Carolina Inn & Suites of Lake Norman

The room was clean and the staff was great.

The staff here were always great and so is the location!

We stayed two nights. Only problems were the beds were so high that I could hardly get up on my bed, the timed bathroom light was horrible since I couldn't figure out how to use it in the dark, the space for toilet and tub is so small that you can't open or close the bathroom door with getting off toilet -- no use in it being built like that since there was plenty of wasted space. (What is this trend with giant beds? Why do beds have to be 4.5 feet high?) The office receptionist was very nice and helpful. The Hispanic cleaning lady was very stingy and put only two towels and wash cloths for a room built for 4 people and she didn't really want to give us any more! The 11 yr. old microwave would not heat and the small refrigerator did not have a freezer space where we could refreeze our travel cooler paks. I had not asked for a handicap accessible room and some of these problems might have not been in a handicap room. The price was reasonable in an area that was very crowded with tourists that weekend. And it was very clean. My mattress was comfortable (I was exhausted when I finally climbed up into it) but my friend's mattress hurt her back -- some kind of ridge in it?

This is a no frills old school hotel that is a good stay in a great location.
