The location is excellent, very clean, the Lending cabinet is the best idea I’ve seen in a very long time. We did want our room cleaned, stayed ten days but wasn’t done. We got our linens from the front desk so that was alright. The gentleman working the front desk in the evenings… didn’t catch his name is constantly cleaning and had the best personality. He was super helpful and very pleasant. The driveway coming in to the property however… huge potholes and very rough. We would absolutely stay again and plan to on our next visit.

The staff here are amazing! If it’s broke, David from the front desk will fix it. Pay that man more! The room was very clean, the bed was so comfy, the pool was well taken care of. There is a cute lending cabinet and snack room in the lobby. There’s a basketball and volleyball court in the back that teenagers were playing on. So wholesome. Stay here and you won’t regret it.

This hotel is in need out a major upgrade. It’s tucked away in the back of a parking lot, lighting of the sign was non-existent. The inside area was clean, but dated. The staff was real nice and very friendly. The rooms were clean, but very much in need of upgrading. The pool was a hot mess, displaying a picture online of a hot tub, then seeing that the hot tub had been tiled over. The door to get out of the pool area didn’t work and there are no signs indicating that a red button (that appears to be for emergencies), needs to be pressed and held for the door to unlock. The halls smelled of cannabis and a nasty fish scent. I was not at all impressed with the hallways and elevator areas. Also, there was no hot breakfast as it states online and the kitchen had no stove, as I was told by the front desk. So, the food items I had purchased to heat in the oven, went right in the trash. Again, friendly staff, but lousy location and terrible amenities.

We set thermostat at 75. Never got above 72. Did laundry....then found both dryers broken, so we were left with wet clothes. Both treadmills in exercise room inoperable. One of the two elevators did not work. Floor indicator in elevator not working....safety issue. No safety grab handle in tub/shower. Worst place I've stayed in a long time.

Very nice facility. We stayed the night before an early flight out. The shuttle driver was right on time and very polite. Only thing we didn’t expect was the daily charge for leaving our car there.

The first room they checked me into did not have a functioning toilet. Of course you don't discover that until you have used it. They did promptly change me to another room. One of the reasons I chose this hotel is the airport shuttle beginning at 4 am. The shuttle never showed up and the front desk was unable to contact the driver. I ended up getting a Lyft ride at 5 am and barely made my flight on time. Also, it cost me an additional $20 due to the lack of the shuttle. I had reminded them of my need for the 4 am shuttle when I checked in and again at 3:45 am. Very disappointing is the nice way to put it.

The room we stayed in needed a deep clean especially around the windows. The door to the bathroom was a wooden door. The veneer was pealing and the door dragged across the bathroom floor. I had to lift it by the handle to open it the whole way.

Did not enjoy the overall vibe of this place. The hallway smelled terrible, very strong cigarette scent despite the large no smoking sign at check in. It was very old and worn looking everywhere. The room was decently cleaned, though some of the dishes were not. They do not provide dishwasher detergent so I had to hand wash dishes instead, which was disappointing. They also were using the luggage carts to haul out their garbage to the dumpster which was gross. It’s not the worst hotel ever, but it left a lot to be desired.

The floor in our room had not been vacuumed or swept. The ceiling in the bathroom had chipped and bubbled paint, and it was the source of the debris on the room's floor. I let the front desk know and the manager on duty came up and vacuumed the room for us, which was appreciated, as was his apology, but isn't this hotel cleanliness 101 kind of stuff?

Hotel was run down, shower was leaking every time I used it. The hallways smelled like smoke. I was on ground floor and I heard these loud weird noises that sounded like machine type noises that were banging and very loud and went off every 5 minutes during the day. The staff were barely sitting in the reception at all you had to ring the bell to get help. Also, the WiFi was the worst. It kept going out every once in a while. This is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at and do not recommend anyone to stay at.

Second stop here in 8 days. Convenient to have kitchen in room. Looked like tile in bathroom was new! The shower curtain fit the tub this time. Easy to travel here with pet a great bit go or the money. Front desk folks are very friendly — they make you feel like old friends. Thank you for being pleasant.

Very tired property in need of more than just lipstick reno. The staff were friendly and helpful, but they can't make miracles happen. Internet was terrible; it kept dropping out and I could only manage to connect one device at a time. Not exactly convenient for a business traveler.

The staff was excellent, especially David who was able to secure a late check-out for me. The room was squeaky clean, the bed was comfortable, the sheets and pillows were perfect, the shower was hot and had great water pressure, and the kitchen in the king suite was spacious and well-stocked. 10/10 for all of this. The downside was that I woke up to a beeping sound at 6:40am, which cut through the fan I had left on. I turned off the fan, the beeping was still going. Checked the hallway and outside the window, only to realize it was an alarm clock in the room next to me. With walls so thin, they shouldn't book people in adjoining rooms. I was up for hours before I was able to fall back asleep after than. Not super restful. I would still book this property again, but I would make sure to bring ear plugs.

The outsiide of the hotel and property looks a bit outdated. The room itself was unexpectedly fabulous by comparison. Full kitchen, beautiful cupboards, dishwasher, full fridge, super clean, huge soft king bed and pillows that I now want to buy. I slept better than I have in months. The front desk clerk was friendly and I saw him running around working in various locations. We stayed two days for a volleyball tournament anx it was very affordable, especially considering it was GVSU graduation weekend.

I had to switch to 3 rooms because the curtains do not close all the way and there are parking lot lights that blare in, then the next room did not have a TV that worked, the last room also had light issues but I was not willing to change rooms again. It was clean, but the room was noisey because of the furnace coming on and off.

I will never stay here and I would advise against anyone else doing so as they have no compassior understand. Ing!! They're policy of charging a $100 to Check-in early is more important than the safety of a guest in triple digit temperatures

The staff was great! We used their park and fly option when we traveled out of the country. They were helpful and made sure we got to our flight and then back to our vehicle. It was super great to stay the night before our early morning flight! Will stay again!

I work in the hospitality industry as a guest service agent (aka front desk) so I appreciate anyone working the same job! I just want to say, Shante was literally one of the BEST most professional, kind, and supportive agent I’ve ever met! My stay was delayed by 2 hours, and Shante made sure my, also beyond amazing, shuttle driver Justin. Never did I feel like a pain or that I was putting them how! The hotel itself needs to put down some boundaries I.e excessive marijuana smoking, folks fighting at all hours of the night, but Shante made my night! Honestly, all front desk staff was wonderful! I’d definitely stay here again because of them! ❤️

Candlewood Suites is very convenient if traveling through Gerald Ford International Airport. My room was very neat and clean and very reasonably priced. There was a slight issue upon arrival with my reservation, however, the manager very quickly and cheerfully resolved the matter. Very nice one night stay.

I commend this hotel for only charging $12.50 per night per pet. Other hotels I checked in the area charged almost 10 times that. Our suite was clean and comfortable. The property outdoors was not - construction workers hanging around their trucks, people leaving rocks to hold doors on the side or back, people hanging around. I was so impressed by the low pet fee, I didn’t notice there wasn’t a complimentary breakfast. We were supposed to use the dog walk area, but never saw it. Staff was friendly.

Rooms were nice and very spacious. Beds a little stiff but not unbearable. Didn’t see any signs of continental breakfast but also didn’t look. Had an odd smell in public areas but again not unbearable. I’d stay again for the price.
