Our front screen door was warped and torn, but the inner wood door handle didn't work until the manager showed us a "special" way to open the handle. He then told us "Don't worry if you break it; it needs a new door anyway." (!) Coming inside, the room was uncomfortably warm and the manager told us that the wall thermostat doesn't work, so "we put a large fan in here." Said fan was FILTHY and I didn't want it spewing dirt at us. The tap water never got cold, so we had to drink warm water: UGH. When we went for ice, it was empty. If there had been another hotel or room available in the area we would have moved immediately. Unfortunately, we were stuck here.

I wanted a cheap place to sleep for the night, and it accomplished that. The beds are very old and firm, you can feel the springs. If the beds were better I would have rated it one star higher. The breakfast is basically just cereal. However....I was not there to sit in a hotel room, I just wanted a cheap place to sleep, and it met that need. I rated it three stars, but I would stay here again (for one night only).

Aspen Inn had a lot of things not working, I booked the Inn because of the price and we needed to do laundry while there. First question I asked is where is the laundry and was told it broke and they haven't fixed it yet. Outside door to the building wouldn't close, no ice machine and our AC didn't work. Looks like they are remodeling but it needs a lot of work.

For being an older drive-up motor inn our room was very clean and well maintained. Linens were not drabby. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was " ok." It had mostly prepackaged items, which I feel is safe.
