Princess Royale Oceanfront Resort

Stay was great.... have a small main lobby and 1 resturant for breakfast... and a limited menu for dinner..... no room service either... pool was amazing for my 2 kids.... not on the boardwalk so you have to drive there.... def better food choices near the hotel which that is a plus....

Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. Wish they had more staff at the bar though. Not a big drinker by took forever to get a mixed drink. Parking was a crap shoot. They had a garage but was too small for pick up trucks. Had to wait for spots to open up on the side roads to park. Great access to beach . They only had 1 location to rinse off from sand so there was a line as people bathed. All in all the price was worth the trip.

We got caught in the recent hurricane and thought our beach vacation was ruined. Happened upon this place and we were saved! The atrium overlooking the beach is stunning and the indoor pool was wonderful!

I’ve been coming to The Princess Royal for years. It’s a great place for families. Love the location, food, huge indoor pool and facilities Ocean City is one of my happy places!!!

For starters, the parking garage is TERRIBLE. Be prepared for extremely tight turns and hope the vehicles beside you park in their spot as straight as possible. The exit sign was so high up, i couldn't even see it. Luckily my passenger saw it. It would be very easy to drive the wrong way. The hotel itself needs better signage because it feels like a maize. On the 3rd floor, there are wires hanging from the ceiling tiles that were pushed in or hanging out. We stayed in room 316. The room was clean but we had electric outlets partially hanging out of the wall. The microwave and refrigerator were clean and well kept. I attempted to watch some tv and thankfully I had teenagers with me that could figure it out. It should never be that complicated. The pool definitely wasn't heated. I know the cool water feels good on a hot day but this was too extreme. When I went exploring to find beach access, I found out you have to go through the pool on the 2nd level and down steps to get there. Thankfully I didn't have our beach wagon at the time because that would have been impossible.

Wish elevator was faster

Dated and dirty. No hot tub even though advertised as such. Removed to put in bar/snack shop that was closed. Hotel halls smelled of marijuana. Staff unhelpful. No towels at pool and pool area not clean. Beds hard and uncomfortable.

This is used to be our preferred hotel. Due to the wonderful hot tub sauna and relaxation by the pool area. Now they changed it where there is no longer a hot tub or a sauna. They brought all the games down by the pool area, which is extremely loud. They changed the pool. A lot of the customers there were extremely loud and rowdy. This stay was not relaxing as it usually was. We did not know that there was no longer a sauna or hot tub. That was their main attraction to us. Other than that, the staff was wonderful. The room was good.

Really liked the newly renovated rooms and that each has a kitchen area with sink, microwave, coffee maker, and fridge. I was disappointed to see that in the renovation the hot tub and sauna was removed from the pool area- these were one of the reasons we chose Princess! Now we need to find another OC hotel with those options...

Everything was nice and clean and the staff was very helpful

• Dead flies all over suite • Everything in shower is empty (shampoo body wash conditioner) • Stained bed sheet • Stained curtain • Cookware is dirty from previous person who used it • Couch has stains • Floor is covered in sand (more than just a little) • Spiderwebs in all corners of room • Hallways are always dirty

Mouse….. found a mouse in our room and asked for another and they said there was non available. They promised full refund but looks like we only received a pro-rated portion as of now. we left that night that’s 5 hours away.

The room was not clean even after waiting until 5pm, bathroom ceiling leaking a pan full Of water above ceiling tile and tile was soaked

The staff was excellent, but the cleaning service was none existent. We didn’t know about the food options. No info in the rooms. The beds were old and lumpy. Need to replaced immediately. Sand on the floors of the room and the hallways. Had to wear shoes the entire time. Also had a mouse running in the room.

There were several hairs on the bed sheets and pillows (as well as a towel), and while they were sweet and willing to replace the sheets each time, there were three separate occasions where there was hair on the sheets. Unfortunately, this made the stay less than ideal or comfortable in regards to trusting the cleanliness. Otherwise, the staff (both the person who helped with replacing the sheets and the front desk staff) were extremely helpful and cooperative with the issues.

Beautiful rooms and the pool at night was so pretty with the colors. In addition, very clean rooms

Floor was sandy and no maid service was given each day of stay.

Check-in was easy and fast. Issue was there was sand all over the room floor, we initially thought it was us but not the case as another occupant overheard us and had the same sentiments. The hallways were also full of sand and not once did I ever hear a vacuum running by housekeeping. I did request the room floor be cleaned while we were out and advised it would be swept, but upon return there was still sand throughout the room even in the shower. Housekeeping is not the best, there was hair in the bathroom, stains of food and heavens knows what on the light switches and doors. It's a great thing I always bring my own cleaning supplies but didn't think I needed a swifter for the floors. There was also ants in the kitchen on the counter and the night stands which was rather annoying. Also the dresser, nightstands and bathroom shelves were extremely dusty. There are no screens on the balcony door which also allowed bugs in so we couldn't leave it open to enjoy the sea breeze. Otherwise the beds were comfortable and the AC worked great, full sized fridge

We had oceanfront condo, beautiful view. One thing that could have been better is the internet connection

This was the best non condo hotel room we have ever stayed in on vacation. The pictures on the listing don't do it justice for how large the room is. We go a 2 queen with partial ocean view. This is essentially a small apartment, there is an actual bedroom separate from a living room and kitchen. The facility was immaculate and the hallways were well lit. The room was updated with modern features. This will be our go to hotel from now on when we stay in OC!

The resort is about 20 minutes from the boardwalk by car, so close enough, but far enough to have less crowds. The staff was very nice. However, it didn't really feel like it lived up to our expectations. The resort is a bit dated, so the beds are hard as a rock. There's no where to hang towels which is a huge oversight at the beach. The ceiling in our bathroom leaked all week even after maintenance came out twice. There's no hot tub, the "restaurant" is an open air cafe, which is fine on nice days, but it left us with no options on a rainy day. The drinks from the bar tasted like they really held back on the liquor. Also, the cook top in the Kitchenette only worked once. After that we could never get it to come back on. I'd give this place 3 stars for the location alone.

Liked convenience of being located on beach. Nice rooms for families with a door that separated bedroom from kitchen / living room. Only cons were very loud air conditioning unit in bedroom and if staying in pool view room the noise can be pretty loud outside until late at night. Just Take earplugs if that bothers you. Overall we had a great time.

The room was nice. We were on the four floor but next to the elevator. We heard the elevator ding all night long when it stopped on the Fourth floor. The walls were thin. I could hear the room next store including them turning on the shower, the kids banding walls and their music. There was music playing at 6:30 am extremely loud. There is no room service unless you call for it. The parking was convent on the property. There was a decent size indoor pool. The hotel did not provide beach chairs but did have them for rent on the beach. The fourth floor hallway had an order. The room was clean. Sand did get tracked in the room. The room faces the indoor pool, had a slider but no balcony.

The view of the ocean was beautiful from our bedroom balcony. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel, itself, is rather dated and dark in the hallways, though it was clear our room had been recently renovated. Our air conditioner broke, but kudos to the staff for promptly changing our room when it couldn’t be fixed quickly. I wouldn’t call this a “resort”, per se. It’s a decent place to stay, though, particularly if you don’t want to be in the midst of the craziness at the boardwalk.

The room was very nice and very updated and it smelled pretty fresh. I love the furniture and the layout because it’s set up like a one bedroom apartment. It’s also less than a 2 minute walk from the beach. My only 2 issues were the WiFi in the bedroom didn’t have a strong signal so the streaming services ( Netflix , Prime) kept going out and we had to restart it multiple times. The other issue was the floors weren’t as clean as I would’ve liked them and my socks told me that. Otherwise, it’s a great place to stay and we’re definitely staying again!

Cynthia, the staff member, was wonderful—friendly, sweet, and polite with great customer skills. The hotel was great—clean, up-to-date, and well-furnished.

On arrival and entering the hotel, I was taken away with how beautiful it was, but sadly followed by pure equipment when I interacted with the staff member of the contest to check in. The fact the verb was extremely rewrite off the bat. She informed me that an additional hundred dollar charge we needed, and when I explained that my room was fully funded and paid for upon my arrival and nowhere in any of the confirmation did it say anything about meeting an additional charge. The staff member then responded and told me that I could cancel my reservation and I would not be fully refunded or I could just pay the hundred dollar fee and stop wasting her time because it was in the email that I received and I must’ve just missed it. I was very frustrated. Was that an interaction but it was late and I just went and paid to see anyway. Upon going to our room to doorman was able to assist with my luggage and I truly appreciate that. He’s nothing but kind the room was very nice and clean I was impressed with the mirror in the bathroom and the decor. However, that went downhill when we laid on the bed, there was a huge hole in one of the beds, completely sunken in as well as the boxspring holding it up broken I did mention that the same person downstairs and she told me that there was no way she could switch my room, but I can wait for a manager to come in tomorrow the following day and switch my room. We ended up to tolerating it, but it was one of the most uncomfortable beds.

The rooms were spacious & clean. The staff members were very accommodating. The beach was near which was nice. The lady Paula who checked me in was amazing!! I will stay again!!

Luggage service was great and friendly. were at the door to immediately greet you. Front desk were also friendly and quick to get you checked in / out. Price matched hotels.com and didnt have any secret fees or added fees from the website. Parking garage is a little stressful how tight it is with a larger car but great with having availability on site. The suites have a sink, full fridge, and even dishwasher which is awesome for a hotel. Everything was clean other than a stain on a blanket which was immediately replaced. Overall great stay for Oceans Calling.

From the moment we pulled up we knew it was going to be an awesome experience. Every person we encountered was pleasant and helpful. The hotel itself has been updated and it shows. Nothing is ever perfect but the management team seems to be very aware of what is needed to cme very close. We appreciate the landscaping and the amenities and the availability of staff assistance. Our room was lovely, cozy and comfy. Finding a good hotel that doesn’t completely break the bank is hard to find these days but Princess Royale has bot disappointed. If it's just you or a family of 10 they have a place for you. I highly recommend coming for a visit and staying for an experience. It's worth the little extra for quality and comfort. It's clean, the views are impeccable and the service is amazing.

This is my second time staying. The hotel is wonderful. The bell boys were very quick to get our luggage. The front desk was super quick. The hotel is renovated and cleaned thoroughly. The pool is indoors which helps in bad weather. We had a clogged bathroom sink upon checkin and it was resolved in 10 minutes. The same think with a locked safe. The hotel is run very well. The oceanview room we had was a bit smaller than a regular room but the views were worth it. Highly recommended.

The customer service was not great from leadership. We requested housekeeping 9am in the morning and left the property all day. Returned close to 4pm and it was not done. We called and visited the front desk a total of 6 times before we got service, which was close to 8pm at night. There was trash left in the room and visbily unclean. When we escalated to the manager, Paula Lopez she was very dismissive, offered no token of reconciliation, and said they would check to see what happened. Never did she address any of the concerns we had nor care about the experience. Truly awful customer service.

This was my first experience here, and probably my last. After driving many hours, I was told my room was not ready when I came an hour later to check in. The receptionist told me to go park my car and by the time I came back my room would be ready. I park my car and come back to 6-7 people waiting in front of me. Again I have to wait to be checked in, and another person decides to ask a question and the receptionist doesn’t even acknowledge that I’m next, or explains to this person to wait her turn after I’ve been waiting to be checked in. The person hands me my keys, and that’s it! doesn’t explain to me where my room is, what floor I can find the pool on, absolutely nothing. It was a horrible experience.

Great location (beach is a few steps from the hotel) and nice/helpful staff. Check-in and check-out was easy. A clean/spacious room that has everything you need. Multi level parking available. Close enough to go anywhere and far from the busy boardwalk.

Me and my family had a wonderful ocean front beach resort experience at this Princess Royale resort.

Great hotel, close to everything but the boardwalk. We don’t even venture to the boardwalk and barely used the car, everything was so close. Right on the beach with an indoor pool. The elevators were VERY slow, in the hotel and the parking garage, painfully slow. We had ocean view rooms, the balcony was small, but big enough for two people to sit. I would not recommend getting a room poolside, it was always loud 10am-10pm going through there. Nothing terrible, but kids playing and when the weather is bad, they bring the tables in with live music. The restaurants were good, but very expensive - you pay for conscience. Overall, a great stay!

Very clean, staff was very nice, food was very good, hotel was room was top tier!! The only thing we didn't care for was the parking garage!

The property was beautiful. The staff is kind. I loved the convenience of parking, dining and shopping all in one area. Beachfront was amazing. The crab cake at the restaurant The Current was wonderful. I would love to experience a longer stay with my family. We stayed for two days. I would definitely visit the property again.

My husband and I went for an Anniversary weekend during the weekend of Hurricane Erin. No beach one of the days, but we enjoyed the pool bar and large pool. The bartenders were very friendly. The drinks and food options were delicious. We loved not having to go out for food. The suite was really nicely decorated, big and I loved that it had a full size fridge for drinks. However, the outlet for the fridge kept tripping and we had to reset it every few hours. The next day was sunny, so we hung out on the beach behind the hotel. This area was very pretty with a bar and food, as well. We’ll definitely be coming back next year!!

The hotel has discontinued room service and no longer has a hot tub. Breakfast is in a restaurant onsite and is not complimentary. The staff and rooms were great!

The resort was very nice and the room is spacious. The breakfast restaurant in the hotel was alright, probably wouldn’t go back there. But the bellmen service was great and I also liked the coffee shop.

Did not get to use the resort credit since I paid cash at the restaurants and they would not take it off my bill

Large pool. Easy access to beach. Ease of parking. Clean. Room should be turned over each day. Restaurants should be open. No entertainment. Price is too high.

Beautiful room, comfortable bed. Loved the view. We wished the restaurant was open for breakfast, grateful for the Starbucks in the Lobby.
