Spark by Hilton Portland Airport Maine Mall

Pool room was freezing with AC blasting. The pool itself was not heated. The shower in the room had zero pressure and trickled out. It was impossible to regulate the shower temperature. I noticed black mold in the window. Fruit flies and stink bugs in the room. I have stayed at cheaper hotels with warmer pools, nicer showers, and no bugs.

Pool not open. This was not advertised and we would have chosen another hotel has we known. Having a child and driving many hours to get there, kids look forward to burning off energy in the pool. 1 hour into the breakfast service, there was no milk, no muffins, no eggs, no waffle mix and a few pieces of ham that was so terribly dry it was like jerky

Positives, large enough room, reasonable rates , working ev chargers 1 ccs and 3 tesla destination chargers, convenient to the highway. Negative Washroom fan was very noisy, heat pump also noisy.

The property itself was fine for the price. Staff were pleasant, and helpful. Absolutely zero sound proofing. All night you could hear people in the next rooms, people in the halls like they were right next to you, traffic outside, airplanes… This property is best reserved for an overnight pitstop. Also, if the pool matters to you, it is comically small.

Room was well updated, comfy beds, nice new shower. The whole property seems recently renovated with full solar panels on roof. There were a few spills on the chair not cleaned from previous guest. Room other wise clean. The pool is on the smaller side and can only accommodate probably 5-6 people comfortably, something to keep in mind especially with kids. Could have used a good cleaning when we were there, some hair and tape/clothing tags found floating in pool. All in all a good 1 night stay at a good price.

Love the part where they had tesla chargers

It stated that it had 24 hr shuttle to the airport but unfortunately it was not provided for us because they said that it was available at 4am but we had to leave by 3:30am.

Despite our 1:00 am arrival to the airport, a hotel shuttle was available to bring us to the hotel. On top of that, the driver was such a a friendly person that all in the shuttle has smiles on their faces.

The interior of the room have been updated and look very nice. The internet worked okay. The roach when we checked out was a bit of a surprise, but easy to step on.

We checked in Friday afternoon, and then took our two children out to a late lunch/dinner. We came back to our room to relax, and were beginning to notice ants appearing one after another in between the two queen sized beds. Upon further investigation, I moved the nightstand and there was a pile of half-eaten cherry pits in a mound of dust. I looked even further, and behind both beds were crumbs, hair ties, earring backs, combs, individual scattered pieces of animal hair and human hair. Ants were on the beds and I believe I spotted lice. Behind the beds haven’t been dusted and are chalked full of it. The room was clearly not thoroughly cleaned, and hadn’t been in some time based on the amount of ants. My wife and I watched them bringing crumbs under a tiny gap in the wall. There’s a bigger infestation that goes farther than the room we were in. My wife let the front desk know about the infestation, and they told her that the housekeeping would come take a look, and to pack our bags. When asked if we’d be getting our room switched, she said she wasn’t sure and seemed a bit annoyed. We waited just about 45 minutes for the housekeeping to come and they didn’t, the ants were crawling on our belongings, and we had plans with our children, so my wife went back to the front desk, explained once again and asked for a new room. The woman rolled her eyes and said “take these new cards” and that was it. We were switched to a room upstairs, and it appeared to have actually been cleaned.

The room was very clean. I like the fact that the floor was not carpeted. The bathroom looked brand new.

Bed bugs I had bites and welps

The floors were sticky. Smelled of smoke. Shower was covered in grime and hair. Overall left feeling unclean and gross. Will not be returning

During a busy travel season, this was a great find for a budget lodging situation that had all the comfort of a nice hotel. The location is great, close to Portland and main attractions like the lighthouse. There is ample parking and staff is attentive and friendly. Our space was clean and comfortable. We were very happy with the space and what we paid for, internet worked great too for remote work. Highly recommend staying here for a trip to Maine!

This hotel was FILTHY. The hallways look like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Our room floor was dirty.

Basic get it done hotel. Friendly staff, good breakfast, but one small elevator at the far end and tiny tiny bathrooms with fans like a jet plane taking off.

Pros: I arrived ~1:30am and still had a pretty easy check in process. Hotel is very easy on/off highway and to get Lyfts. Great blackout shades. Cons: No carpeting, so bring slippers. You can hear every noise from the hall, so bring ear plugs. The heat/AC is one or the other, so once you set a temp, you have to manually swap it between heat and AC to get to your desired temp. It is a budget hotel, so I got what I paid for. My only real complaint was the stains on the comforter and curtains that seemed hard to miss.

I appreciated the early check in and switch to a ground level room. The motel is what one can expect for the money. It is located in an area of town that is not really walkable, but shopping and chain restaurants are a close drive away. I was disappointed by the wifi. I got kicked off multiple times on different devices. The practical consequence was there was no ubereats delivery and just cable for late night entertainment.

Water pressure in the shower was very weak.

Just OK. Room was clean enough but walls were paper thin and could hear others and a dog barking all night. Bed was very uncomfortable. Hotel itself seems in need of some upgrades

Apparently, this hotel had just gone thru renovations a couple months before out stay. Took two times for staff to come to our room to check why our TV did not work and every channel selected said "no air". Both staff visits did not provide any resolve and we just did without. For 2nd night stay I shared with front desk our ongoing issues. They tried to fix it while we were away during the day and returned to a TV that basically only had music channels available. Advised front desk again. They didn't have any answers other than to ask us what was not working....again. They did ask if we wanted another room. I side well only if the TV works and had they heard from any one else having TV problems, they just shrugged their shoulders. I said well let me go to the room you would switch us to and make sure the TV works. We did that and appeared it worked ok. Still no internet channels that you could use your personal signon with a smart TV. Still not sure what was the issue but guessing they were having ongoing reopening issues. Would have been nice to know.

It was hard to sleep. You can hear lots of activity in the middle of the night/early morning from doors opening/slamming, ice machines, and people talking. I'll bring ear plugs next time, since walls and doors seem to be thin. Other than that, there was nothing special that stood out. It was just fine, not bad

Checking in was a bit slow

I left some clothing behind. They retrieved it and held it for pick up. Very nice!

The hotel was ok but the staff was unbelievably rude, particularly the evening receptionist.

I asked for a late checkout the night before the beach to beacon and told it would be ok. I then went in early on Sat. Morning telling the night auditor the race was being started an hour later due to the weather. I ask if we could have a late 1pm checkout due to the later start. She was very friendly and said it wouldn’t be a problem. I went to the race. Meanwhile my wife was ask to leave by 10am. They left and came by and made her leave by 12pm. I think the staff could handle the situation a little more professional.

No shampoo in shower it was empty There is a 50 dollar hold that takes 5 business days to come off but when u check in they claim it comes right off

Multiple issues with this hotel. 1. Check in took longer than 15 min with a line of people waiting around 415pm. I had an event to attend and was late because of this. There was only one employee (I assume the manager working). The next day, all the tables at breakfast were dirty and sticky. I went to the front desk to ask for a cloth to clean a table, I was told to notify the employee working in the breakfast area (appeared to be son of the manager). I notified him but after 15 min of waiting, it wasn't cleaned! I booked this room through expedia and have the room rate confirmed as $169.15 per night. I also requested a rollaway bed for my child which was not in the room at check in. The night employee(who was helpful)did find one for us. At check out, I asked for the receipt and to my surprise, noted a higher nightly rate of $179.15. When I notified the front desk, they refused to honor the rate quoted by Expedia and said that it was the extra bed charge. I brought this up with Expedia and both expedia and the hotel insisted thia was the extra bed charge. Bottom line, my receipt shows a higher nightly rate PLUS the extra bed charge. I DO NOT recommend this hotel and WILL NOT be using Expedia again!

Front desk was rude and harsh. Did not explain where my room was so i had to come back to the desk to get help. The hotel required a $50 deposit for damages. This was not on the website. I couldnt get the front desk worker to tell me if this was a "facility fee" or a damage deposit. Im still not clear if i get it back. I was so negatively affected by this experience i couldnt sleep. The room was very clean. Well appointed , comfortable bed

Convenient to airport

It was in a busy, yet convenient location. Many restaurants and mall across the road. Old Port is a 10-15 drive. Lots to do there as far as shops, restaurants, trolley/boat tours. Great views of Casco Bay, too!

A short distance from the freeway, the airport and Cosco gas. Great breakfast. We used the available laundry. Mini-refrigerator has no freezer and no luggage rack. Worked well for the last night before flying out early next day. They provide transportation to the airport if asked. (We didn't use that service.)

Needed a place for one night in this area. Days Inn was convenient, clean and suited our needs.

I love this hotel and have been staying at Days Inn for over 30 years. This is the only one left of the ones I frequented. One in my home town that is now closed. The rooms are easily accessible, everything is exceptionally clean, comfortable bed, etc. I did not care for the pillows but they were acceptable. This free breakfast buffet is the best. The largest selection of foods, both hot and cold, waffle iron, fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon, 3 different white milk selections, chocolate milk, muffins, bread, bagels, etc. This is only a sample and the staff refills the items if they out. Mall with a bowling alley is right there, close to the jetport with easy access to I-95 and so many food options close by including a diverse and delicious food court inside the mall. The is an excellent hotel and I thank you for that. Exceptional quality at a reasonable price. I’ve stayed many times, my friends all stay often and it’s the only choice for my wife and me when we’re in the area. Thank you!

They advertise continental breakfast but there is no such thing. Its only breakfast to go.

GOOD BREAKFAST SETUP

Very convenient hotel for those flying into PWM. Quick stop on the way to Rockland. Front desk was pleasant. Got me toothpaste I forgot. Told them about stopped up sink and they noted it. (It wasn't an issue for me as I simply removed the stopper and left it on the counter to be cleaned.) Breakfast was excellent. Much more than I expected.

Location is great. It was noisy. The food variety could be better.

Good value. Good breakfast. Obviously an older motel that has been refurbished. Because of the age bathroom is small, lacks towel hanger by the sink. Bed was comfortable. Staff were good. Would go again.
