Older property in need of renovations. No amenities in the hotel. 24 hour IHOP about 2 miles down the road for late night meal. Location perfect for northern NJ events and trips to NYC. Staff were friendly and helpful

The restaurant was closed without notice. Although it was quite cold (i.e., temperature in the low 50's) there was no heat in the hotel! To their credit, they did offer me a small electric space heater. Still, I slept in my coat.

Beautiful Hotel. It was perfect for me and my boyfriend while we visited NY. Rooms are spacious. Bed was comfy and clean. Could use some renovation updates. Gym has new equipments to use and the staff was very friendly and helpfull. The location was amazing, very quiet and peacefull neighborhood. For the price and location, we couldn't ask for better. Would not recommend staying at this hotel. The decor and general public areas are tired, not updated and not so clean. Furniture is cracked or dented or chipped. There is good hot water pressure in shower however. Bathroom hasn’t been updated but decent. Staff are courteous. Plenty of parking but main issue is cleanliness.

We loved the staff, they were friendly and always willing to assist. The rooms were older and could use some TLC and it would help if there were microwaved in the rooms rather than having to use one community microwave. But all in all the visit was restful and we will use this hotel again.

Hair in the bath tub when we arrived, wall paper falling off in the bathroom, black mold coming out of bathroom vent, water cups leaked, mini fridge froze all of our food. We used to love staying here but this hotel is in major need of some basic cleanliness and renovation.

Called and made reservation after I booked to get a joint room. They confirmed. Check in and they didn’t have any record of this. Thankfully they were able to correct that. But it took a while to get into the room. Rooms were pretty old and dirty. Visible mold or mildew in bathroom. Shower heads had that pink mold. Location is great but it’s time they do a real renovation or sell to a chain.

Cleanliness is what matters most to us! The service was excellent, especially Steve, who was very helpful, smiling, and quick to restock our amenities like coffee and shampoo. Getting to Manhattan is easy: the 166X bus takes you to Port Authority in just 40 minutes (the 166T is also a good alternative). A great choice for a trip to NYC.

I recently stayed in a handicap room with my elderly mother and it was very dirty, moldy, and smelly. This area of the hotel is extremely dated and needs serious remodeling and renovations. There was a water stain above her bed which made us nervous and uncomfortable. My Aunt and Uncle also stayed at your hotel and had the same experience as did we. The room was very, very far from the elevator and my aunt was frustrated. While sitting in the lobby upon arrival, 3 firemen arrived to check the water heater which again made us concerned for our safety. This stay was very disappointing resulting in our early departure of 1 day which was already paid for and was not refunded.

This is an older but clean hotel nestled in the Tenafly area. We have stayed there before and found the hotel to be just what we needed. We would definitely stay again. The room was spacious, bed comfortable, pillows soft. The internet worked well and TV had cable channels. The bathroom was dated but clean though it took a minute for the shower to warm up, no big deal. Overall a nice find.

The room is spacious, bed was comfortable and shower was great. The hotel and room are dated. One of the wall was bubbling when we checked in but disappeared 2 days later. One section of the room seems to have not been cleaned properly but it didn’t bother me as it was at the end of the room by the bedside table. The members of staff were very nice and attentive. There are shops around corner and the bus stop is just at the front of the hotel.

Desk staff were not really that helpful and had me move rooms as they were not “technicians” Made check in a lot longer which was frustrating with my late night check in. It looked like it was going to be really nice from the lobby. But after walking all out way to a room in the very back corner after taking a elevator to the second floor only to have to go down some steps, the room was pretty basic. Everything worked well but the sink had a constant drip and there was some stain on the wall. It was still a good night's sleep and close to a bus stop

The Clinton Hill Hotel exceeded my expectations for the price. I was expecting something more down-market, but the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels provided each time. The staff were friendly, polite, and very helpful throughout my stay. The location is also a big plus — the bus to New York stops right outside the hotel and runs until 2am, so getting around was never an issue. Overall, an excellent and very pleasant stay.

Well, the man at the counter was very rude. I booked through the Expedia app. I checked the website for Clinton Inn and there was nothing about leaving $150 deposit until I came to check in My room has blue masking tape around the toilet. The tub is filthy. He put me in the last room on the first floor away from everything can’t get ice on the first floor. You have to go up to the second. .. the man who checked me in, was very, very rude, chewing food as he’s talking to me… Would not even look at me and kept pointing to the sign on the wall that says you have to leave a deposit. he saw that I reserved the room because I never gave him my name so when I reserved it, the total with tax was on my confirmation I am very upset with both Expedia and the Clinton inn. I will never stay here again I better get my $150 deposit back this needs to be corrected. False advertisement No wonder I’m the only one staying at the hotel.

I can accept an old smelly hotel for one night but the service was horrible, staff were rude. They surprise you with 150$ deposit and it takes days to get it back. I needed an invoice, it was a business trip, asked several times for it, never got it. Room was okay, tv wasn’t working. They have no email and sending an invoice by email looks like something impossible for them.

This hotel is in an excellent, walkable location. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was very clean and well-appointed, but could use some updating and freshening up. I appreciated the hotel’s willingness to accommodate observant Jewish guests (sabbath door that you need to manually open, rooms that use physical keys instead of electronic keys, etc.)

- Avoid the Commissary: - Hot Bagels is a 4 minute walk and has $2 or $3 coffee, don’t purchase anything from the hotel, the same snacks are a 3 minute walk away at CVS or 7-11 (open 24 hours) for half the price. - Mr.Wok has incredible food and is also walking distance. $3 miso soup and $5 rolls. Or there is an all you can eat Japanese restaurant but the quality isn’t great. - Avoid the laundry room. The washer gives very little water and you’ll find yourself doing multiple loads. Instead call Bergan Laundry Service - It’s cheaper and saves you time.

The hotel is dated, from the carpet to the elevator. The room is nice and the bed is comfortable. The a/c was running so it's a bit chilly. The staff were pleasant. The restaurant within is closed indefinitely but there is a diner within a 5-minute walk. The only damper was the $50 check in fee despite prepaying for the stay.
