Fairfield Inn & Suites Kansas City Lee's Summit

Hotel was clean and quiet. Rooms were updated and nice. Would definitely stay again

Staff was the best part. So friendly and helpful.

Room was clean and fairly comfortable. Room temperature was cold although thermostat was set at same temp I use at home. Would have preferred a heavier blanket or cover. Breakfast was okay - a typical hotel breakfast. Nothing unusual or exciting about it.

We had a number of problems. The first thing was the clerk insisted on a card on file for incidentals. I had to use my debit card. Apparently he charged incorrectly and I paid twice for my room. Didn’t realize it till the next morning. I talked with the on-duty manager and all of them said it was a new system and no one could help me. They did call the facility manager and she was able to correct it. I received a refund the next day. The managers were both pleasant. The room: The room was clean except for the Doritos under the pull-out. I had made a reservation for 3 guests. One on the pullout. There were no pillows or blankets in the closet or and drawer. Went to the front desk and was given two sheets and no pillows or blankets. Slept on a awful mattress. Totally lumpy. That was a terrible night’s sleep. The pool area: I know you can’t monitor how many guests are using the hot tub but when we checked the first time there were at least 10 teenage girls. We waited and later it was empty but was now dirty. We got in anyway and showered later. There was paint pealing on the walls and the walking surface was very slippery. The supposed non-slip floor wasn’t. We did feel that this hotel is under the Marriott family. We expected a little better. We don’t intend to stay at another Marriott anytime in the near future.
