We arrived to check in and the front desk was in no rush to get people in their rooms. I spent almost an hour waiting while the manager just sat behind his desk and drink coffee. We finally get to the room and found roaches in the room so we never felt comfortable having snacks. The worst part of it all, was the elevator never worked and we stayed on the fourth floor and it seemed to have been out of order for some time. I would never stay here again.

No frills... no free breakfast though McDonalds is nearby, no fridge or microwave in room. But 24 hour tea & coffee available. The king size bed squeaked like a cheap hotel so not too comfortable. We did get this room for less than other hotels due to my hotel rewards & for it being mothers day weekend. Could have paid $10 more a night for fridge but we were being frugal. 😆

ice machine on our floor not working. The other one was on lower floor, and still not working properly. Keys did not work properly and we had to call the front desk to re-do these so we could enter the hotel & into our room! Most inconvenient . No cleaning of our room next day at all, after arriving back to find the trash, dirty towels, etc. not cleared and replaced i called front desk... Was told they did not do this but every 3 days??? My stay was for 2 nights only, and i had asked for room service to be done while i was out all day. How stupid & rude is this???

Last Thursday i departed for Cary NC. That is a 7 hour drive. I called the hotel in advance to let them know i would be arriving around 3am which the lady who answered the phone said no problem she would mark it on my reservation. I get there after driving 7 hours expecting someone to be at the desk when i arrives and nobody was there. I waited 20 minutes at least before an employee came sauntering in like nothing was going on, didn’t even apologize for not being at the desk to check me in when i arrived. I was finally given my key but was told that the elevator wasn’t working and my room was on the fourth floor. So i had to make multiple trips up 8 flights of stairs in order to bring my belongings to my room. I turned the heat on to go to sleep and i woke up the next morning and cold air was blowing from the heater. I also tried to take a shower in the morning and there was no hot water and no good water pressure. At this point i am extremely upset and wanted to speak to a manager. I went to the lobby around 9:30am to attempt to speak to a manager and was told he would give me a call. I got no such call and i had to go the front desk again at 5pm before i was able to finally see the manager. I explained all my concerns, and when i told him about the heater in my room he told me it was motion activated. So the heat will turn off because it senses nobody in the room even though i was in the room. I was refunded for a day and the manager looked reluctant to even do that.

So first I’ll give the positives. The staff was nice and I felt safe. The room seemed mostly cleaned. No black mold in the shower, toilet & sink were cleaned and the room was dusted. The bed was surprisingly not bad and I got decent sleep. My biggest issue is that the second building first floor felt humid and damp as well as smelled moldy and of mildew. The room we stayed in had black mold on the ceiling and bathroom door frame. The “clean” towels they had in the room smelled musty and not clean, kind of like they have an old washing machine that’s moldy and needs cleaned or to be trashed. The worst part was that the entire first floor including our room was moist. Nothing was soaking wet but my clean clothes in my bag were the slightest bit damp when first put on. Also the bare floor area had me sliding around in my shoes as if there was a film on the floor. They should invest in an actual mop and not be using a broom with a wet towel wrapped around the brush bristles as a mop. There is no way that building would pass any kind of moisture or mold test. It’s bad! I would have asked to be moved rooms but since it’s seems to be a building issue it wouldn’t have made a difference. Since we only slept here and were out all day we just delt with it. However I would never stay here again as I’d rather pay more and stay in a room where I don’t wake up feeling damp and breathing in mold.

Dirty room, bathroom and dusty! Towels were supposed to be white, but they all had “yellow’ spots on them, it was disgusting! You get what you pay for, but I believe there it could be at least clean! Oh, smell!! The smell was horrible, like a dirty old dog!

The check in and check out went well. The bedding was reasonably clean. There was hair in the bathroom and a use q-tip on top of the fan when I entered. The most inconvenient was the fan and the refrigerator that made very loud noise, which made it hard to sleep through the night. I do not think I will stay there again.

I stayed in the king size room, bed was cheap and uncomfortable! Very thin mattress for a king bed. I've stayed at other red roof inn's and their beds were nothing like this. Black mold in shower. Overall, room was clean and next to shopping centers. Location was great! I am STILL awaiting my INCIDENTAL DEPOSIT.

No complaints with the room. Bed was comfortable although noisy when you moved around/got in and out. The lower frame seemed to be aluminum and so it sounded like a gong at times. I’d recommend being in the main building. First room (in adjacent building) smelled smoky (we requested a room change as there was only 1 bed. Not sure where the mix up happened but they were able to quickly offer another room). And the main building has a decent sitting area with coffee available.

Pro: Price was great, was walking distance to the hotel our team was staying at so that was convenient. Con: bed was wore out, you could feel & hear every spring when you moved, the bathroom was cobbled together shower handle turned in a complete circle, had to guess where hot started and ended. Noisy neighbors, not their fault but my room neighbors were loud.

Front desk was rude. Was in a hurry. They look up my reservation and tell me that my credit card payment had to be made online with hotels.com. I told him that I selected the “pay at location” option. He acted like it was a huge hassle. Very frustrating and disappointing that service providers are so rude and entitled these days.

Whenever we stay, we experience a good clean room, and a super helpful staff. The front desk clerk in this case went far above and beyond to help us out and make us feel welcome and appreciated. I really couldn’t ask for anything better. The hotel is also, surrounded by convenient food and shopping opportunities for anything. We may have forgotten on our trip. Highly recommended!

Our tv in our room did not work so our rooms were switched. Our key wouldnt work so i went to the other building and the front desk agent gave me a hard time about a room key while my wife with dementia waited to get in. I was really mad! It takes alot to get me mad with filthy loud thugs unsafe conditions this place is a train wreck. Dont do it. It stinks literally! No mas!

Our overall stay at Red Roof Inn on 11/30/24 was very satisfactory, after a horrible check-in experience. When my daughter and I entered the lobby there was no sign of any employee. There was a bell, so I rang it. After three or four minutes of waiting, I rang it a second time. After another few minutes I rang it a third time. Finally, frustrated, I hollered out "Hello does anyone work here?" very loudly. Shortly after that a man entered the lobby from somewhere down the hall, carrying an open laptop. He did not look at us, let alone make eye contact, and did not greet us or apologize for the wait. He made it obvious that we were interrupting him. He checked us in quickly, not even stating the room number. I have never had a less pleasant interaction.

I stayed here for an event. Getting an Uber to and from was easy enough, but the issue here was missing the turn onto the road to the hotel. If you missed it, you had to make 2 U-turns. Even the Uber drivers missed it! That was really what made it inconvenient. The beds were a bit springy. The room was clean, and the air conditioner kept the room very cool. The staff kindly allowed us to extend our stay by one night and stay in the same room. Overall, it was a good, affordable option to stay here.

I honestly cannot think of anything that I did not like at this hotel during my stay. Front desk was great and friendly checking in and out, room and bathroom were great, clean, quiet, wand very comfortable. Location was great as well, very reasonable distance from everything I wanted to do and restaurants. Will absolutely stay here again whenever I come back to Raleigh.

I waited last minute to book a one night stay for a comedy show in town and this place was so convenient. The room was clean, non-smoking, the bathroom was clean, very nice staff, easily accessible. Definitely a convenient location; gas stations and fast food chains were within 5-10 minutes of it. I felt very safe; even when I came back around 2a from the night out. You can’t beat that for $90!

The elevator had an extremely strong smell of marijuana as well as the hallway of our room. The room itself smelled like mold and mildew as well as having most of the ceiling paint peeling off. There was no fridge or coffee maker in the room. There was also no breakfast provided like the website said. I am very disappointed in the hotel booking and will never come back to this hotel.

I had no issues on my recent stay april 2023 for 1 night. Checkin was fast and pleasant. Price was reasonable. Wished they had breakfast. Parking was very well lit and mgt had security cameras all over common areas.
