We picked the Holiday Inn Express for a few reasons, but we knew we would have some down time and wanted to relax by the pool. When we got there and inquired about the pool, we were that the manager had left for another location and that the pool was not open. Then when I paid for the room, the price I was told or charged was $100.00 more then I was given by Expedia. The person at the front said that they charge that for incidentals and if there were no issues with the room that I would be refunded in about 14 days... UNEXCEPTABLE!

When we checked in they placed us in a room that was not cleaned well. It smelled terribly like body odor. There was crap all over the carpet. Smears all over the mirrors from an animal or child. The treadmill in the workout area is broke. The outdoor card reader to get in side doors is broke. The main areas look like the floors haven't been mopped in over a month. This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in especially for the total price of around 250 for the night!

This property was renovated a few years ago, but looks like management didn’t care about keeping the property looking neat and clean. The lobby floor had papers scattered about. The elevator floor was dirty too. However, our room was clean and well maintained.

Stay at this hotel last summer and it was great. This year was totally different, first room was not cleaned properly. Night stand was full of chicken crumbs and gease stains, bathroom shower and toilet had hair everywhere. I complained and was giving another room, well the second was no better. The amount i paid for the weekend i was not expecting to see someone else's hair in the shower and on the toilet. Poor house keeping and management need to inspect rooms after house keeping.

I did like this hotel for the price. It’s about an hour from ocean city and it was a lot better than paying $700 for one closer to the beach. There’s a lot of food and shopping centers within a couple miles so there is that! The staff was very nice but my only thing was the bed sheets. We did not see any bed bugs but my boyfriend’s side did have stains under the first layer. Other than that not a bad stay it was really nice

The room was immaculate, and the location was pet-free—with the exception of one guest's small Chihuahua, which they apparently claimed was a service animal."

The room smelled like mildew. It was as if linens were washed and not dried properly before bringing them back into the room. There was some dampness on the bed as I laid down. Also the outlet in the bathroom didn’t work either so I couldn’t shave. Other than the overall smell of the room and not having an effective electric socket in the bathroom, my stay was ok

The staff member when we arrived was very friendly. The room was ok. The boxspring cover had some stains on it and the shower floor was not very clean looking. For some reason the shower floor also had a lot of give like there was not anything solid underneath it.

The side door was broken so anyone could enter the building, even without a key. The rooms were big but old and run down. Not worth what they charge per night.

Holiday Inn Express Delmar MD was right on our route, easy on/off. This location was very convenient, safe and attractive. We were welcomed by James at the check-in desk who knew us right away after telling him our name. He was friendly, warm, very helpful and kind. James shared tips for kcal restaurants and couldn’t have been nicer. I am happy to say our room was very clean, VERY comfortable bed and pillows. We’re looking forward to a relaxing free breakfast tomorrow morning.

The property wasn’t bad but, when customer service sucks it makes the visit not good. The young lady who checked me in was pleasant. We walked into our room and felt an immediate heat wave. So the front desk clerk on the night shift and the older clerk who came in that following morning stated that since we booked through a 3rd party (Expedia) we could not get our room changed. The older front desk clerk was nonchalant about it as if we were bothering her. I just hope they do better with future customers and properly fixing malfunctions.

Check in was a horror. Front desk agent was kicked back in a deep sleep. We had to get very loud to wake him up. It took about 15 minutes to get our room key, after explaining to him we had a reservation. And that I was not the person on the paperwork that was handed to me. Later on after returning from dinner that same person was totally knocked out again behind the desk. DRUGS???

The money is not worth what they offer AT ALL!! And be prepared for a $100 incidental hold on your card that takes days to come back to you. Breakfast was mediocre as well. Never coming back. Very nice staff tho. I will say that.
