The pool was out of commission and nasty but the room was ok

For the money, with a pool, it was not a bad. I would stay there again in a pinch. I did book a room at a nearby hotel- w/higher rating, after my 4 day stay. However, this is what I think it would take to get a 4 or better rating. Rooms--attention to detail in cleaning--Room floors are vinyl plank-- they are currently broom swepting and/or they use a swifer mop--booth done poorly--floors always feel like sand and dirt- they need to be vaccumed-bare minimum, then swifered. In the bathrooms, the corners have a build up of heavy dirt & appeared almost black or dark brown: Bathtub shower area--caulking or grout needed to be redone--it had sections with a dark blackish stain. The pool-- Hrs of opperation, was never the same- should be 9 am-9 pm. : Sand at the bottom in corners, one pool ladder step was falling off because a screw and bolt fell out. There were only three tables w/ umbrellas-all umbrellas were either broken, damaged or worn out with tears.SO, although the hotel needs some aging repairs-this would get them better reviews-- more attention to "cleanliness"and a little money and effort spent on pool area--Nice Umbrellas, a few more chairs and tables, ladder repair--new or undamaged pool equip.-- skimmer was torn with holes, this would be a pretty nice place. Dirty rooms coupled with outside appearance (damaged items around the pool and equipment) gave the feeling of a money shortaged at the hotel. THE POOL IS YOUR ATTRACTION--.Appearance is EVERYTHING!

The manager on our second night was very nice since we were grilling out. The floors were quite dirty. Housecleaning came but only brought 2 clean towels and no wash cloths. While there was a luggage cart there was no elevator to get to the second floor - so it really did no good! Out stay was ok but nothing above average!!

Property grounds, pool area and room were clean. The breakfast was disappointing. They rationed the bananas, put out 3 at a time. Concerned about sanitation. The lobby restroom did not have any paper towels or hand soap or hand sanitizer. It was evident that they do not clean the gym. Smelled and visibly dirty. I inquired about cleansing spray or cleaning products and I was told they don’t have any. This was disturbing. It was not a terrible stay, just not my best experience.

You can tell it is an old hotel that has seen a lot of usage. The pool was nice and very clean. The room was clean just old. We had two double beds, and they were clean and slept great. The bathroom and shower were tiny. The area under our bathtub/shower combo was filled with water so it was like standing on a waterbed with trying to take a shower. The walls had areas where the sheetrock was torn. The free breakfast was very good. The check in and check out process was easy. All in all it was fine for the price.

Loved that the pool was clean and how quick they were able to switch us rooms to better accommodate our needs as first room was dirty and damaged and reeked of smoke. I do feel some of what was advertised is misleading, the rooms are small and are not 350sq ft. You also are NOT allowed to take food from the lobby to your room during breakfast, which is very weird. They threaten to fine you if they find food in your room. Speaking of, it is mostly continental breakfast, the only hot food served is waffles that you make yourself. Every thing else was good especially for the price. I really hope they reconsider that rule as that was a first for us and a disservice to our family of neurodivergents ( 2 young kids) who prefer eating in privacy. Otherwise kids had a blast swimming in pool in between games for softball tournament and location was very convenient.

Average mid priced motel. Pool was closed during the first week of June although the staff let us swim at the Quality Inn down the road.

It was a nice motel but in need of several upgrades. The pool was not usable due to the fact that an inspection had not been done.

Pool was green with patio furniture in it. Front desk told me pool was open. Room had food crumbs on the chairs and ottamam and the room needed swept.

Affordable. No eggs/meat at breakfast bar as advertised on Best Western website. Room door needs to be replaced-air from outside shoots right into room, including smokers who exhale. Great room darkening & indoor curtains but need to keep closed whenever in room for any privacy. Pool very murky so we didn't swim & neither did anyone else! Beautiful king bed but too soft & it fell in between the mattress supports so no support. Excellent cleaning second day but no cleaning service on third day. No checkin/out instructions in room. Required to pre-pay entire stay at checkin. I'd actually return, but expect less.

First of all, the room they gave us had a chair with fabric and it was filthy! I called front desk and a property worker came and took it out. That should have been my que to just leave! But since I came with my 2 little kids and husband from California to visit in-laws, we just stayed! Well at 1:45am, I got bit up by bedbugs! We checked the beds prior but not see anything! My husband even checked! I called front desk at that time and they just moved us. They didn’t offer to come and help especially since I have a 9 year old and an almost 2 year old! They didn’t seem to care. How sad! I will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! I would rather sleep in a sleeping bag on the sidewalk than go back to that trash hole.

Ironing board needs replacement. Iron needs replacement. Refrigerator was broken. Had to unplug due to the humming sound it was making and it was not cold at all. Floor was dirty. Toilet was clogged when i got in room.

The phone in my room didnt work. It was a non-smoking room but there were burn marks on the nightstand & comforter. The towel bar in the bathroom was falling off the wall. The floors were not very clean.

There were cockroaches in our room. This is a "deal breaker" for us. We will not recommend nor go back.

This hotel is a dump. Cockroach crawling up the wall when I entered. Refrigerator buzzing very loud continuously. Condition of walls and floor were filthy. Mold on the ceiling. It was so bad I would not stay there and sacrificed the cost of the first night to NOT stay there. Front desk claims it is the second best hotel in Southern Pines. Bold face lie. But if true, I would hate to see the 3rd best hotel. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY STAYING AT THIS HOTEL.

The room was gross. It smelled, there was a cockroach crawling around, a dead fly under my pillow, a bedbug on my son's pillow, the armchair was stained on the arms and seat (I wasn't willing to sit in it)... it was just bad. If I wasn't in a hurry, leaving early in the morning after getting in late at night, I would have left.

Very dirty

The room wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t clean. The floors were sticky and turned your feet black, one of the beds had a dirty pillow case. Bathroom was not clean at all. Dirt and hair all on the floors, pretty sure the small back hairs on the wall beside the toilet where hairs from someone’s private area. Beds and everything were comfy. But like I said it wasn’t clean at all.

My was clean but unfortunately a couple of roaches decided to come out and join our stay.. after killing them, definitely didn’t sleep well at all with the feeling of maybe something was crawling on me.

Great value for the price. Only downfall was the AC didn't cool very well.

Furniture could use an upgrade. Had to walk a mile to get ice. Bathroom should have an exhaust fan. Coffee pot didn't work. The TV WAS GREAT!

The bed was very comfortable and clean. Good Internet access. There's a breakfast included. The staff was very polite and helpful. We were very comfortable and will definitely stay they again.

Very noisy road. Old, needed remodling. Leaky windows and door frames. Vending machines with poor, limited supplies, saw no where to get limited toiletries or otc products for minor physical needs

The bed was old, the bathroom was small, and I could hear the noise outside. The price was low, so my expectations were wrong.

It's a great value. The rooms are clean, and the staff is friendly and accommodating.

On check in I was asked to show my service animals certificate, licenses and vest, which is against the DOJ written requirements. I was also asked to provide the DOJ instructions which I was referring to, which I did. I'm not sure if this treatment is legal, but it certainly is unusual, in my understanding and experience.

They asked for a $50 protection payment for the night that would be refunded. After leaving they crandomly charged my card $120 then two more charges for $69. Working with my bank now to report credit fraud and get a new card.

I have been coming for the past few years to this same hotel! And Brittany is the reason ! She is the most nicest and understanding employee! She always has a smile !!!!

Great stay - staff is always nice and accomodating.

Toilet was slow to flush if it went down at all. No maintenance person available. Floors hadn't been mopped in the room. Feet got black from walking barefoot in room. Mechanical noises throughout the night. After checking out they tried to double charge our debit card. Will not stay again.

Have stayed here several times and it is always a good experience. The front desk staff is awesome and the rooms are clean.

I called ahead to make sure we were set and after the front desk looked it up, they assured me we were good. When I checked in, the lady said they had not been paid by Travelocity and I needed to pay. Needless to say, I was a little upset. It took just minutes after calling Travelocity for it to be straightened out. I wish I had got as good as customer service through Travelocity as I did at the hotel. The room was dirty, and the door was warped and didn’t close all the way. Even though I had a sign for them not to come in they still came in while we were gone. I will not be staying there again

The person at chein really wasn't paying attention to billing instructions that I was reviewing and it was a turn off. Like dude just don't do what you want to do. And because I made a mistake and booked a handicap room he decided to keep me there instead of changing it incase he needed the rook for someone else as per his words.

For the price and how close it is to everything (driving)

Room and facility was in a clean and safe location. Room was not old and musky smelling. Appears to be pretty new renovations. Nice pool and you can walk to several restaurants, stores for anything you need if you don’t want to drive.

Great value, super convenient location, lots of dining options, many within walking distance.

Clean room. Close to restaurants and shopping centers.

Not easily accessible for someone with a cane. Had to walk up stairs to room with suitcases. No elevators.

Clean decent place with clean quiet area even with heavy traffic very easy to get around though. And property peaceful 2 night stay for funeral so peaceful was nice

Convenient location

Convenient location for Pinehurst golf and nice pool area.

Beds comfortable. Breakfast poor. Room dirty. Would not allow you to bring any food or beverage to room. Odd as the room has a refrigerator and microwave.

Need to have hot breakfast(eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc) loke other Best Western sure stays.

The hotel was older and average. The breakfast was poor, and the coffee was instant.

Breakfast is a joke and advertises for full breakfast but there is no protein and no fresh fruit. And you can have unhealthy cereal and waffle or peach yogurt or enjoy muffins that are not individually wrapped or white toast. Why not some boiled eggs or plain yogurt?

There can be more options for the Continental breakfast. Very limited items

Nice place to stay. Felt safe. Free breakfast was not worth the free. Tried to make me stay in the dining room to eat a muffin and coffee. Threw it away and left.
