Tidelands Caribbean Boardwalk Hotel and Suites

Price was good, better than most nearby places. The hotel is right on the boardwalk and within a convenient walk to the pier, arcades, and everything you could need. The parking is packed, but it is free so nothing to add. The hotel has two pools - one on the 5th floor where the gym is also located, and this pool feels like a private pool as there weren't a lot of people using it. The other pool is on the second floor, which also has a bar, but unfortunately it is still closed due to renovations. One thing to add is that my room wasn't ready at my check-in time (4pm), and I needed to wait about an hour to get it ready. Overall, the rooms are clean but nothing fancy. I would definitely recommend this hotel because of the price and amenities.

Everything was great except both pools were dirty my kids even said they were off not filtering at all.

Front desk was great. Hotel looks like it was recently painted. Carpet in hallways looks new. The Hook Up poolside bar was recently updated. Its much a bigger space and the menu options are great. Angie the bartender is fantastic.

The best thing about the Tidelands is the location. It's close to all of the boardwalk, we wrre in the ocean view room with balcony. So many places to eat, a coffeehouse below or cheaper Dunkin Donuts 2 doors down. The staff is also great. Very friendly and helpful. There are two pools, one with a bar with drinks and a snack. Yes its a bit worn and dated, but that's Ocean City in general. This is our second stay and we plan a third for next year.

Good hotel. great location. parking is complicated

We stayed in the king suite.. it was very nice.. it was large and pretty clean.. the location was very convenient We did have a hard time getting towels, garbage, bags and other requests.. the WiFi didn’t work they said they would move us but we didn’t want to pack and unpack again.. the gym equipment was broke and pieces were missing . The staff could definitely be kinder!

Only one elevator for 5 floors. Room are only cleaned on Saturday and Wednesday.

The pools were not clean!! The 5 days never clean

Hotel needs a lot of up keeping. They only have one evaluator so in the morning it’s basically a service elevator for the staff and that’s a huge inconvenience! Pool is always dirty too. Great location and gorgeous view.

This is a nice hotel with a friendly staff and is very conveniently located on the boardwalk. We stayed Sept 10th through Sept 13th and with parking, we sometimes ended up in the overflow parking lot which is about two blocks away, because of some type of motorcycle event going on in the area with hundreds of bikers in the area. Our dislike is that the bathtub/ shower does not have a "grab" bar to prevent a slip and fall.

Our bedroom wasn't very clean. The bathroom doesn't have the exhaust fan and it was stemming on every shower time. We asked for a housekeeper and nobody came. It's not a good hotel to come with your loved ones.

Staff was nice, room was very dirty!!! The floor had about 200 different hairs on it. Stains on the wall, everything dusty and dirty. Especially the floor!!! Bring your cleaning supplies, don't walk around without shoes, wear your flipflops in the shower, bring your own towels and wash cloth. Anyone from the streets can get in the pools, which they did. Parking is a nightmare!! You will be required to park 4 blocks away if you do not get 1 of the 30 parking spots they have at the property. Great location, bar near the pool has great service and great food. Girls at front desk are very nice. Stated 7-6 through 7-8. Will definitely stay somewhere else next time. Dirty hotel Rooms need renovation bad

The Pool bar was excellent. The room smelled of mildew and made my son sick. There were no black out curtains and our room was right at the pool and bar. Couldn't sleep due to the noise and light coming in from the bar. The room was in horrible shape. Mold covered the vents and ceiling. The front desk staff barely spoke english and I was charged numerous charges on top of my expedia booking. I will never stay here again and will never recommend anyone else staying here as well.

Mold in the bathroom, smelled throughout the hotel, towels smelled strongly of bleach. Overall seemed unclean

This property is very old and dirty. The bathroom door did not close or lock and the sliding door to the balcony did not lock. They only clean the rooms twice a week and it shows. The hallways smell of mold and the elevator alarms do not turn off.

We have stayed here before and they changed the check in process. Unless we paid an extra $100 we could not check in before 4pm even if our room was ready. We went at 3:45 to stand in line to check in. 50 minutes later we received our room keys. Only to enter a room that was not ready. We had no towels, no shower curtain, and the beds weren’t made. It was clean but not put together. When we called for towels they took hours to get us what we needed that we used our beach towels for our showers. Our TV didn’t work half the time. The batteries in the remote died. A few days into our trip we asked for clean towels and wash cloths again because when they cleaned the room they didn’t replenish them. The man said he couldn’t give us any because we already had them. I explained we didn’t get any and he wanted all the old ones in return which we didn’t have because they took them. He was disgusted but gave us fresh towels. We had 3 rooms for our group and 1 room had no ac working. They asked for the ac key and there weren’t any left. The soda machine didn’t work and the ice machine was very dirty, moldy, and rusty. The smells in every hallway were putrid. A completely different experience than last and we will not be returning.

The staff at front desk were lovely, the location is perfect for concerts and the ocean view balcony just right. The room was (surface anyway) pretty clean. But so many things are run down, broken, knackered or rusty from the cracked sink faucet handle to the stained couch to the moldy smelling hallways that you wonder when the last time was that anyone did serious maintenance.

Had to ask for towels three times, outlet coming out of the wall, floors were dirty, and the back of the remote was missing. The faucet in the tub was rusting out. I’ve stayed here in years past so it was a disappointment to see how far let go they’ve let it go since it was a nice place to stay in the past. I had to leave early to do my husband being hospitalized and me needing to get back home (he was not apart of this trip) and the lady at the front desk was rude once she realized I was checking out up until she knew the reasoning why (which was none of her business actually). I also knew of 2 other parties leaving early as well that day (strangers may I add) which could’ve been why. Also I was charged a resort fee once I did get checked in after I thought I paid for the room in full, must’ve missed the fine print on that.

Bed had hair in between sheets cabinets were dirty inside. Some sort of dirt or mouse droppings on plates.

I liked the room and how close it was too so many things. Didn’t have hot water, no AC, and nobody came to room everyday to offer new towels or trash bags. When we requested they said they’d be up and then would never come.

Nice big room but it’s starting to show it’s age, especially the bathroom!

Beach view was great. Room was very large and comfortable. Refrigerator and microwave were very handy. Staff was very friendly. Parking onsite was great.

Comfortable bed, hot water, decent amount of space in the suite. Basic amenities, 2 mini-fridges, one of which died, but they were quick to replace. Wifi was pretty much non existent/unusable.

The oceanfront balcony was incredible.

Air conditioner didn't work, only 1 towel for 4 people there were cigarette butts on the balcony

The rooms are in desperate need of a deep cleaning, fresh paint and general maintenance. The sliding glass doors were almost impossible to open due to the build up of dirt in the tracks. The paint was peeling in the bathroom and the sink drained very slowly.

The room was gross! Sink hanging off the wall, our balcony railing was loose and extremely dangerous.

I booked to stay in this property overlooking the ocean but the balcony is too small and the balconies has no wall privacy to other balconies you can exactly see what the other people next to you doing or eating

Loved this hotel…first time here and I can’t say enough about it! We stayed in the suites building: huge room, such a comfortable bed and linens, spa tub, kitchen, close to the pool, etc… The staff was so kind and efficient and the hotel was 1/2 block from the boardwalk and all of the places we love. I’ve stayed at some pretty gross hotels on the boardwalk that had decent reviews…this isn’t one of them! Loved, loved loved this hotel! Thank you Tidelands for an awesome stay!

Have to admit that after reading some of the previous reviews for Tidelands, that I was concerned about my choice of lodging for our family's stay in ocean city. However, Tidelands proved me wrong! The property could use some updating, but it still has character. Our room there was fine and the beds were comfortable. The staff were great!!! They all responded to needs that we had (like additional towels and assistance with a broken bottle). Very personable. We really liked the outdoor pool with the bar that offered tasty drinks. Would definitely stay there again... Thank you Tidelands for helping to make our vacation a good one!

Terrible experience. We were in line at 4pm To check in and the front desk lady told us our room wasn’t ready and she was waiting for it to be checked. I asked if we could be moved to another room and she said that wasn’t an option even though she was offering that to other guests. 45 minutes late the manager came down and asked if she could help us and I told her we had been waiting for over 45 minutes to check in and she finally told the lady at the front desk to put us in another room that was ready. That’s all I was asking for all along. The front desk staff didn’t know what they were doing. The room was mediocre at best. Bathroom has mold and desperately needs updating. Only one elevator in the building so always waiting for it several rounds before we could use it. Have stayed here many times in the past but won’t be staying here again. Use your money elsewhere. This place needs some serious work and needs lessons on customer service. Would not recommend to anyone.

Most of the staff was rude and unfriendly and lied to me about checking in early when our rooms were ready but another family member was allowed to check in early. I was told I'd need to pay and extra fee but they weren't charged extra. They never had towels available for refresh they never cleaned the rooms and it wasn't even clean when we got there. There was food on our floors that wasn't ours. The one pool never had towels available for use. No sheet was provided till requested for the pull out couch and then an attitude was given about that. Overall it was a very bad experience for all the family of ours that stayed and we had 5 rooms there and all were filthy.

10/10 do NOT recommend. I've never been treated so poorly by a staff member in a hotel. It started off great with check-in, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We only stayed 3 nights and I was traveling alone with 2 small children. During the second night, at 11:30pm, long after we all fell asleep, the phone rings in the room. I missed the phone because I was asleep and I was confused by what was ringing. I assumed someone called the room by accident, given the time. Then suddenly, someone starts banging on door. I was afraid to open the door but did anyway. Hotel security was standing there, he told me there was an issue with my credit card and if I don't resolve the issue at the front desk by midnight, he threatened to evict us from the room. I told him I couldn't leave because my children were sleeping. I called the front desk and the woman was extremely rude, repeating the same thing hotel security said. She claimed my credit card was declined and I had to come downstairs if I wanted to continue my stay. She also refused to accept my credit card over the phone. When I told her my children were sleeping and I couldn't leave, she said "we have cameras, your kids will be fine". Against my better judgment, I went downstairs, only to find out this entire problem was over a $14.95 resort fee! I have never been treated so poorly in a hotel, this should NEVER have happened, it was completely unacceptable to be threatened at 11:30pm at night. I will never stay again.

I enjoyed my stay once we finally received our room keys. Check-in was at 4pm but our rooms weren’t ready until 5:30-6. The front desk clerks were really nice and it was out of their control. Manager had no care in the world. The hotel was nice yes I would go back and stay!!!!!

Friendly staff and great location

There was alot of outside noise hard to sleep after 12 am … .. woke up around 5:00 am to alot of noise alot og metal bangging.. from 5 am-7:30 am. Did not rest and had a long way to drive back home.. i even recorded a video of how loud it was from my bed.. had no sleep and had to check out at 11:00 am . Staff and cleaness were great but i just wish they would had gaven me a more later check out to able to rest and my kids too . I will love to stay again bc of cleanest and space buy i dony know abouth the noice…

Convenient right on beach

Tile floors are nice to have at the beach. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. Location was excellent. I stayed in a room along the road. There was a good view of the beach from the balcony, but there was also a good view of all the balconies across the street. I enjoyed the real wood-board boardwalk. Coffee and NY bagel on the boardwalk downstairs was terrific.

Liked the location and convenience to the beach. It was clean but dated and could use a lot of upgrades. Negatives: not a lot of parking, one slow elevator, didn’t get housekeeping and had to ask for more towels (was told they only had 1 wash cloth left), small pools and one didn’t have any clean towels, light coming through uncovered windows at night, and the noise… it’s right next to a Hooters and you can hear the music until midnight at least. Also the doors to other rooms slam shut and is very disruptive.

Conviently located, great view of the beach and ocean. Right on the boardwalk for shopping and entertainment.

Floor fridge microwave door was dirty beds were clean and comfortable there were flys in the room but no other bugs absolutely no where to park except if u paid front desk was friendly and helpful and banged on the neighbors door to turn down their loud music the poolside bar and restaurant as advertised was shut down not staying there again had to park across the street and pay

Nice updates to the pool bar and lobby

Have been staying here for the past few years and I noticed on this trip everything looked a lot nicer. The lobby was very clean and smelling fresh. Rooms were same. Good quality service was good atmosphere overall very good and will no doubt to stay again next year. They knew Restaurant bar by the pool was much improved with better food but really do miss some of the more exotic drinks.

Great location! Beautiful views, staff were very kind, bar was excellent, and the room was clean. Really enjoyed our stay!

What a great place that was close to the festival to go back and forth as needed. We were close to a ton of restaurants and ships, the location was everything. My son & hubby ate at the pool bar and said the food was good. The front desk workers were great, very friendly. We'd totally go back

Our room was very clean, we had more than enough towels, toilet paper, etc. The staff was very friendly. The on site dining was excellent!!! Very close to the boardwalk. Will definitely be coming back A+
