Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Cottage Grove, MN

generally everything you needed was there, no complaints. the only thing I would say on a mantainence side is that when someone gets a chance, they re-secure one of the screws holding the shower bar, on the toilet side of the shower. it held up fine, but just screwing that back in would have made things perfect. the pool was nice, and the spa also hit the spot. and the next morning, the plow guy for the lot did a great job so that I could get going to work nearby. overall, a good refuge from the storm that came through Tuesday night.

Hot tube was not working

Good pool.good breakfast and cookies. Clean thru out hotel in and outside. All around great place to stay.

Disappointed that the pool and spa are closed with no advanced notice. Also, ceiling is peeling above the shower in the bathroom.

Enjoyed our stay. First time there. Was very nice. Pool was great. Rooms were really nice, clean & comfortable.

Hotel is.clean and accessible. Hot tub was out of order and pool area was like a sauna in temperature.

The pool was not functional at the time of my visit. This should've been disclosed before booking or offered a discount for room reservation.

Room was clean and quiet, pool area was nice, All the staff I had contact with were friendly and helpful. I must give a shoutout to the lady running the breakfast room. She was an absolute gem- even if she was a Green Bay Packer fan!

Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice room. good breakfast and the lady staffing it was so friendly and pleasant. I think the pool and spa were nice, but. it really hurt to walk on the pebbly floor which had loose pebbles and hurt the feet. My 4 y.o. grandson cut his toe.

Staff was very helpful any property is alway very clean. I wish the hot tub had been working being I was looking forward to use it on this trip.

Staff and service was lovely however the room stunk…literally. The air must be leaking and the carpet was wet and smelled of mildew.

Great staff, clean rooms

Our stay was fine but, the entire 1st and 2nd floor smelled horribly of cigarette smoke

The person at the check in desk was friendly and got us checked in quickly. The breakfast was very good. It was loud late at night in the hallway with people talking. Our room carpet had several large stains that should have been shampooed. It made the room look very bad.

The bathtub hadn't been cleaned as there were some hairs and the tub was chipping so standing in it felt gritty. There was also a ton of dust on the wall above the shower indicating they rarely wipe the walls. The vent did not work.

Room was very dirty. Carpet looked as if it hadn’t been vacuum. Found a pill on a table and the bedspread was dirty. Room also had maintenance issues which we reported to the manager.

Beds looked like they had been slept in. There was hair between the sheets. Insufficient housekeeping. Pillows smelled. Carpet filthy. 0nly one chair in a double occupancy room. No vent in bathroom so towels don’t dry. Had to ask for more towels.

Loved the jetted tub and the room was very spacious.

Property is nice and cozy. We had half of our outlets work in the room, and the walls are paper thin when guests are running around. Had a hard time sleeping because of loud guests.

We were asked if we wanted a free upgrade to a jacuzzi room at check in and agreed. The jacuzzi was in the main room not the bathroom and looked old and dirty. We were right next to the elevator that was incredibly mechanically noisy. It did not anuiet down until 1:00 am due to a wedding group staying there. When asked via text how our stay was going, we got no response beyond we will get back to you shortly.

A late arrival after a long day of travel ended with a nice welcome smile and a spotless room. We were in a small suite which gave us lots more space than anticipated, including a door between the living area and bedroom. I will definitely return.

People in the room above us were very noisy. Stomping around for over an hour after midnight. Never heard that in a hotel before, it was unbelievably loud. Bedding was very thin and no extra blanket was in the room.

Nice big rooms

The room was very clean & mostly comfortable. The mattress on the bed was a bit to firm for my taste. The staff was attentive at the desk & in the breakfast area.

A bit dated but very clean and comfortable King bed. Stayed here alone on way to Mayo clinic appt. Very nice front desk, gave me a quiet room at my request. Jets in jacuzzi tub didn’t work, or at least they didn’t for me. Seating area outside. No vaping allowed inside. Did not use pool or breakfast. Good amenities and lots of towels and pillows. Huge suite. Great price. Clean!

We had the king suite. It was clean. Bathroom ceiling and wall on top needs work done, damage and stain visible. However, overall room is very clean. Restaurant is across from the hotel which is very nice. They have free breakfast but we did not have time to try it. Stay was nice.

It was ok. I probably won't stay again because they had issues with my service dog being in the room we booked. I called ahead to inform them that there would be a service dog coming and was told there wouldn't be any problems. Upon arrival front desk staff was extremely hesitant on letting us in our booked room and wanted to know who had given us prior approval. Unfortunately on my part I didn't get the ladies name I had spoken to. If you are going to work in any hospitality/public job please inform your employees of service dogs and the laws. The morning breakfast was awesome. I really enjoyed the walkable dinning options that were close by.

Property was not bad, beds were comfortable abd location was convenient. However, on our second morning the phone rang at 6:30AM waking me and my son up. It was the front desk claiming some detector was going off indicating we were smoking in our room. Explained that we neither of us were smokers and no one was smoking in the room. I asked them to come up to verify we were not smoking but they just kept saying we were smoking and there would be a charge. Again asked them to come verify we were NOT smoking and the clerk replied with "Whatever" and hung up . The power was out that night for 5 hours plus with no emergency lighting in the hallways. No updates on what was going on. Fire alarm went off in the middle. They silenced the audible alarm but strobes in the hallway continued to flash and were still flashing when we checked out early the next morning. Asked at checkout for them to confirm we would not be charged for smoking and was told they would have to talk to the manager who wasn't in yet. No follow up and a charge was on my credit card. Tried to call to talk to a manager when I got home and told no manager was in and they didn't know when they would be Called the parent company and opened a ticket with them. They said the general manager would be notified. I asked when I could expect to hear back. They said they didn't know. Resorting to dispute the charge on my cc with my cc company as I don't know what other option I have at this point.

Customer service has been horrible. Have had same lady check me in and out and she goes out of her way to make it so difficult. I thought doing it online would make it smooth but no she makes it 100x more difficult

Courteous staff, smooth checkin.

The staff was very polite and accommodating. The room was clean and the lobby was nice and clean fresh smelling as you walk through the door. I would definitely stay there again.

Check in took a half hour, even though they had my reservation and there wasn’t any problem with it. Unacceptable! Otherwise experience was good.

The Country Inn and Suites in Cottage Grove completely stood out to me of any hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff were so friendly and kind. The front desk individuals were attentive and helpful. The dining girls are so funny and really make anyones morning!!! Hotel was very clean and I enjoyed that the pool hours went until midnight. Definitely staying here again!

There was no one at the front desk and no signage or direction on how to summon the worker. This was 6pm on a Friday. Finally after snooping around we found a phone that said to call “0” for the front desk so we did and finally the attendant appeared. As we were leaving for dinner another guest was trying to check in and having the same issue so we shared with him how we got assistance. I understand that there is other work to be done at a hotel but maybe have the front desk representative at the desk or in an area where they can hear or see people approaching the desk.

Checking in went smoothly. I would stay there again.

The lady at the front desk was very unfriendly. When we walked in and rang the bell, she seemed very bothered by our arrival. My mother went down to ask about the tv and said she was very rude/short with her.

This was a nice hotel in a decent area close to the Mall of America and also close enough to go into Ellsworth Wisconsin for some cheese without it being a far drive from either.

Place was in a great location to everything we needed to get to! Cute little hotel and we could tell they had just done and were in the middle of a refresher which is nice to see! Would recommend and stay at again if the time comes!

Convenient to everything in Cottage Grove

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nicely furnished with easy access to pool and various amenities. Excellent hot complete breakfast menu. Coffee available at all times. Close to many shopping venues and restaurants. Easy access to freeway and several parks.

Super comfortable and quiet. The applebees restaurant across the street and the target at walking distance were very convenient. Enjoyed our stay very much! Would definitely come back.

Beautiful flowers outside! Fresh cookies inside. Breakfast was just ok. Only fruit was whole apples. No English muffins. Coffee wasn’t good at all.

My stay was okay. The breakfast was not good at all on neither day of my stay but the lady that served breakfast was very sweet. My room was right by the exit on the first floor and EVERYONE decided to come and go late at night, and turn their car alarms on by the window continously which was frustrating. Also it would be nice if the cleaning staff didn't start vacuuming and hitting the doors at exactly 6am. That was frustrating. Overall though I did have a nice stay because I decided to look at the good things instead of the negatives so I could enjoy my break vacation.

Clean rooms, great breakfast

Conveniently located! Very nice breakfast prepared by a friendly, helpful employee. The rooms and entire facility were clean and neat.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times for many reasons. Located only 11 minutes from family, it is convenient. The beds are comfortable, and the room, hallways and other areas are very clean. The breakfast is very satisfying and makes the extra cost worth it. The weekend staff in the cafeteria makes the experience enjoyable. However, during this stay, the Monday and Tuesday personal seemed more interested in their phone, and I don't think they understood English. For this reason, I did not give the hotel a full 5-star rating this time. Very minor details like having Half and Half for the coffee and keeping the coffee carafes full went unattended. I hope this is not an indication of changes to come. If you like fresh air, the windows are new and do open. However, if you are not used to noise from heavy traffic, try to get a room on the back side away from Highway 10.
