically just luke warm water with barely any coffee in it. Will definitely not stay in a quality inn again and especially not this one.

* The room had a musty/moldy smell * The light switch for the bathroom was behind the hinges of the door that opened into the room (meaning to turn on the bathroom light the door to the bathroom had to be closed (or partially open) and then had to walk around the door to go in the bathroom * The door connecting to the adjacent room was so thin I could hear, and understand most of, the conversation of the couple staying there (and I have a hearing loss in one ear)

The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The heater was quieter than most hotel rooms.

Definitely has aged gracefully, but not run down by any stretch of the imagination. Very welcoming staff.

The host was great, she was patient and helpful. The $50 fee at checkin was not shared on the app, at checkout you get it back but it is still not mentioned in the app.

Employees are not trained well enough!! Had some mistakes when I first walked in…. Everything was sorted out and the stay was great

THEY "SERVICE CHARGE" 50 DOLLARS EXTRA!!! IF YOU PAY WITH DEBIT OR CREDIT ITS 50 DOLLARS. PAY WITH CASH? YOU'RE SOL BECAUSE THEY CHARGE 150 DOLLARS!!! NOT EVEN WORTH IT!!! Some windows on ground level had screens broken and bent, looking like someone was trying to break into the rooms. My room had the screen totally broken off and hanging. No window locks. Toilet had sound of running water the whole time we was there. Sound of fast rushing water was sounding throughout the hotel. Smelled like chlorine and mildew at the same time. Lady that checked us in was rude and unfriendly. Additional charge wasn't worth the price of staying there. It definitely felt unsafe, worse than a cheap motel.

Staff was excellent and caring

The staff were friendly and inviting g. The room was comfortable. The low cost was great!

The inn was clean, the staff from the get-go was pleasant and accommodating. The person who greeted me was patient and kind; the breakfast preparer was delightful and very helpful. As we departed, the staff members was kind wishing us a safe trip. I was so pleased for the inn, I looked for another Quality Inn for the next night.

I checked in about 2 am with a reservation. Clerk (no name tag, red hair, abundant tattoos and piercings) gave me 2 key cards for a 3rd floor room, but when I got there, neither of them worked. So back to the front desk, was handed 2 keys to a different room (no apology) and then neither key worked for the second room. Clerk grudgingly came and verified they didn't work, told me some of the locks don't work and new ones had been ordered, as if that solved the problem. When I observed that I still didn't have a room to sleep in, clerk took me to one at the end of the hall that did open, with extra fans running inside and a strong cleaning solution smell. When I hesitated, clerk rudely threatened, "I could just check you out right now," making my only other choice to leave the hotel I'd already paid for and look for something else in the middle of the night. So I stayed in the room, which had not been vacuumed and had crumbling plaster behind the not-so-clean toilet, and had a headache for several days after from the smell in the room. The clerk was apparently too busy with their craft project (something involving pliers and wire) to simply make a list of the rooms with locks that don't work. It's ridiculous to send a guest to find out, and double ridiculous to do it TWICE. There are other mediocre hotels in this area of Topeka--you can definitely find one better managed than this one, which doesn't even know which rooms it can unlock.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Great experience. Room was clean and well taken care of.

check-in was very quick and friendly, everything is in the neighborhood, like restaurants, gas stations and shops.

It was in a convenient location. Had parking for my big rig.

Good overall place to stay, True semi parking

The bed was comfortable. The hot water and shower was great. This property was fine for a one stay. However there is an abandoned hotel next door to which a fire broke out.

It was okay and noisy part of Topeka. Don't like their policy on pay cash it was $150 deposit for cash! Beds were okay.

The handicap parking was too tight.I had to stay an extra three hours just so someone could move their car and I could get in my vehicle

We were actually surprised because the price was right, that this place was as nice as it is. It’s in a decent location, and the rooms were very clean! Slightly outdated, there was some rust in the bathroom but it obviously didn’t affect our stay. I would stay here again for sure. Ohh and I left my iPhone charger in the room, but they had it when I came back for it a few hours later so shout-out to housekeeping.

Our first time in Topeka. Good location although pretty noisy with the highway and the car alarm that wouldn't stop. Hotel breakfast was ok. Bagel.

All was good but in the morning had to ask the desk to put out coffee (7:00am) had to ask for new waffle mix as it was too thick. She then put out more egg patties I felt like I was imposing on her time then she was gone and a new person took over.

This hotel needs lots of tlc everything inside the room was bad the bathroom door didn’t close properly the sink was all crack up the rugs were extremely dirty the bathtub had black mold the bathtub floor was dirty the beds were terrible the check in was very good supper nice lady in the check in and also in the check out the free continental breakfast was not bad I will never stop here again unless they fix the hotel the location was really good with restaurants and coffe shops near

This hotel is a favorite of me and my kids staycations. I enjoy the affordability and the kids enjoy the pool the most. They could have given us a cleaner room last stay. Our room smelled musty and there was an oily handprint on the wall above a headboard which was gross. The worker offered to move us but we had already settled in and didnt want to move everything. Breakfast is basic but good! Will continue to stay here.

Upon checking in, wanted to charge us $3 for no reason. The posting said front desk personnel can not change this, it’s from management. Toilet didn’t flush very well. Bath tub spicket was pulled away from the wall and the breakfast was HORRIBLE! Would never stay again

Could be a challenge getting into property, accommodations ok, they had issues with having any selections for breakfast.

This was horrible! We checked in and were told they were at capacity and the only room they had left was one that the people that checked out that morning had smoked in. Also a couple of guys that seemed like regulars or just hanging out with the clerk and were super creepy at the front desk being super loud. We couldn't hardly hear the clerk while we were trying to check in and made us very uncomfortable. We were on our way home for my mother's funeral and all of our clothes in our luggage smelled like smoke and we had to go to the funeral smelling like stale smoke. We were stuffed up all night so made it hard to sleep. Also made it hard to sleep that people were yelling in the parking lot at 3am and someone was running up and down the hallway upset. The elevator was nasty had stuff spilled in it that was dried up. There were what looked like abandoned cars in the parking lot, just trashy. We went down for breakfast the next morning and there was nothing there but waffles with no syrup and 2 biscuits for biscuits and gravy to feed the 3 of us. There was no fruit, yogurt, or anything else that you would normally see in a Quaily Inn contential breakfast. DO NOT STAY HERE!
