Best Western La Plata Inn

Check-in was easy and helpful. The property also had washers and dryers available for use, which was helpful on an extended trip (you have to bring your own change, though). Bed was a bit firm with small pillows, but still cozy after a long day of exploring. Bathroom was clean with good water pressure and hot water. I left a room service request sign on the outside of my door each day, but the staff only made up the bed once while we were out. They did exchange the old towels for fresh ones. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

There is no ramp @ the entrance to roll luggage in and out of the building. Although everything was clean, it seemed old

The room was fine. Staff was great . Parking lot was big enough for all the cars n trucks Breakfast was very good. The only bad thing was the washer on 1st floor was oos. On my 1st n 2nd stay.

This hotel is a bit run down, laundry room was out of service, front desk was an hard 3 star on helpfulness. Breakfast was ok.

Absolutely love the La Plata Best Western! Amazing staff from housekeeping, front desk, maintenance, to kitchen/breakfast staff as well. They are all so sweet, professional, kind, patient, & accommodating. Great parking (front & back) & is never an issue. The rooms were clean upon arrival/check-in & housekeeping does a great job at freshening up the rooms,

Very clean, very good breakfast offering (as these free breakfasts go). Lots of good restaurant options near by. Parking lot was well lit. I had the misfortune of staying there while several car enthusiasts were also booked, made for a lot of loud noise at 6 a.m.

Great overall! I’ve only ever had one unpleasant interaction with an older gentleman that works night shift (think his name is Yasmin, wears glasses & hat) really rude, but I don’t really care bc everyone else is always great & extremely friendly & accommodating especially the tall guy that’s always working the front desk, & the girl that works night shift! So sweet & patient, always makes sure I have great service!

I would have liked the breakfast to be available a little later than 9am. They need new mattresses. They are worn and uncomfortable and the housekeeping could be a bit better. There was a bottle cap under the bathroom sink, something slippery all over the bathroom floor and hair in the sink and tub. I had to put towels down on the floor so I didn’t walk on whatever it was on the floor.

Parking area was safe. Someone was smoking marijuana right outside my window and it came through my ac all night long. That was very unpleasant and kept waking me up. The bathtub was not clean seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while and there was hair and soap on the soap ledge

The room was dirty, especially the bathroom. We found dirt on the floors as if it wasn't swept and mopped, we also found marks and spots on the towels which lead us to believe they were not changed and cleaned properly. Therefore, we couldn't use them and had to use our personal towels from home. The uncleanliness made us feel uncomfortable sleeping in the bed for fear that the sheets were not clean. The carpet also needs to be shampooed bad! even the refrigerator needed to be cleaned, it was sticky inside.

This could be a lovely place. However, the overwhelming smoking odor, most especially in our first floor room, is a serious setback. I would pulling up all carprting.carpetcg.pis

Not clean at all. Water dripping from bathroom sink ruined a bag and everything in it. Not sure if it was poop or dirt smeared on bathroom walls. Bathroom floor not clean. Didn’t look like clean sheets on bed

The property is very dated. The tub and shower needed cleaning. The toilet had stains in the bowl. The lobby and hallways reeked of marijuana. The one good and most important thing is that the sheets were clean.

When I arrived at the hotel around 6 pm to check-in. I was in room 103, the room had dead bugs on the floor in the entrance and by the ac unit. The bathroom tub and toilet dis not look clean at all. The tub had rings and rust to make you feel very uncomfortable and tve toilet in the inside also had rings around it. They need to remodel the bathroom tremendously. Willbbe the first and last stay if I come in town.

Comfortable bed! Hotel was nice & quiet. Only drawback it had a noisy air conditioner. TV didn’t work.

We stayed during the week - VERY Quiet! Bed and pillows were very comfortable . We were in a suite had a nice lil kitchen setup , what I really liked was the cold refrigerator - it’s a must. This will be our goto in the area . Very nice staff

Definitely needs some updates. Ac units were terrible loud noise banging all night they saud maintenance man would look at it but nobody did anything.

While this hotel close to what we needed, it was very noisy - not well insulated/thin walls? And the room could have used a good cleaning. No hooks or bars in bathroom to hang clothes/used towels.

Comfortable stay with no issues.

Our bedroom had ripped bedskirts and three 1/2 pillows. Some of the towels looked dirty. The doors don’t go to the floor and you could hear maintenance working on the vending machine at 11:30. There was buckled flooring and cracked tiles in our bathroom.

The hotel was clean, but a little outdated. The sofa bed had a missing spring and was a little lumpy.

Older hotel that needs updating but for the price it will work for one night. I paid $110 and def not worth too much more.

This stay was much better than the last, but still no maid service till the day I left. When checking in receptionist had the personality of a rock. Was more interested of her long nails. Rest of the staff was great and helpful even though most could not seem to speak English. Room (Rm 103 ) was very clean and bed very comfortable. Refrigerator, even though set to max, was more of a cooler, but that was only if you put a bag of ice in it. Clock radio was just an ornament piece, as it didn't work at all. There also were no charging ports anywhere in the room for cell or laptop. Had to rely on my truck. Bright spot was breakfast was excellent each day and was kept well supplied by the young lady. All in all, was a good stay for me for the price.

Upon checking in, I was assigned to Room 124 on the first floor, located to the right after the main entrance. Unfortunately, after a while i noticed that the main door to the room was poorly fitted. Once inside at night, the gap between the door and its frame created a serious concern for privacy. Light from the corridor shone clearly into the room through the openings, and it was possible to see movement outside as well as hear and observe people walking and talking in the hallway. Conversely, it also gave the unsettling impression that individuals passing by could look into the room. Due to this lack of privacy , I ultimately decided to leave the property and secure accommodation at a nearby hotel at approximately 11:30 p.m. that same evening. That said, I must commend the staff member on duty the evening of August 25, 2025. Her professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness stood out remarkably she truly is the heart of the property and the one positive highlight of my experience.

Absolutely lovely housekeeping staff, very sweet & patient morning front desk & service! Wonderful housekeeping, great breakfast, & extremely accommodating. Love how quiet & perfect this Best Western is. Parking is also great. Love coming here! They’ve also always do their absolute best to make sure everything goes well during my stay.

I booked a King Suite. Days before the trip the staff called me and said they’d need to give me a Queen Suite. I said that’s fine. Upon arrival, they gave me the key and my husband & I went in and found it was not a Queen, but a Full. There was no way the two of us would be comfortable. The front desk person argued, saying it was in the computer that it was a Queen. I offered that she come look at the bed and she declined (we have a Queen bed at home so we know full well what the size looks like). She just smiled at us like we were idiots and said she could give us a regular king. After first giving us a room that belonged to someone else and then another issue with a room key… we finally got our room. I asked for a discount, being that we weren’t getting a suite as booked. She only gave me around $30 off for our 4 night stay. If I had booked the same room on Hotels.com, it would’ve been around $200 less. I should’ve asked to speak to a manager but after a long day of traveling, I was tired and ready to give up after all the back and forth with the rooms. Hotels.com gave me a $50 gift certificate. They said they would contact the manager for a price adjustment but I never heard back after calling twice. I’ve never had to complain about a hotel before and I’ll definitely never stay at this one again. The hotel is also in need of a remodel but in light of their customer service issues, that’s probably the least of their worries.

During the morning of checkout the cleaning personal entered the room without even knocking while we were getting ready to leave. The time was 10:45 am and one of the workers (with really poor attitude) told us that we were late and checkout was at 10:00 am. Even though the time on the hotel website as well as at the lobby says 11:00 am. The room we were initially checked into smelled like cigarettes, and the next room given to us wasn't in the best shape. Would not recommend if staying more than one night.

We enjoyed our stay when we were visiting family in the area. The staff has been super friendly. The breakfast attendant was incredibly friendly and helpful. She brightened our early mornings and made sure we had everything we needed. The front desk staff was very helpful and accomodating even fixing a lack of prior planning on our part by accomodating a room change. The rooms are clean and very nice for the price point. We were also provided an extra blanket and additional towels upon request. We will definately be back!

No ac and room smelled bad, spoke to front desk about it and general manager gave me Attitude because of our rooms ac not working

I have never had such a hard time checking in or so much attitude in my life. It took three hours and it was pre paid I had the confirmation number the receipt and itinerary. I had to have Expedia deal with her and she would just pick up the phone rudely and make us wait. It wasted my day and the pool plan. The room is comfortable and I have to go to the area a lot so it’s a shame but I would never stay there with that rude treatment ever.

The staff was very customer first in their attitude. Friendly . Accommodating. Helpful. I felt comfortable there and it was quiet even though located on a very busy highway. It will be my go to hotel on my next trip.

The owners are nice and the room was clean. The area of la plata is pretty sketchy.

We enjoyed our stay! The staff was accommodating and helpful. We are not from an area that has public transportation and it was our first visit to the area as well to go an visit DC. They directed us to the closest metro location in Hunnington.

Was down there with some friends for a car event. Closest hotel to event and was a nice stay with no issues with staff or the room

My stay at the Best Western in La Plata, Md was pretty good overall. I stayed for 2 nights for a wellness retreat I attended at a local park. Since I live about 1 1/2 hours away, it was convenient. Check-in was very easy, and the front desk clerk was nice and friendly. My room was on the first floor not far from an exit door leading to the parking lot which was convenient. The room was a nice size with a king sized bed which was fairly comfortable. However, it had 4 half-sized pillows which I'd never seen before. So, it was hard for me to get comfortable. Also, my window faced the back parking lot, so I had to be careful about keeping my curtains open. There were a lot of nearby restaurants amd shopping which was good. Had many options. The free breakfast was a standard continental with several hot item (eggs, sausage, potatoes), but they had the small, flimsy plasticware which made it difficult to cut and pick up the food. My main complaint is that I didn't realize the 2nd night's rate had gone up $40 dollars. That's probably more my fault, but it affected my overall view of the stay. For that amount, I would expect better pillows! Lol. Overall, a pretty good stay, and I would recommend it if you're not a hotel "snob" and don't need anything too fancy. Just be sure to double-check your rates.

Facility offers free breakfast, but don't put out enough food, and you either have to find out if they have more or you don't know.

I’ve stay here for the past 3 years. The quality of the place is going down hill. Lots of small things wrong with the room. Breakfast area with broken equipment. The juice machine and yogurt machine both out of order. The least they could do is to have prepackaged stuff available. 2 of the 3 days I was there the hot breakfast items were gone. Poor management of the food available for guests. Next year I’ll stay elsewhere.

The room was comfortable, we asked for a quiet area and got it. Staff was very nice and responsive. They fixed our toilet that had a slow flush. It was clean. Breakfast was included with the stay. Nice varierty, just wished they served intil 10:00 instead of 9. Couldn't hear other roims around me, a big plus. I would stay there again.

Overall, very satisfied. Breakfast was substantial and offered a lot of variety (although the coffee was not good.) It would be nice to have water available throughout the day. I don't believe the vending machine offered water.

Good experience but the Continental Breakfast wasn't good at all! Next time have butter for your waffles & bigger plates for the waffles or syrup will spill off plates!
