Inside of building was dirty. Outside of building had huge pile of debris on the ground. Maybe a remodel project of the past. Maybe they not have access to a dumpster. A fork lift parked next to the building in front of the hotel. It was not moved during our stay. The pool and hot were closed. Unfortunately we were not informed of pool and hot tub closure when the reservation was made or we would not have stayed here.

We chose to stay here for the pool and were disappointed it was closed. Facility overall is run down and gross. The staff was nice and did a good job but the building is rough. Stains on carpets and mold in the bathrooms. TVs are super high up and weirdly placed. Not worth the price.

Elevator was not working. Guy at the desk said absolutely nothing about it. He was nice enough to carry my luggage up to the door. Four flights of stairs way to much for older people. Room was ok. Shower curtain was filthy. Not sure if it was dirt spots or mold?? Yes they were re-modeling, so might be part of it. Breakfast was ok.

Terrible hotel to stay in. Elevator broke twice. Room was dirty. I had to wait because they double booked my room. Room was tiny for the 600$ price tag. The hotel walls were thin and I could hear my neighbors. Just a terrible experience overall and I won’t be staying there in the future,

Yes the foods were great No, the hot tub was not available at all those days we were there and I could have really enjoyed it after traveling so far the rooms were very nice but there was a problem with the water in the shower

The staff were great. From check-in to check-out they were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable as was the common/lobby areas. The only 2 negatives were a light that was burned out which we reported the afternoon we arrived and it wasn't replaced when we left 2 days later. The swimming pool could not be used.

For the price, this is a solid property. Check in staff was friendly. Room and bathroom were clean and neat. Pool area small, but adequate with a bathroom of its own there and seemed to be enough towels.

For the most part the trip was ok however we wanted a relaxing weekend away and part of that was sitting in the hot tub and swimming in the pool. It looked like some kids had a pool party in there as there was beer boxes and cans in the pool area. The bathroom in the pool area was trashed and the shower curtain and bar were on the floor broken. It looked like someone pooped in the pool and it was ice cold! The hot tub looked like it may have had beer poured in it the jets didn’t work and it was not very hot at all was very disappointed in it as we were looking forward to that!

The property was dirty. The hotel was dirty. I do not believe that was house keeping fault. Lack of supplies and staff. You have to ask for any kind of house keeping. Trash removal, towels all of it. The breakfast was only fully out when management wasn't there and it was just left overs untill it was gone.The pool was freezing. The jacuzzi was as warm as the pool should have been. No towels in the pool area. Gotta ask and getting more than one tiny towel is a feet. Most of the staff were absolutely amazing accommodating and willing to go the extra mile. I didn't run into anyone in the hotel that was pleased with their stay. Dump was used alot. It was an average hotel. Great for folks who travel for work and just need a bed. The town was pretty. Not many options in that area. I'd stay there again. I would bring some cleaning supplies though. There was staff that definitely made up for the typical hotel inconveniences.

Daughters room was so moldy smelling she had to cancel. Our bathroom door would not close. Manufacture stickers on sink. Tub was dirty and had a chipped edge. Sheets were stained and had holes in them.

Staff was very friendly, room was clean and comfortable as was the lobby and food area, there were plenty of options for breakfast. It’s not a five star hotel but it was a very nice option for us. The flooring is some kind of tile and I appreciated that. It was much better than carpet. We could tell that it was clean.

Our room smelled of must, and was dirty. We found popcorn on the bed and crumbs on the floor. Only coffee packets in your room. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is very questionable. If it was anything it was at best a place to lay your head. We will NOT be staying here again.

The room was extremely dirty. The bathtub had hair in it. The toilet bowl was clean but the toilet itself had not been cleaned in a long time (bottom). The floors had probably been vacuumed down the middle but dirty had piled up along the wall.

We reserved a room with two queens but were informed upon arrival that the room wasn’t available. We got a suite for the same price but it only had a full size bed and a hideabed that no one should sleep on ever. The suite was one room with a counter in the middle. That is not a suite. For $198 it clearly was not worth the money.

Microtel was new for me. For the money, it was very good. Only negative for me was the lack of a closet when I had 75% of hung clothes. The pegs were quaint, but not the best for business travelers. Didn't discover the two small drawers hidden behind the second bed, halfway into my stay. There will be a next time, overall, I am impressed.

There is a rattle in the showers wall. I reported it. Kept me up first night. It’s in shower wall. Second night we turned a sound machine on and bathroom fan to drown it out. Nice plug ins for work. Thank you.

Liked the room. Sofa was nice and the sofa bed a bonus. Bathroom was showing its age. Door was difficult to close and it rattled when the fan on the ventilation unit was on. TV was mounted and didn't tpull out and turn so was difficult to see from the sofa.

The front desk staff was horrible and unprofessional. He told us not to worry about the screaming in the back room because he was watching a murder mystery show on Netflix. The sink in the bathroom didn’t drain. The whole experience at Microtel chain is an embarrassment to the hotel industry. We were there for a very sensitive family emergency. A family member was diagnosed with cancer and being released to hospice. We had to leave early and no one would help with any financial compensation whatsoever. To bad so sad, is pretty much what we were told. That is ABSOLUTELY THE MOST INSENSITIVE response someone could get at such a sad time. We actually stayed at the Microtel in Mankato as well. That was as bad or worse than the one in New Ulm. The front desk staff wore sweat pants and a T-shirt that matched the color of the hotel. . And, there was a pungent odor when walking into the lobby. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. Do not stay at Microtel. What a joke. At least Motel 6 has a cool phrase presented to you by Tom Bodett. Should’ve stayed there.

The front desk agent named Nick was terse and blunt. He would constantly interrupt me while I was talking. The reservation system only showed a single night when our confirmation was for two. He initially told us we would need to change rooms after the first night. Then he entered our room at 1030 at night to tell me I hadn't payed for the second night. This upset my wife terribly. I ended up having to go to the lobby at that hour to pay for the second night stay. He threatened to call the police. He called his manager, and I had to ask them rwice to speak in English so I understoid what they were saying, all while on speaker. The manager insisted he would be in the next morning by 9 AM and would apply a discount to our entire stay for our troubles. We checked out at 1030 AM, and the staff told me he wasnt sure when his manager might stop in, even calling his cell number with no answer. We reached out twice but never heard back from the manager. Nick went so far as to say his paycheck would be docked if the books were not handled properly. We will never again stay at a Microtel lication.

No hot water in room 121. Called the front desk. Nobody followed up and no service. Friday morning breakfast area was very limited. Saturday was better but by then we had went to HyVee across the street. Heard 3 other people complaining and the front desk was not receptive just deferred to calling someone the next day. Overall it was pretty low brow and I wouldn’t stay there again. I don’t recommend this place. Clearly a “quickie mart” that’s just going to keep getting worse and worse based on the complaints and lack of empathy from staff

Front desk staff was wonderful. The room was very clean. The variety of breakfast items was very good. Overall, it was a very nice hotel. The pool was closed for maintenance but the hot tub was open.

The price was reasonable with a location close to a walking trail and restaurants. The rooms were humid, there were bugs in the rooms, and I was unable to get housekeeping even when I requested it. Because I was told the room would be serviced, I was surprised when I returned and I had to go find towels for the next day. I was then told housekeeping would not be in until the next day despite a housekeeping cart being in the hallway near another room.

The room itself was "ok". There were beer bottle caps in between furniture and the folks that were staying around us were a little rowdy. Other than that the room was what was to be expected for the price. The pool area was very well kept and clean. On the positive side it does share a parking lot with an Applebee's, which was very convenient!

Stayed here for my annual Bockfest weekend. Remodelled from last time I stayed here. Room was very clean. Perfect location to walk to Bockfest. It was very busy and staff did there best to accommodate the crowd. Continental breakfast was slim pickings, I suspect on a normal weekend it would be better. Pool was cold, hot tub was good. TV mounted in a weird spot in the room. Due to the event I came for, hotel was loud into the late morning hours, but I expected that. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was convenient. The rooms were very small and throughout our stay, the hallway on the third floor getting off of the elevator had a very strong odor of cigarette smoke. The pool area's floor was dirty with noticeable debris on the floor, hot tub had a yellowish colored water, the vents above the pool were all black that extended to the ceiling around the vents. At 9:00 AM, there was very little continental breakfast items available and the counters were filthy with spilled cereals and other food and liquid.- no one around cleaning up or refilling empty items. I'd sleep in my vehicle before staying at this hotel again.

Property was convenient to everything in New Ulm but no bathroom was very outdated and there was very strong cleaning smell as off trying to cover up odors. Also, there was no drinking water to be found, including vending, in the entire building except for tapwater. Breakfast sausage, “eggs” were frozen and needed to be microwaved

Staff was very friendly, room was clean and comfortable as was the lobby and food area, there were plenty of options for breakfast. It’s not a five star hotel but it was a very nice option for us. The flooring is some kind of tile and I appreciated that. It was much better than carpet. We could tell that it was clean.

The management was super helpful. I had to check in early in the morning, so I called the night before to find out if it was possible. I felt heavy on my chest The AC was too noisy- after it stops there would be a noise last for about a few seconds before the total silence until AC kicks back on. Couldn’t sleep until after 3 pm by default. I was too tired Coffee maker available but no cups Shower curtain rods were loose about to fall off
