Clean , beautiful the pool and hot tub area was spa like I celebrated my Birthday and stayed here. We ate breakfast at their restaurant and it was also so very good! We plan to return.

The indoor and outdoor pools were both great for our stay. Spacious gym and upscale mall nearby. Enjoyed Bar Bacoa restaurant/happy hour and McCool’s ice cream shop in Summit.

The outdoor pool is closed as is the executive lounge. Which is funny because when i chose my room i chose to pay extra for the executive perks but they are not avaible on the weekend.

Jets in the hot tub didn't work. Staff said "We advertise a hot tub, not a jacuzzi." Also, the bathtub wouldn't drain. This was a bad experience.

Close to shopping mall. The hotel is clean but the surrounding is filthy, nasty and just outright dirty, especially the parking lot. It looks like a parasite, mouse infested, garbage all around area and you have to pay for parking and you get this

Facilities were great, disappointed that we had to pay extra for parking. Restaurant was ok, food was average, bar tender was great and attentive. In the room, the smell from the drains was pretty bad. We had a joined door between rooms. The noise from the residents next door was horrible. Yelling, children screaming throughout the night, hairdryers at 3am, it really ruined everyones sleeping.

For the price, it's not worth it. Rooms are outdated. The parking is $25 per vehicle, per day. This is on top of the $280 you are paying per night. Air conditioner was not working properly. The wall controller was set at 65 and room temperature stood at 72 degrees the entire stay. Bathroom did not have proper ventilation. The room had an odd smell and was muggy. Parking was a nightmare. We were following everyone else that was parking on the top lot. There are stairs and the walk was long to get to the front. After returning from eating dinner, there are signs for hotel parking everywhere but it keeps you looping around until you figure, let me go this way to explore and you find that the parking is actually underground. You need to take an elevator up to check in.

I love this hotel. Clean. Well run. Great staff. Been staying here for 20 years. Its getting a little old though. It could use some updating, but i wouldnt stay anywhere else when I'm in the area.

When I checked in I wasn't greeted with a hello, how are you, welcome or anything. Instead I was greeted with a very prompt and overtly aggressive "What's your name?!" As I went to scan my card for the security deposit the woman at the desk threw her hand over the chip reader and barked "Don't scan! Don't scan! Insert your card!", as if I was to read her mind. She never told me how much the deposit was or when it would be returned or anything. When she was done with me she slid the room card over the desk and said "next please!". There was no; this is your room, have a good stay or anything. The worst I've ever experienced. Mind you I was staying at your hotel because I was getting married at a nearby venue Monday night. In the morning I went to the dining room and was told I couldn't enter to buy a cup of coffee by the person at the front. The next morning I tried getting a cup of coffee again and thankfully that person allowed me to come in and order a cup to go. This was the second time your hotel staff just decided to be nasty for no reason. The bed sheets had stains on them and I asked the front desk to send someone to change them and they said they would but after 2 days, nothing. I had to wait until my third day when seeing the cleaning staff to ask to do it, thankfully she was sweet and changed it after telling her I was getting married and bringing my bride back to the hotel. We got out as soon as we could the last morning.

Was very disappointed at check-in. I paid an extra $70 through Expedia for an \'Executive\' room. Was led to believed it had an extra sitting room, couch, bathtub etc. At check-in, the woman\'s first question was if I needed a handicap room. I said no; I am not handicapped. When we got up to the room, it was a regular room. I went back downstairs to point out the discrepancy and the woman bluntly asked "I asked if you needed a handicapped room and you said no". During our exchange after she said this, because I could not believe she said it with a serious face, she tried to tell me that the handicap room and executive rooms are the same. So what Expedia calls an \'Executive\' room, the Hilton calls a handicapped room? 1. How am I supposed to know that upon check-in? 2. How does that even make any sense? Seemed like a complete money grab to charge me extra, use some language discrepancy between the Hilton and the third party as an excuse and then tell me I have to deal with it via Expedia. Absolutely absurd. To this point this is my first and only complaint while using Expedia\'s service, but it is so frustrating I am expecting to be compensated at least the difference in price between this mythical \'Executive\' room and what I actually got, which was a regular room.

1. parking garage did not have adequate room for car, was dark without adequate lighting, exit sign was placed incorrectly and signs follow an infinite circle 2. when i booked through expedia, i called the hotel regarding early check in, and the hotel edited my reservation check in at 3pm. when we arrived at 2:30, the hotel said the room was not ready and to come an hour later. at 3:30pm, we came again and they said they were not ready and to come again at 4pm. at 4pm, the hotel said that because my reservation was a suite, it would require more time to clean. when i asked for the manager, the manager was extremely rude and said she would go ahead to ask housekeeping and housekeeping said no one told them to clean my suite. i was able to check in at 4:45pm, all because the front desk did not notify housekeeping and had horrendous customer service, ultimately making the customer (me) unsatisfied.

Outdoor pool would have been great, even though it wasn’t open for Memorial Day Weekend, which was the whole reason for choosing that hotel. Was not made aware at check-in either. Front desk staff was rude and defensive about everything.

Our check-in rep must have had a bad day. While on line, a Caucasian lady walked in after and stood behind us, then walked in front of us to go to the little store and the front desk person called her up 1st. She had to tell him, we were standing and waiting longer to be seen. Additionally, a couple with a different check-in rep, was offered waters, but we weren't. Inevitably we notified the cordial front desk person of the experience and we were then offered waters. We also had to ask about the executive lounge access, which we weren't told about. I don't want to assume racial bias, but who knows. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will be back. They offer a shuttle to the mall (which is across the parkway in walking distance if you like). The pools (indoor and outdoor) were good. They probably should retile parts of the pool and fix some of the shades as a few of them were broke. The food at The Retreat is delicious and the waiter Alejandro was Excellent. It would be nice if the music was a little more lively on the weekends. Anticipate about $30-50 for a meal after tax & tip, which isn't bad at all. The other restaurant, called the dining room was closed. The patio & grill is only open on the weekends which is weird as the outside pool isn't closed (unless weather is bad). The executive lounge offers breakfast and light snacks throughout the day, which was good but Mon-Fri only. NYers anticipate a wait for Ubers/Lyft if traveling for a meeting.

The front desk worker said I booked a one king bed room which I know for a fact that I booked a two Queen bed room. He had total attitude and his manager was able to get me what I had booked. I called the front desk when I got to my room to ask for non feather pillows because I am very allergic, he said he would check with housekeeping and call me back, I never heard from him, I suffered all night! Terrible customer service! Would not recommend!

The place was beautiful and it was in a perfect location right next to the mall but parking was not the best. We had to park in the garage and walk your way up and doing that with a kid. It’s very difficult. But aside from the other place was beautiful

The Shorthills is very convenient, the facilities are good and the food is excellent. However, I changed my plans and only stayed 4 nights and not 5 and they refused to refund me, as I was an expedia customer. Also, since I last stayed there they have stopped doing a continental buffet breakfast and its order only, which is not great in the morning when you are in a rush.

The breakfast & lunch restaurant was OK but not a great value - pricey for the items provided. No all-day provided coffee was a disappointment. The small store adjacent to front desk with essentials was also expensive - I guess you pay for the convenience. The evening restaurant and lounge was loud. It's hard to get across JFK Blvd to the mall without a car i.e. walk. Staff was nice yet professional.

The website states free breakfast to all adults then the buffet is overpriced at $40 per adult. Waited at table 15 min with no service so I walked out. Bathroom door was broken. Air conditioner did not work properly kept shutting off. I did not attempt to ask to change rooms because it was just for 2 nights. Otherwise the pools were clean and most of the staff was very friendly. The hotel is also clean and convenient.

Great place, very nice courteous staff, it wouldn't be a bad idae if a hotel in this caliber would provide free coffe to guests in the morning rather than go to the breakfast dining area and have to pay the server tip very basic extra that you $50 motels provide for free
