Motel 6 Raleigh, NC – Downtown South

I loved the cameras and well lit building. Customer service was amazing..

The beds made a very loud noise that sounded like large sheets of metal being banged around outside. Very surprising to discover it was the bed! Moldy ceiling in bathroom. Urine in outside walkways, no complimentary breakfast or pool after all. Otherwise, it was fine.

Provided breakfast advertised and signs posted, but no breakfast items put out and juice machines broken. Smoke detector removed from the room, which is against state law. This property should not be listed by Expedia, for by doing so, Expedia is endorsing everything is ok, clean and safety with the property. Expedia would be liable.

Found cockroaches and had to ask to get clean towels and toilet paper. The building was run down and dirty on the outside eve though the inside was renovated. Also could not get breakfast because of renovations, but was not informed of this ahead even though the reservation was made months before the stay.

The purpose of this trip was supposed to be a romantic getaway with my fiancé. We carefully picked a hotel with a pool (as it’s biggest feature I might add) so we’re surprised when not only is the pool closed but the breakfast area as well for renovations. The elevator and stairwell walk up (we tried both) smelled of urine and the elevator will send your anxiety up a bit with its lurching/creaking + ominous pausing. But to top it all off the King room we stayed in had ROACHES. So great way to dampen the mood seeing critters skittering across the side of the tub to run off into the ether under the sink. Or to find the gross bugs heading towards the takeout that was supposed to be the romantic after bath meal. The bed was nice and if the hotel was actually clean and had all of the working features it advertised it would’ve been perfect. But No pool, No food & ROACHES are a big deal breaker

Very poor breakfast. Area around not safe. Swimming pool was under repair. Many labours are using this hotel coming in with very dirty clothes.

Blood on sheets of hotel room bed. Apparent cigarette burn holes in shower curtain. Pink spray paint splattered at random spots along ground/counters. Pedestrians hanging out in our hallway late at night playing music or talking loudly.

Roaches and bedbugs

It was a okay stay the cleaning staff could have did better you need to have a main cleaning person that comes behind others to see what you missed there was hair everywhere on the toilet seat nothing to complain about cleaned it up and kept everything

Disgusting. Dirty. Bugs. Stains on bed and sheets. DO NOT STAY HERE!

No hot water and bugs all Over the room

We arrived at the property and entered the lobby. There was a sign that said we had 15 minutes to report any issues we may have had with the room and they would give us a refund. We checked in and went to our room. There was nothing spectacular about the room as we already knew given that this hotel was a cheaper option than all the other hotels near the festival we were going to. The tv didn’t even work, but we weren't going to be in the room much anyway. As we were eating, I noticed a roach in the room and killed it. We had somewhere to be so we said we would come back later to report what we saw. We left for what was most of the day and then returned to the room being “cleaned.” I jokingly said I wonder if the roach is still there. To my surprise, it was. Dead in the same place we left it. The bed was poorly made. They replaced the towels with fresh ones, but the bathroom was not cleaned and the floor wasn’t swept or mopped. We didn’t even stay for the remaining days we had left. I didn’t feel like the property staff even cared that we had an issue with our stay. I was just told that we could get a refund for the day that we didn’t stay. It seems like this happens a lot because they weren't fazed. There were no apologies or any sort of care that we were dissatisfied. I would NEVER stay at another Days Inn if this is how they handle a dissatisfied customer.

Absolutely DISGUSTING! Roaches roaming around the room, I doubt housekeeping did a thing. This is by far the worst stay I’ve ever had at any motel/hotel before. This place should be shut down.

The stay was horrible the worst experience I’ve ever had. We had to leave due to an insane amount of cockroaches in our room and bathroom

2 roachs were crawling out of the sink overflow drain. 1 was a regular roach and the other was a baby which means there are hundreds of baby roaches in between walls, down drains, in crevices, behind mirrors, and lighting. In other words infestation. All it takes is 2 roaches coming home unknowingly with you and you'll have a free roach infestation at your own home thanks to Motel 6.

The room has roaches all in the bathroom when I turned the lights and in the bedroom there was people all out side like they live there will never stay there again

Great location and compassionate staff and services and cozy clean rooms, and natural naturious , woodsman surroundings.

You get what you pay for. No frills whatsoever. It was quiet is a plus. Glad we only spent a few hours there.

The rooms were ok but the area around was not so pleasing. There was alot of homeless people laying around and very thin walls.

The AC dirty and smells horrible, they have a metal bed that sounds like a damn car with bad suspension and no surprise the room was full of small roaches. I was planing to stay the hole night but didn’t even last two hours and to complete they front desk didn’t want to move me to another room or refund my money back no adding that the location suck and it’s bad. Don’t stay or waste your money on this place this is place that looks from the 1970’s and for only crack head people.

The room was clean but the condition of the room was lacking, especially in the bathroom. It was a typical second class update. Room service the first day came around after i had returned, the second day the never showed up. For me I was fine but my wife would never have stayed there.

room needs alot of work

The price but the management is rude disrespectful. Management called cops on me because I was five minutes late od paying for a stay over. Cops were literally on lactation at 11:10 am

Room was decent. Just a few things could have been cleaner, like the walls, tables had burn marks (bc it was a smoking room), but I've been to other Motel 6's and they didn't have that. A few holes near bathroom floor and in room. Just some of the people at the hotel seemed a bit sketchy, but other than that a pretty decent hotel to crash at. It's basic accommodations that will do just fine.
