They now charge $5 per day in an open lot. The hotel is in back of a shopping area. This was odd. Also, only maid service after 3 days? Weird. Otherwise, nice staff and the room was fine.

This was easily drivable from Salem. About an 18 minute drive from down town. The pool was nicely kept. In a shopping complex with Marshall’s, Nordstrom rack, and Target. The breakfast was overpriced and the rooms were clean.

Personal service/ staff interaction was outstanding.Extra blanket request was handled graciously and immediately. Continental breakfast was pricey but acceptable. 2 issues with facility. Parking lot side entry door lock broken, no key needed for entry to building w/access to all floors and areas. Second issue, pool not open in July with temps in the 90's. "Not ready". Pool access lock also broken so no key needed to go out or in. Assuming fixes in the works, though no action taken during our short stay.

Pluses were the location, nice landscaping and building style, size, cleanliness, microwave and small frig, and bed comfort. Negatives were pay parking (unusual for a place not in downtown and with plenty of parking available), pay breakfast for few choices and no lunch/dinner options in hotel, and no indoor pool. Also, with all the entrances from the parking lot, there was only one elevator for three large stories. All in all, though, we would consider staying there again.

Stayed for 3 nights with a dog. There was adequate greens and pet waste disposal areas around the hotel. The staff and house keeping staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms/ property were clean. I felt like it was quiet I slept for 3 nights with no interruptions. Everything was above and beyond except the actual beds. If you like soft, soft mattresses you’ll be fine. My back really hurts but the review still deserves 5 stars because of everything that I mentioned above.

Upon checking into the room we found two dirty nasty used washcloths hanging in the shower that was obviously not cleaned prior to our arrival. There was no drinking water offered in the room either. Even motels offer complementary water nowadays, one would expect it from a $200/night hotel. The beds were comfortable, but all night long people kept slamming doors in the hallway and the doors are very loud. Plus, somebody was staying with a loud child and the noise travels in this hotel. It could use some soundproofing.

Our experience at the hotel was very disappointing and unsatisfactory. Aside from the staff, we cannot find anything positive to say about our stay. Upon entering the room, there was an unpleasant combination of odors including vomit and mildew. There were obvious signs of neglect regarding housekeeping as we found clumps of hair on the floor, mold on the shower curtain, and dead insects. There were also multiple indicators of lazy attempts to repair wear and tear to the furniture and room it’s led. The TV did not function properly and it’s seemed that the hotel had not conducted any major renovations or upkeep in many years. Finally the hotels location is misleading. Based on photos my wife and I thought we were staying at a hotel in more secluded and quieter part of Danvers. We were very shocked to find that hotel is located behind a busy shopping center. Overall we would not be staying at this hotel for future visits to Salem.

Pro: The gal at check in was extremely friendly and polite. Cons: The room smelled musty as soon as we walked in the door. The bed sheets had stains on them. The shower rod holding the showr curtain had been ripped out of the wall several times and it appeared as though several 'repairs' were attempted at fixing it, however, there were holes in the wall and tile that were open to the area behind the shower. The soap dispenser holder has not been cleaned since the beginning of time as there was black mold on the holder underneath all 3 dispenser containers. There was a giant cobweb and dead spider in the corner of the bathroom. I know this could have happened at any time after a 'cleaning' of the room however, considering all, one could assume this room had not been properly cleaned in times past. The workout room has not been cleaned as there was loose change and what appeared to be a giant ball of wax in one of the treadmill cup holders. I cleaned the machine before and after working out and the lysol wipe turned black from dirt after the 2 cleanings. Please do yourself a favor and do not stay here. It is not worth the money we paid!!!

Room was not cleaned well. We found empty pringle containers next to the chair in the room as well as an empty water bottle under bed and ALOT of crumbs. Showing me they never vacuumed. Shower looked really stained up as well. Surrounding area is so convienent with many stores but wouldnt stay here again.

The staff was really nice. Check in and out was smooth. I was here for two nights and each morning I was awoken by 6:30-7am and it was too loud to go back to sleep. The bed was comfy but I didn't get to sleep long. Besides the noise it was a good stay for the price and location.

It was generally clean but there were a few issues. There were several stains on the floor. A few items in the bathroom were old and ready for refresh. The TV was likely from the 90s and made it difficult to watch a hockey game because the quality was so poor. For a hotel at the price point I paid, it should be better than this

Very great location if you want to avoid price gouging in Salem, but still be in a drivable distance. The hotel itself is a nice, older building with charm. Our front door was very stiff and got stuck almost every time, leaving us to shoulder bash it to open. Otherwise, a great spot!

For a room that costs $257 a night, in a King-size room with a tiny bathroom and no breakfast included, we're a little disappointed. The convenience of stores in this location is all that they can brag about. They should consider putting in a carport while you're trying to unload/load your car and not get drenched. The handicap push buttons are broken at the exit doors and are extremely hard to push open.

Hotel allows barking dogs to be left alone in room to awaken guest early in the morning. Complaint to front desk was ignored and barking dog again awakened me next morning. Hotel does not care if customer is able to sleep in their room. In addition, hotel begins hall vacuum at approximately 8AM further ruining the ability to sleep anywhere near the defined departure time of 11am. To repeat, hotel does not seem to care about guest ability to sleep during their stay.

When we requested bedding be changed I was told it was every 7 days. Their expedia page clearly says when requested. Evening manager was beyond rude. When we arrived early and asked for early check in clerk said "how could you check in early, when check out is 11:00?" with unbelievable attitude. The hotel sent me an email stating if I wanted early check in to request at front desk... NEVER AGAIN SONESTA!

It’s convenient to Salem. The rooms are okay and clean. They don’t do housekeeping unless you stay for 7 days and there is only one waste basket in the ENTIRE room (in the bathroom). There aren’t any trash receptacles at the entrance, in the lobby, or at the front desk. You have to go into the dining area to find one which is inconvenient. There was a large group of drunk people who made noise on the second floor by the elevators for nearly an hour and even blasted music from a room. I tried to call the front desk but our in-room phone didn’t work. Then I called using my cell (at 2 am) and no one answered after 20 rings. I waited five minutes, called back and finally someone answered and the problem was mostly taken care of but the group still intermittently yelled and slammed their room doors for the next 15 minutes. This definitely was not a good experience overall but we were there only two nights and it served our purpose of being close to Salem.

I waited 20 minutes to check in. Left to be blue to get dinner before everywhere closed. Came back and it was a lot faster, but definitely frustrating at the beginning. Hoping things only go up from here!

Took a small trip with my grandkids.During the night, the air-conditioning kept changing from hot and cold. I let the front desk know in the morning. I spoke with Tarnasia. She said that she could not help me with a refund.Because I had rented through a third party. She told me to contact expedia and when they contacted her she would grant a refund. I let hotels.com know. They contacted the hotel and the same person lied about everything that she told me. She said that there was no issue and that she never said anything about a refund. How do employees get away with lying on customers? I will record all conversations from now on. So upsetting and frustrating to report to the correct person that should be able to help you. It was such a nice place. The rooms were tiny but the pool was beautiful. Such a shame to treat your customers like this.

Clean hotel, with spacious rooms and easy parking. We stayed here as an affordable pet friendly option when visiting Salem. Very short drive to Salem and about half hour drive from Boston. There isn't much within walking distance around the hotel but there is a mall and some chain restaurants within a short drive.
